looks fantastic, had similar chile 20yrs ago in Dallas on a business trip. very close to my recipe, with exception of beans and the Trinity (onion, green pepper, celery) Great video, very clear. Thanks
Thank you very much Larry! I usually do throw in some pinto or black beans in my chili, but decided to keep this one authentic Texas style chili. This is a wonderful recipe if you ever want to relive your time in Dallas. I appreciate you watching buddy! Cheers to ya!
I do brisket chili all the time, in fact I just started another batch this morning. I live alone, so I cook up big batches of stuff and then refrigerate or freeze and am perpetually eating "leftovers", but that's all right. Same goes for brisket and pulled pork which is always in my freezer. Anyway, for the chili I season with the usual stuff + I add chocolate habanero peppers if I have them or use chocolate habanero hot sauce. This goes great with the brisket burnt ends for a great, smoky chili flavor. I also use canned Rotel tomatoes in the recipe.
Leftovers are good!!! I do the same with my leftover meat. I do add Rotel sometimes, but I cannot handle the heat from a Habanero. LOL Thanks for watching!
That is a shame. Chocolate Habs are great flavor enhancers. Keep in mind that when using hot peppers it is not an ALL (tear your head off hot) or NONE (no heat at all). Used in small quantities, things like Chocolate Habanero hot sauce can impart great flavor, in spite of your heat tolerance. The same goes for the super hots like Trinidad Scorpions or Carolina Reapers.
Just made this per se. I used a bone in rib-eye vice the brisket and only one Serrano pepper. However, I did smoke and sear said steak. The flavor for this was SPOT ON! GREAT flavor!!!! Thanx braugh! !!!!!!
Thanks for the feedback Torin!!! I'm glad you enjoyed the recipe. I bet it was delicious with that smoked ribeye!! And yes, using cayenne would work fine.
Thank you very much Dwayne! This turned out to be an excellent recipe that I will definitely be using again. Hope you give it a try and let me know what you think! I appreciate you watching buddy! Cheers!!!
One of my Goals is to be able to make a Really Good Brisket Chili. I was at a KCBS Contest 2 years ago and had the best Brisket Chili I've ever had. Every since I've been trying to make one. I ask the BBQ Team what all was in it and was told it had green chilies, Brisket and bbq rib meat. I'm always looking for videos to watch on Brisket Chili. Thanks for posting your version.
Hey Tom, this is a great recipe and I hope it is close to what you had at that competition cookoff. This is Texas style, so it's a lot thicker than what you would normally find, but it sure is good! I'll have to try putting some rib meat in mine next time along with the brisket. I bet that is good! If you try this recipe, please give me some feedback on how you like it. Thanks brother!
Thanks, sometimes I even impress myself and this was one of those times. Man, this chili was amazing!!! Hope you give it a try and let me know what you think! I appreciate you watching brother! Keep that smoke rollin'!!!!!!!!!!
Troy I have been doing the roast in my chili for years. I slow cook my roast with half the onions and peppers till it falls apart, then I will add it to my chili base. Great video brother keep up the great job you do.
I'm with ya Jake, roast makes for some wonderful chili. This was my 1st time using brisket in it and Karen and I loved it. I will definitely be doing this recipe again. Thanks for watching brother!
Hello my dear Angie!!! Yes, this chili was top notch goodness. I even impressed myself with this one! I appreciate you watching and hope you have a super week!!!
You would really enjoy this recipe Dan. It did have quite a bit of heat on the backend. And the brisket was melt in your mouth goodness and added a slight smoke taste to the chili. Mmmmm Good!!!!!
Last time I watched this video it was Nachos. That's a neat magic trick! Outtakes are awesome! I'm glad I'm not the only channel name you forget. "Hey everybody this is Troy Cooks! Dang it, that's not right either." lol. I can't wait to meet Karen.
Yep, I had to take down that nacho video temporarily. Since it had a promotion within it, I was asked to delay making it live until just before the Super Bowl. So, it will be back up soon and you can watch that one again! LOL Luckily, I had this video ready to roll!!! Karen is so goofy and she's always cracking me up making me mess up on camera. I'm glad I could include some of the outtakes this video. At least you can tell that I don't script anything!! Looking forward to having you hang out with us brother!!! Cheers
Thank you very much! This is how we make authentic chili down here in Texas. If you can find the right chili peppers, I hope you give it a try! I appreciate you watching and much success to you on your great channel. Cheers to you!!!
