I used the same combination myself this morning. Unfortunately I’m going through so back pain myself. This weekend was the most pain I’ve ever been in. Multiple trips to the massotherapist and Chiropractor provided little relief. I had to go to the doctor yesterday. He gave me two injections and three prescriptions. I glad to say it worked pretty quickly and took the edge off so I can’t at least move around a little.
Have you ever tried Parker razors? Their 24C is an open-comb, and in my opinion the teeth are pretty smooth - none of the rough edges on the teeth like many open combs. And it's roughly the same weight and size as the Merkur 39C, with a very nice looking barber-pole style handle. It's my go-to razor when I have several days growth.
Nice Halloween shave. A close, comfortable shave is always a good feeling after several days of beard growth. You've probably been asked this before. Have you ever compared the Personna Lab Blues with the Personna Med Preps? I watched a couple of comparison videos a while back and the conclusions were no distinguishable difference between the two blades. Out of curiosity, I decided to see for myself. Mainly because the Med Preps cost 4 times the Lab Blues. I thought there had to be a difference in performance for such a big price difference. So, I bought a 5-pack of Med Preps for $5 rather than spend $60 for a pack of 100. I will admit that my comparison was not scientific. I first shaved with a Lab Blue using my favorite safety razor, the Rockwell 6S/R4 plate. Then I shaved with a Med Prep using the same setup. I also shaved with each blade 6 times to test for durability. The bottom line for me was no distinguishable difference in the shaves. And even after 6 shaves with each blade, I concluded they performed identically. Close, comfortable, irritation-free shaves. So, I am curious to know your take? Like everything else in wet shaving, maybe it's just a YMMV thing?
Nice shave!!
