I was just surprised at first then smiling knowing they brought back that absolute legend. In a game with an already amazing cast of support characters, Nakajima *still* manages to stand above the rest, and I was so happy to see they brought him back and Date let him know Kiryu is alive.

I'm hoping 9 is Ichiban putting to rest the Daidoji to protect kiryu and his kids. That's where it feels like the story is heading. They just left that up in the air at the end of 8 and never showed how he resolved that little issue they hit us over the head with in gaiden and 8. Especially if they make ichiban's party consist of everyone that Kiryu helped/fought with up til that point, and allow them all time in the limelight.
We've seen Kiryu cry, sing, fight for his life, he was the main character for 8 (excluding 7) games, and seeing him actually "fading away" is truly sad. This theme captures the feeling of knowing someone throught his ups and downs, its not cool its just beautiful. Makes me drop a tear.

I was going through a bad time some time ago, and to distract myself I decided to try that funny "GTA like" japanese game. It was one of the best decisions of my life. Kazuma Kiryu might not exist physically in our world, but his memory, and his NAME will live forever in my heart and mind
I've followed Kiryu from 0, when I first started in the Yakuzaverse, to IW where we see his strength fade as the torch is passed to a fresh face in Ichiban. From all the friends he made, brotherhood that persevered, family that was fostered and faught for....Kiryu has lived a very hard life. A dragon, a brother, a father, Grandfather, and now the most simple thing at the end of it all, a man. There is only room for one dragon, and now it is Ichiban.
What makes someone a *Legend?* Is it their ambition? Their goals? Their looks? Well... Ambition and Goals are definitely important... But they're not the only things. What makes a Legend, what creates a Legend... Is the story they go through. Their battles, their companions, their experiences, their relationships, the wisdom they acquire. What makes a Legend is a combination of all of these things. They don't even need to aim to be a Legend, because as he said earlier: "These titles come with these things." He did not create the "Dragon of Dojima" after all... *_It was bestowed upon him._*
I started playing the LaD games after I was fired, a few months ago. I've haven't been able to find a job since, and my unemployment is about to run out. I've been really deep in a hole, but seeing Kiryu, a character I've bonded with heavily recently, choose to take the hard path and live after seeing all his friends affirm they want him in their life, I'm going to keep at it. There's been some dark moments (Chapter 3: Taiga Saejima), but I'm gonna do it because it's worth it. Maybe not now, but eventually. Thanks, Kiryu. You truly are Like a Dragon.

I love these song's the sendoff to kiryu is first sad then a feeling of overwhelming strength (which ngl i can hear a bit of a for violence song in a part) and then finally a triumphant yet sad theme that tells us no matter what illness he has kazuma kiryu refuses to die hes going to get his happy ending

For Kiryu, these resemble past (events of past games with all of the consequences), present (desire to atone for his shortcomings) and future (fighting against cancer, despite his earlier acceptance) For Ichiban, all of these are the present. Wounds when he carried Eiji. Fighting Spirit when he wanted to protect Eiji. Striking Forth to save Eiji in the apartment, on the ground. both Gaiden and this game really are going all-out on small symbolism, in battle cutscenes, music and track titles.
🥺🥺🥺😢😢so many memories and incredible moments of this series. Kiryu is one of the most impactful characters in gaming. I feel he is one of the most grounded characters in video games (whereas an icon like Kratos is more fantasy and yet he has had an incredible journey growing and maturing as a character) Kiryu has always been grounded but has had one of the most emotional and amazing growth in this series and it’s needed and necessary for him to move on and retire to let the Dragon finally rest❤️😭
I was hoping to see Kiryu married Sayama, but instead he wounded up in the hospital. Although I would love to see Yagami dating Mafuyu after he gets back together with her again, and that he have happiest life with her after getting married in Judgment 3.
If judgement 3 happens I think Mafuyu and Yagami might start to date again but the one to marry is probably Kaito and Mikiko he did say he want her back but did not mention to marry her. But I do agree about Mafuyu and Yagami they ditched their relationship on LJ so it could be nice they focus on Judgement 3 properly

honestly these parts should play around certain parts of the game when kiryu is in a similar scenario Wounds - When Nanba mentions the bucket list or when Kiryu meets Date again Fighting Spirit - During the Bucket list fights Striking Forth - wont be played during the game, will stay in the credits when you hear these themes again during the credits it would hit so much harder

Imo IW has surpassed 0 handily. Post nagoshi rgg studios has really been knocking it out of the park. Heres hoping for kiwami 3 and the third judgment installment in the future. Can't wait.

Wounds - When Nanba mentions the bucket list or when Kiryu meets Date again
Fighting Spirit - During the Bucket list fights
Striking Forth - wont be played during the game, will stay in the credits
when you hear these themes again during the credits it would hit so much harder

imo 0 had way better pacing and better writing and more charismatic characters(you can’t beat Dojima lieutenants) but IW is def up there with 0 and Lost Judgment