Hey Chris, hope you do give it a shot brother. It is an authentic Texas style chili and I bet you are going to love it. Please leave some feedback after you taste it and let us know what you think!!! Cheers bro!
Thanks Rusty, glad you enjoyed the video. The chili recipe was spot on brother! I hope you give it a try and let me know what you think! I've had quite a few requests lately for outtakes, so I figured I would throw a couple of them in. As you can see, Karen is always cracking me up while I'm shooting! LOL Good times brother!
Hey there, glad you enjoyed the chili video. It sure was a fine recipe!! Yep, Karen gave a really good description of the chili. She is always trying to crack me up on camera too, so I'm glad I was able to add a couple of outtakes so you guys could see what she does to me during every shoot. LOL Thanks for watching!
I've never tried a Brisket Chilli before... have to say it does look delicious. Here in the UK we tend to add Kidney beans and some guacamole. Will definitely give your version a try!
Hi David, the brisket gives the chili a nice smokey flavor and simmering the brisket in the chili makes it super tender. Kidney beans would be great in this recipe and some guac on the top....YUM!!! If you give it a try, please let me know what you think of the recipe. I'm sure you will enjoy it! Cheers, Troy
Yes indeed, Karen is definitely a hoot and a riot to be around. I'm a lucky man!!! We appreciate you watching and hope you give this chili recipe a try!
Oh my word T-Roy (and Karen) that chili looked off the chain good - with all those flavors you added YUM....a must try for me! you two crack me up.... love the bloopers at the end. Be Blessed you two....P.S. T-Roy you are looking really healthy these days. Hope you are all healed up! Have a great weekend.
Hey Josie, I hope you do give this recipe a try. Karen and I finished that pot off in one night! It was pretty spicy, so you may want to leave out the serranos if you can't handle much heat. Glad you enjoyed the video and the bloopers. Karen and I always have fun cooking together. I sure am a lucky man! I am about 90% healed, but doing great. Thank you for your prayers and blessings. God bless you also my friend!!!
I rarely make chili without brisket anymore. Every time I smoke on I always vacuum seal a certain amount of it for chili. So freakin good!! It looked great brotha.
Go for it Jamie!!! It's the best chili recipe that I've ever made. If you give it a try, please leave me some feedback letting me know how you like it. Thanks brother!!
Thanks much, the brisket point literally melted in my mouth when eating this chili. And it gave the chili a really nice slightly smoky flavor. I really impressed myself with this one!! Thanks for watching brother and keep up the great work on your channel. Cheers!!!
Haha, Ol T-Roy definitely cooks Responsibly! And I'm definitely cooking up this chili with my left over brisket sometime this week. Damn fine vid. Love the out takes too. Cheer Karen and Troy.
Thanks Sandra, it was a really nice chili and I will be keeping this recipe I created. Glad I have it on video so I can watch it again the next time I make this!!! LOL Have a blessed week my friend!
You would have been impressed my brother James!!! The brisket gave the chili a subtle smoke flavor and simmering the brisket in the chili made the brisket melt in your mouth. It was nearly as good as burnt ends brother!!! I ordered the chili blends from Mild Bill's out of Ennis, TX. You should check out their site when you have some time. BTW, I'm thinking about a collab video mid-Feb if you are free? Get in touch with me if you are interested!!!
T-ROY COOKS The collab sounds great! I'm going on a cruise Feb 19th but I'm free the weekend before. Know which weekend you're thinking about doing it?
I'm excited you are getting to take a little vacation cruise. Sounds like fun!!! Justin from Baby Back Maniac is coming to visit me the weekend of 2/18 and we are going to smoke a brisket and hang out. It doesn't sound like you'll be able to make it though. I thought maybe you'd want to meet Justin and hang out. I'm sure there will be other opportunities in the future. Let's get together closer to the Spring for a good BBQ cook. Of course, you are always welcome over, so if you ever want to come hang out, just let me know. I'm usually hanging out back cooking something most every weekend. LOL
Fantastic looking chili there Troy.. Will try your recepie the next time i'm making chili.. (with beans in).. Hope you and Karen are doing well and have yourself a fantastic weekend! Cheers from your brother in Norway.. ;-)
Hey brother Kjetil, I'm sure you will love this Texas style chili recipe with some smoked brisket in it. I really impressed myself coming up with this recipe. Yum!!! Cheers brother!
