What's the logic behind this new comp? Surely not the greatest optics to create a new competition exclusively for schools whose annual fees are £30-40k?

It’s also odd because the best team this year which is probably Harrow isn’t even in it . They have said they will open it up though next year so anybody can join

While everyone’s comments about this being elitist are true, the quality of some of play from Sedbergh was outstanding for a school side! Fair play
Trying to understand the logic of the competition at the start of the season, Why not November after schools have had a chance to select best players on form and not coaches thought?

Remember playing Sedbergh on that pitch after a trek all the way up from Coventry. We managed to score first and last! They may have scored four in between our two tries though…

As someone who plays rugby at a public school (John fisher but 2nd team as I'm not trying in 6th form), it's not fair but icl they're better than us. They get the WHOLE year to train but we be getting like 2-3 weeks before our first games.
Yh there's only a year group every 6 years that's talented enough to compete with private schools

Kind of a combination of Sedbergh having three England players in the back line combined with 2 academy players and whitgift having a down year . Best teams in the country this year would probs be Harrow, Sedbergh , Clifton and maybe Wellington.
