    I just finished replacing bearings on my 10 year LG. During the spin cycle it sounded like a jet airplane taking off. When I took the drum out the ball bearings fell off the front bearing. I inspected the bearing sleeves and fortunately they were not damaged.
    A few tips I could offer is to use 1/2” deep socket over the shock absorbers pins to compress the tabs so that the pin could be removed easily. Another tip is use the old bearings on top of the new bearings to bang them into the seat.
    My washer is now working like new.

      Yes you can use a socket that's help. Bearing to insert in I tap very gently. Never have a problem. The key is get a good brand of bearings. I did this jobs since kid. Mine still strong and quiet. I love that wash machine. Don't want get rid of it. ☺️

    To ensure that the bearing lasts longer, you should put silicone grease in the seal ring. Bearings normally break due to water ingress, but with grease this can be prevented or at least delay. A bearing should last at least 15 years

    A press kit for wheel bearings works well for these. That's how I did mine. No hammering.

    Washer bearing now last about 5 or 6 yrs, if you can add grease every 1-2 years, use lucas grease it work good...

    Is there a specific bearing puller/pusher tool that you can recommend to be used to remove and install the bearings?

    • @axores20
      @axores20  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      On eBay you have available some bearings kit install to remove and fit them. I always do this method. 😜😊

    • @myang1434
      @myang1434 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@axores20 this method doesn’t damage the bearings and do you just buy your parts from Amazon or you get original lg parts?

    • @axores20
      @axores20  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@myang1434 u need tap it outside the bearing, not the middle bit, the outside bit. Very careful with a screw driver and hammer. If bearing kit to install is not expensive then better get one to make sure you don't damaged the bearings when put in. I did get lg genuine parts and was the worst ones i did get. From ebay from one company based in Swindon is the right shop to buy them.

    Boa tarde
    Estou basicamente com um problema na minha lg.
    Segui o teu video e fiz tudo tal e qual, so que a minha cruzeta estava partida.
    Comprei tudo novo
    Cruzeta
    Rolamentos skf
    Retentor
    Amortecedores.
    Montei tudo e tenho um barulho tipo rolamentos com folga, mas sendo tudo novo pqé que faz o barulho?
    Noto que quando verifico a folga vertical do tambor oscila 1mm ou 1.5mm para cima.
    Nao estou a entender o pq desta folga e decidi perguntar-te.
    Apertei bem os parafusos todos.
    Agradeço a tua opiniao e obg pelo excelente video.

      @axores20  ปีที่แล้ว

      Olá. A cruzeta foi nova correto? Os rolamentos são corretos pra sua máquina?

    • @teltras68
      @teltras68 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sim as pecas sao todas as indicadas. E sim tudo novo
      As cruzeta velha estava estalada nos 3 braços mas nao chegou a separar em nenhum ponto por milagre.
      Os rolamentos até meti da skf que sao bem mais caros e todos revestidos a borracha em vez de metal.
      Os rolamentos sao os 6305 e 6306.
      A unica diferença em relacao ao teu video é que no momento que poes o tambor na cuba na tua maquina o estriado da cruzeta ficou logo totalmente de fora. No meu caso so quando montei o motor é que consegui alinhar/puxar a estriado para fora com o parafuso de aperto do motor.
      Usei um dinamometro e apertei com 70 newtons de força.

    58:07 A little advice if I may, don't use your hammer like that directly on the bearing, even if it looks invisible for the eye you can seriously damage it. Instead of this, use the old one over the new one and then knock with the hammer (like you would use a piece ofwood in a similar case...)

    • @axores20
      @axores20  ปีที่แล้ว

      Use old bearing is a bad practice, the reason is the old bearing is pressing the outside and middle of the bearing, this will damage the new bearing with the old one on the top. I saw people do this like your saying, and bearings end up rough. After 2 years my machine is still smooth. And wash 6 times a week ,😀

    • @gogi983
      @gogi983 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@axores20 My bad, I didn't precise my thought... By using the ol bearing I meant using the outer ring of the old bearing only, place it over the new one and then hit with the hammer... Or at least, if you have some old steel cylindric stuff around you that you use to keep for god's sake (the usual "may be useful one day" pieces... :D ) then anything that has approximatively the same diameter would do the job.
      Anyway, everybody is free to proceed the way he thinks it is the best. ;)

    • @axores20
      @axores20  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@gogi983 outside ring is a good Idea. Or even buy a bearing press tool which got all dimensions of all bearings. All ideas are always welcome my friend 🙂

    • @gogi983
      @gogi983 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@axores20 Yep bearing press is of course the best solution 😀 Outer ring is the solution for people who can't affor buying a press and doing the job occasionally.
      P.S. : you can also put the new bearing in the freezer some hours before, metal will shrink a little bit due to temperature 🙂

    Oh I've got that on my LG and its been like that from near new and it works just fine. In previous house, that machine a Zanussi had a drum that moved liked that and never needed a new bearings. If the machine is not extra noisy, why are you changing them?

    • @axores20
      @axores20  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I said on the video, the gap was let my socks going inside the drum. Now its all perfect again. Drum shouldn't have any play. Now after few washes my socks are safe.

      @@axores20 That's really strange as that gap is even bigger on some other makes of machine. A little play in the drum isnt going to do me any harm if my LG washing machine works just fine for the past 2.5 years like, that used 3 times a week lol. Glad you are happy with yours again.