Love ya Karen!!! (tp in the fridge-lmbo). Gonna have to try Chili that way, looks great! For me, the more beans the better. I usually use 6 to 8 kinds of beans, smoked chicken breast, sausage and lean ground beef. Well done brother.
Yeah man, Karen is a riot! I'm tellin' ya, life wouldn't be the same without her. She's always making me laugh. Glad you enjoyed the video. If you give this recipe a try, please let me know what you think of it. Karen and I devoured that pot in one night! LOL
that is a fine looking chili, I normally use a lot more tomatoes in my chili, going to try this recipe soon as I have some brisket left over from Christmas
I hope you do give this recipe a try! It's going to be unlike any chili that you've ever tasted. It is authentic Texas style chili, so it doesn't have much tomato in it. Personally, I like black beans in my chili, but decided to keep it authentic Texas style chili for this video. If you give it a try, please let me know what you think of it? Heck man, make a video on it. I'd love to see that!!!! Cheers brother!
Yes indeed, I must say it sure was some mighty fine chili. Hope you give it a try and let me know what you think? I appreciate you commenting and watching!
Hey Quinn, hope you do give it a try brother. I bet you'll be impressed with this recipe. It is authentic Texan chili. The point parts that I threw in were super tender and melted in my mouth. Talk about some fine eating!!! I used some of the leftover point in a homemade pizza last night and it was delicious also. I do love me some brisket point! Let me know what you think of the recipe if you give it a try!!! Have a wonderful week brother!
Great video Troy! I will definitely try this brother. By the way, I always love it when you show the bloopers at the end. You had me laughing Troy. Have a great weekend
Glad you enjoyed the video Jonathan. Hope you do give this recipe a try. It does have a kick to it, so cut back on the heat if you have kiddos eating it. I really don't have too many bloopers, but if I do, I usually include them at the end. Thanks for watching buddy!
Hey Scotty, great to hear from you brother!!! Yep, this is authentic Texas chili here. I usually throw in some black beans, but decided to keep this recipe authentic. Give it a try and let me know what you think! Thanks for watching!
It was the best chili that I've ever eaten Jim. The brisket was almost fall apart tender and it gave the chili a really nice slightly smoky flavor. Karen and I ate that whole pot that same night!!! Yep, it was good! Thanks for watching!
I hope you do give this recipe a try Sean! If you do, please let me know how you like it. I'm confident you'll love it though. Thanks for watching brother!
Thanks Randy, this brisket chili was outstanding!!! It would work great with regular ground beef or stew beef also, but you wouldn't get that hint of smoke flavor. It's all good!! I appreciate you watching!!!
Hey Ezra, I appreciate you watching and thanks for the kind words. The chili did turn out really nice and tasted fabulous with the smoked brisket in it.
Hey Matt, all is well on my end brother! Hope you are doing well also!!! The brisket gave the chili a really nice smoke flavor and the point meat was super tender, almost melting in your mouth! Man, that was some fine eating chili brother!!! Yes, the cornbread is a must with chili!!! We appreciate you watching! Have a blessed week brother!
Man, I do love my Lone Star Beer hat. I found it at a local convenience store and should have grabbed several of them. This is my favorite hat to wear because it is so comfortable, but I have not been able to find them in stores locally. If I ever do see them, I'm going to grab like 10 of them!!! I appreciate you watching brother!
Hey T-Roy i watched this video at work while I was eating my lunch and said to myself"boy i sure could go for some chili"!!!! As usual thanks again for the video!!!! Got any leftovers!!!! Peace!!!
I'm glad you had something to eat before watching this video. There were not any leftovers of the chili, but I did use some of the leftover brisket point on a homemade pizza last night and it was superb!!! I hope you give this chili recipe a try! It was terrific if I do say so myself. Thanks for watching Hanz!!
Troy, that was amazing! I confess the whole thing is a bit intimidating for me. I can handle a few ingredients and a little time for cooking. I just have to man up and do this...sometime in the future. It's good to know that Karen is a good prompter and keeps you on track! That was a great, fun video. Thanks!
Hey Terry, making chili is simple and only takes about 3 hrs time total. The hardest part is measuring out all of the ingredients for the different dumps. In the end though, everything comes together in a glorious chili. It's good for the soul and I do hope you'll finally give it a try. You just can't beat homemade chili. Glad you enjoyed the video and watching me crack up as Karen made side remarks. She is always doing her best to crack me up and mess me up on video. I'm a lucky man!! LOL
I will have to try this out. You used some chili and spice powders I have never heard of before. I will have to try them out. I like beans in my chili. I usually use a light and dark chili bean. I also like cooked and raw onion too.
Sounds like you know how to make some fine tasting chili? Each of the different chili blends I used have their own flavor and heat level. They have all sorts of different blends at Mild Bill's where I ordered mine from. Mix and match the blends and I bet you'll be whipping up some of the finest tasting chili that you've ever made. Yep, I do like fresh onions sprinkled on top, but forgot about them when shooting this video. I also usually add some black beans, but opted to keep this video authentic Texas style chili which has no beans. All in all, Karen and I were extremely impressed with this chili recipe and we will be making it again. And the smoked brisket was melt in your mouth tender and added a really nice, but subtle, smoky flavor. Give it a shot Lee!!! I appreciate you watching brother and let me know what you come up with if you order some chili blends!!! Cheers brother!
Thank you very much Jon. I tell ya man, we really enjoyed this chili recipe. And the smoked brisket was a great addition to an already awesome recipe. Hope you give it a try buddy!!! I appreciate the thumbs up!
I've just ordered the spices from Mild Bill and said I got their details from you. Kelly changed their shipping to accommodate UK delivery. I'm in Texas (Austin area Sep 7th to 26th if you want to cook)
That's fantastic Jon!! I'm glad they were able to accomodate you. They are really nice folks and I like them because their spices are always very fresh. I'd love to meet you and do some cooking with you when you visit Austin. Send me a message on Facebook/TroyCooksGoodFood when the date gets closer to remind me we need to get together!! And let me know how your chili comes out!!! LOL
Man, I almost threw in some Shiner Bock!!! I love the flavor it gives to chili also. If you like your chili a little thinner, Rotel is a great choice to thin it out. Have fun with your cook Jon and I look forward to meeting you brother!!!
Nice out-takes at the end Troy! Man, that chili looked unbelievable and I'll bet it was great tasting. I used some leftover brisket and made some pinto beans n chopped brisket. I like your serious spice mixes and method. Great recipe. Someone asked, when's the cookbook coming out?
Hey Lee, I'm glad you enjoyed the video and the outtakes. I've had folks request to see some outtakes, so I figured I'd throw a few in. Karen is always messing me up while I'm shooting. She cracks me up so much!! I'm not sure when I will have time to put together a cookbook, but when I do, I will let everyone know. I appreciate the support brother!! Cheers!!
Yes indeed, that does sound like a great idea! We've got plenty of Shiner beer to go around! Heck, I've even poured Shiner into my chili pot before. It makes a wonderful chili!!! Thanks for watching!
Great video T-Roy. I have to ask,....how many people would that recipe feed? I watched as you stirred everything and I could see the bottom of the pot, didn't seem like there was enough chili ....maybe 3 servings I'd guess..
Thanks very much! It will feed 4 people. Karen and I really enjoyed this chili recipe, but I should have made a larger batch. LOL I appreciate you watching!
Thanks, glad you enjoyed hearing Karen describe her thoughts on the chili. Karen is a hoot and I'm a lucky man to have her in my life. I appreciate you watching and hope you have a wonderful week!
I have had chili over rice and it's some good stuff!! I appreciate you checking out the video and am happy that I could bring back some fond memories of your Nana!! Cheers brother!
Hey Logan, always great to hear from you brother!! Yeah, Karen is a riot! It's really hard to shoot video when she's around, but it's all good fun. Thanks for commenting and watching. I pray you and your family are all doing well and I wish you a Happy New Year!!! Cheers, Troy
Nice one T-Roy!! Didn't you do a similar video way back using brisket in chili? I would do that kind of dish except non-MSG. And that last comment from Karen....speechless!! Keep up the great work buddy!!
Hey Damien, I don't remember doing a video for chili using brisket, but I may have? I've made some great tasting chili recipes in the past, but this one will rock your world brother!!! Yeah, just leave out the Sazon Goya stuff and you'll still have a wonderful chili. Give it a shot and let me know how you like it!!! Karen is a riot!!! LOL
A smoked chuck roast would work great Dan. I added the brisket at the 3rd dump so that it only simmered in the pot for 20-30 minutes. That helped it keep from shredding apart. If you want the meat to be shredded and super tender, throw it in at the beginning. Give it a shot and let me know how it turns out brother!! Hope you and the family are all doing well. Happy New Year to you Paw-Paw!!!
Great stuff! Troy, have you tried adding some strong black coffee along with the stock dump? I always keep a little leftover coffee for just that. It's subtle but adds a nice dimension to it.
That is up in the air right now. I just don't have the time right now to dedicate enough time to creating a cook book. Hopefully, it will happen sooner than later though. One thing is sure, when it is ready, I will let everyone know about it. I appreciate the support!!!
Lovely dish bro, i love leftover chili for breakfast, just dump two poached duck eggs into the mix and scoff down with cold toast. Get some. Cheers Moose
Thanks Lumpy, the chili was outstanding brother!!! And the brisket was melt in your mouth goodness. Karen provides me with lots of bloopers, so I will have to start including some of them more often. Have a wonderful week brother!!
I am kind of funny about chili. I NEVER use ground meat.Brisket chili would be awesome! IF I had some brisketLOL! Your chili looks great! Rock On Troy!
You can't get any brisket down in Florida? I tell ya Sal, the smoked brisket really made this chili something extraordinary. Man, it sure was some fine melt in your mouth goodness!!! I hope you have the chance to try some chili with brisket in it. You'd be hooked brother! Rock On Sal!!!!
Hey Richard, great to hear from you brother!! Yes indeed, this batch of chili was amazing!! Karen and I finished it off in one day. I'll have to make a much larger batch next time!!! I appreciate you watching and keep up the great videos over on your own channel. I've been enjoying your style of cooking and shooting video. Great stuff man!!!!!
Thanks very much Todd. I used a Le Creuset 3 1/2 Quart Dutch Oven. I put a link to it in the description box. It's the 1st item listed in my Amazon affiliate links if you are interested.
Wow, interesting Chili recipe..I can't help but notice that you don't put any fresh onion in it..Is this the Texas way? I will be saving this one..I'm probably the only one that will be able to eat it in my family...bunch of wimps...LOL Looks good T-Roy..
Hey Mike, I did make this authentic Texas style, so no fresh onions in the chili. It did use onion powder though. I do like to dice up some fresh onion and sprinkle it on top of the chili after I have bowled some up. Good stuff man! Give it a try and let me know what you think of it! Thanks for watching!
Ok T-Roy..I will try it just like you made it..I guess i need to get the chile powders on Amazon..We don't have that stuff local...Thanks for sharing...
I put a link to Mild Bill's in the 1st part of the description above the recipe. That's where I found my chili blends and they are very fresh packed to order. Of course, any light or dark chili blend would work if you don't want to order exactly what I used in this recipe. Let me know what you think of the recipe brother!!!
Hey Terri, I've seen quite a few people suggest that, but I have never tried chili over noodles. I will have to give that a shot sometime! Thanks for the suggestion and thanks for the support!!!
Just curious. You being from the south and all, do you like your cornbread sweet or not. I tend to go with sweet, but it seems my Texas relatives think sweet cornbread is cake.
Hey Gene, great question buddy! Most Southern folks don't care much for sweet cornbread, but I do like it. If I'm eating cornbread with red beans and rice, I do prefer unsweetened cornbread though. Thanks for watching!!
Yeah, I have a sweet spot for my sweetheart KareBear. As you know, she is pretty darn goofy on and off camera. The chili will definitely warm you up on a cold day. If you make this recipe, definitely heed Karen's advice!!! LOL Hope you have a fabulous weekend Booger. Remind Tom that NASCAR starts in about a month!!!! Yee-Haw!! Love you guys!
Ah, I have had a lot of requests for more bloopers. I appreciate the suggestion and I will see if I can put one together for a special occasion or something. Thanks very much for the support!!!
had a thought t Roy have you done a smoke video with your son together as I seem to remember you starting these videos for him? perhaps he'll surprise you with some skills now ;)
Great idea, I have not done a cooking video with my son because he lives in Washington. We do cook together when we visit him and he has acquired lots of skills and is now a great cook. I'm proud of him. Thanks for the question and I appreciate you watching!
Yeah, that's a great idea!!! Karen has a lot of sayings like that. She's a hoot and a half and I'm a lucky guy to have her in my life. Have a fabulous week Rodney!
looks fantastic, had similar chile 20yrs ago in Dallas on a business trip. very close to my recipe, with exception of beans and the Trinity (onion, green pepper, celery) Great video, very clear. Thanks

That is an epic looking chilli recipe. Great for the colder winter days. It has warmed up greatly here in Alberta though.
Thank you very much Dwayne! This turned out to be an excellent recipe that I will definitely be using again. Hope you give it a try and let me know what you think! I appreciate you watching buddy! Cheers!!!

Troy you are on a roll this week. This looks fantastic my friend. Good stuff
I appreciate that Ashley!!! The chili was amazing brother!!
Hi Troy and Karen, wow what a delicious looking beef chilli, thanks for showing us how to make it my friend.
Hello my dear Angie!!! Yes, this chili was top notch goodness. I even impressed myself with this one! I appreciate you watching and hope you have a super week!!!
Homemade Chili and Corn Bread... I'm in! Spicy-is-GOOD!
You would really enjoy this recipe Dan. It did have quite a bit of heat on the backend. And the brisket was melt in your mouth goodness and added a slight smoke taste to the chili. Mmmmm Good!!!!!

Ya I am taking this. This looked amazing.
Hey Chris, hope you do give it a shot brother. It is an authentic Texas style chili and I bet you are going to love it. Please leave some feedback after you taste it and let us know what you think!!! Cheers bro!
Looks awesome! Thank you, Brother. Loved the outtakes at the end. Stay happy.
Thanks, this was some great chili and I appreciate you watching!!!!
That was some mighty fine looking chili! Love the outtakes at the end Troy!
Just ate dinner then watched this. Hungry again.. Nice bloopers at the end.
Hey Travis, thanks brother!!! I figured I'd let you guys see how Karen is always cracking me up while I'm shooting videos. She's a riot!!!
That's about the best chili I have ever seen. Glad you are looking so good!
You are too kind Kendall. Thank you very much! I am feeling good! God Bless you dear!
I will try this after my next brisket smoke, looks fantastic!
I hope you do give it a try. Brisket chili is super delicious!! Keep that smoke rollin' brother!
I will, as soon as we thaw up here in Canada! Spring is coming!... lol
Hiya, that looked so good Karen so funny with her input to the chili
Hey there, glad you enjoyed the chili video. It sure was a fine recipe!! Yep, Karen gave a really good description of the chili. She is always trying to crack me up on camera too, so I'm glad I was able to add a couple of outtakes so you guys could see what she does to me during every shoot. LOL Thanks for watching!
looks fantastic. I'll have to try it. thanks
Thanks for watching! I hope you do give this recipe a try and please let me know how you like it!
Karen is a hoot!!! That chili looks great to me!
Yes indeed, Karen is definitely a hoot and a riot to be around. I'm a lucky man!!! We appreciate you watching and hope you give this chili recipe a try!
Anna Adkins p
T-ROY COOKS yes you are a lucky man. I do plan on trying your chili. Thanks for your recipes.
Yep, I'm the same way Wes. Brisket in chili is a wonderful thing!!! Thanks for watching brother! Cheers to ya!
Looks delicious brother, I might have to make this!!
Go for it Jamie!!! It's the best chili recipe that I've ever made. If you give it a try, please leave me some feedback letting me know how you like it. Thanks brother!!
That looks great T-Roy!

Ya'll done ate my portion again! Luv ya T and family!
Ha!!! Thanks much! We did not have any leftovers. This was some fine eating chili if I do say so myself. Yum!!! Luv you guys too!!!
Love the brisket idea. I think I would add an onion and habaneros.
Troy, too funny. I was going to use some left over brisket for a video tonight! Great looking dish! All the best!
That chili looks awesome man, thumbs up!
Thanks Ben, Karen and I ate that whole pot the same night. Man, was it good! I appreciate you watching brother!
Another great recipe T-Roy.Looks yummy! Thanks for sharing.👍
Thanks Sandra, it was a really nice chili and I will be keeping this recipe I created. Glad I have it on video so I can watch it again the next time I make this!!! LOL Have a blessed week my friend!
Looks amazing! Thanks for sharing!
Hey Jazmyne, glad you enjoyed the video. This was some great tasting chili. I appreciate you watching!
YEEEESSIR!! That's one fine looking brisket chili brotha!
LOL
made it just like you did for my family, the whant the secret recipe hahaha .it was that tasty !! jummie thanks troy !
Ha!!! That's great Hans. I'm glad your family enjoyed the recipe and I appreciate the feedback brother!
LOL
praise the lord. im going to do this and a bottle a rum.... YESSSS
That's what I'm talkin' about Munir!!! Go for it brother! Thanks for watching!
that is a fine looking chili, I normally use a lot more tomatoes in my chili, going to try this recipe soon as I have some brisket left over from Christmas
Hmm... That's some good stuff
Yes indeed, I must say it sure was some mighty fine chili. Hope you give it a try and let me know what you think? I appreciate you commenting and watching!
look awsome
Thank you very much! Glad you enjoyed the video and I appreciate you watching!
Awesome recipe. Just used leftover point to make tacos. I'll have to try this.
Absolutely amazing. Thank u lawd
Thanks for watching David. It is some of the best chili that I've ever made!
Looks great!! Bet It was amazing, I make one very similar, gonna try the Goya
Hey Scotty, great to hear from you brother!!! Yep, this is authentic Texas chili here. I usually throw in some black beans, but decided to keep this recipe authentic. Give it a try and let me know what you think! Thanks for watching!
Man, that is the best looking chili I have ever seen on You Tube. I just bet it was ever bit a good as it looked. Jim
It was the best chili that I've ever eaten Jim. The brisket was almost fall apart tender and it gave the chili a really nice slightly smoky flavor. Karen and I ate that whole pot that same night!!! Yep, it was good! Thanks for watching!
Looks good. I have to try this.
I hope you do give this recipe a try Sean! If you do, please let me know how you like it. I'm confident you'll love it though. Thanks for watching brother!
awesome T-Roy
Thanks Randy, this brisket chili was outstanding!!! It would work great with regular ground beef or stew beef also, but you wouldn't get that hint of smoke flavor. It's all good!! I appreciate you watching!!!
LOOKS GOOD.
Hey Ezra, I appreciate you watching and thanks for the kind words. The chili did turn out really nice and tasted fabulous with the smoked brisket in it.
Good video, keep having fun.
Thank you very much Andy. I'll keep on having fun as long as you guys keep watching! LOL
Hey Troy, hope you and Karen are both doing well. This brisket chili looks awesome and I'm sure the corn bread was great with it. Take care brother!
Wow, great idea bro! Looks amazing
Thanks much!! Brisket in chili is a good thing!!! Give it a try sometime. I'm sure you'll be impressed. I appreciate you watching Burt!
Although I've never drank Lone Star beer but would like to, I wouldn't mind having one of those hats.
That is some kinda MIGHTY fine goodness right there Troy!
Thanks Larry!!! Give it a try brother! It'll clean you right out and it'll clear that congestion in your sinuses! Hope you are feeling better brother!
I use powder chili powder with dried chili's that I rehydrate and blend in the blender. Then put a little at a time til I get what I am looking for.
Big thumbs up! Really enjoyed this one.
I will also use Shiner Bock not water as I always bring some back with me and love the flavour. Also Rotel sauce as that is my favourite.
Cheers!!
good work as usual
Making this now T-Roy! Using a Pressure cooker to cut down on some of the time...lol
Chili, Chili Baby Lol, delicious Troy!!!!
Thanks Ellen, it will warm your soul!!!! I appreciate you watching and hope you have a blessed week my friend!
Nice Chili! I would add Dice tomatoes, fresh onion and a Shiner beer!
LOL I appreciate you watching!
haha i loved when karen talked at the end when you tried the chili :)
Thanks, glad you enjoyed hearing Karen describe her thoughts on the chili. Karen is a hoot and I'm a lucky man to have her in my life. I appreciate you watching and hope you have a wonderful week!
Right back at ya :)
My Nana used to cook something similar but with no ground meat. Sometimes she would serve rice with it.
I have had chili over rice and it's some good stuff!! I appreciate you checking out the video and am happy that I could bring back some fond memories of your Nana!! Cheers brother!
Insane amount of spices
Not really Carlos, this is how authentic Texas chili is made and is how it should look & taste. Give it a shot brother! Thanks for watching!
T-ROY COOKS no doubt...that chili looks killer
Ha, I enjoyed the outtakes. Karen's funny.
LOL
Nice recipe I cant get a brisket but I hope to get a roast and smoke it
A smoked chuck roast would work great Dan.
Thanks Troy I been having my hands full with grandma
man that looks tasty!
It was very tasty Jeremy! The brisket was super tender and gave the chili a really nice smoke flavor. YUM!!!! Thanks for watching brother!
Great stuff! Troy, have you tried adding some strong black coffee along with the stock dump? I always keep a little leftover coffee for just that. It's subtle but adds a nice dimension to it.
Yes, I sure have Jason. Good stuff brother!!!
When is the cookbook coming out T Roy?
That is up in the air right now. I just don't have the time right now to dedicate enough time to creating a cook book. Hopefully, it will happen sooner than later though. One thing is sure, when it is ready, I will let everyone know about it. I appreciate the support!!!
looks
Lovely dish bro, i love leftover chili for breakfast, just dump two poached duck eggs into the mix and scoff down with cold toast. Get some. Cheers Moose
That sounds like a manly breakfast for sure Moose!!! Hope all is going well down under! Cheers to ya brother!!!
That looked real good Troy and Karen, I would like to try Karen's Corn Bread. Great Blooper ending, I got a laugh.
Thanks Lumpy, the chili was outstanding brother!!! And the brisket was melt in your mouth goodness. Karen provides me with lots of bloopers, so I will have to start including some of them more often. Have a wonderful week brother!!
Hey T-Roy, since I already have the grinder out, you think it would work out if I also grind the cooked brisket instead of cubing it? Thanks buddy!
theguccipilot do both!
Sure, you can grind the brisket if it isn't cooked yet. I wouldn't grind it up if it is already cooked. But that's just me! LOL
25$ for a SMALL point? Not today. I used to get a whole packer for 30$ at Costco just a few years ago.
I like getting my Prime briskets from Costco. They run about $45 each now for a 15 lb packer.
We do chili in different dumps. You won't want to see the final dump, though.
Funny!!! LOL
Can you do a slow cooked chili with beans etc?
Yes, I will add it to my To-Do list for ya. Thanks for the suggestion!
damn dude, I wasn to come over to your house to eat :) looks real good bud!!!
Hahahahhaa horn tootin!! That looks awesome
Thanks, it is a fantastic recipe! I appreciate you watching!!!
I love this video. Lol
Woooo dogggie. Neighbor, how long has it been since you had a big thick steaming bowl of Troy's chili? Well, that's too long. Good video man.
Thank ya so much.. And far as that chili, that looked amazing. Although, I tend to make too much when I make it.
It freezes well Richard, so make you a large batch!
I plan to do just that before the spring. Thanks
Red pepper flakes or cayenne for that red pepper? Video showed flakes so that's what I went with.
ground red pepper
That is some mighty fine pot of chili. Btw what brand and size is that Dutch oven Troy?
Thanks very much Todd. I used a Le Creuset 3 1/2 Quart Dutch Oven. I put a link to it in the description box. It's the 1st item listed in my Amazon affiliate links if you are interested.
Awesome thank you sir!
2nd time making this with minor alterations. Good shit go too recipe!!!!
Glad you enjoyed the chili Torin. Recipes are made to be tweaked! I'm glad you made it your own!!
put some of that on some pasta noodles!!
Hey Terri, I've seen quite a few people suggest that, but I have never tried chili over noodles. I will have to give that a shot sometime! Thanks for the suggestion and thanks for the support!!!
More bloopers!
Thanks, I appreciate the feedback and thank you for watching! I'll see if I can do more bloopers for you! Cheers, Troy
Ah isn't that Karen cute! hehe, nice chili Troy, real nice!
Your dump #2 is alot different than my dump #2. Mine usually smells pretty bad though.
Next video idea: T-ROY COOKS BLOOPER REEL :D
Ah, I have had a lot of requests for more bloopers. I appreciate the suggestion and I will see if I can put one together for a special occasion or something. Thanks very much for the support!!!
Call it: T-ROY COOKS _IRRESPONSIBLY_ haha. Keep doing your thing man I like the videos.
Great idea!! LOL I like it!!!! Thanks for sticking with me and supporting my channel. I truly appreciate it! Cheers!!
had a thought t Roy have you done a smoke video with your son together as I seem to remember you starting these videos for him? perhaps he'll surprise you with some skills now ;)
Great idea, I have not done a cooking video with my son because he lives in Washington. We do cook together when we visit him and he has acquired lots of skills and is now a great cook. I'm proud of him. Thanks for the question and I appreciate you watching!
Gotta name that chili in Karen's honor, for her comment of "Better put your toilet paper in the fridge" LOL
Yeah, that's a great idea!!! Karen has a lot of sayings like that. She's a hoot and a half and I'm a lucky guy to have her in my life. Have a fabulous week Rodney!
do you like onions and cheese on it ? Chili's not chili with without onions and cheese topping
