@@andryuu_2000 subjectively. No weapon arts, not as many combos, the connection was pretty decent, but I much prefer DS2 just for the pve, not for pvp

You are you one of the first I see that prefer DS 2 for it's pve, but, pvp was better, there was more build variety and almost every weapon could be good

The DS3 pvp really humors me, some weapons are really designed well and make a nice addition to the Souls series although it's nothing like the beast of diversity DS2 was (oh damn, and the PvE in that game remains enjoyable for me up to this day).
.. a very unpopular opinion perhaps, but it is the game that clocks most of my enjoyable Souls hours by far (~400 DS1, ~900 DS2, ~200DS3)

Hi Chase. It's been a while. Game is kinda dead but I still love the PvP. Just wanted to say thanks for the build it helped me.
I run Corvian GS as my main weapon and it was quite nice to see someone who is good at PvP using one.
3:46 that little sequence of fighting for a few seconds was rlly damn cool for some reason
Best thing about the katana weapon arts is that your opponent never knows if you’re coming out with an attack or a party.
I know I'm hella late but washing poke actually doesn't have a guaranteed 2 hit r1 combo, it's for balancing purposes because it's so damned long. Just use spacing, buffered running attacks and its weapon at mixup after hitstun :)

My first playthrough I got the corvian scythe, thought it looked cool as shit, then found the sages big hat, though that looked cool as shit, then used those for the rest of the game

late to the party but the corvian great scythe is fairly overlooked IMO because of it's passive stacking bleed effect on the user but I've never had an issue when using it with blood bite and it has a fairly decent moveset, range attack speed and roll catch.

Loving this build. Made a few changes by adding a hunter's ring and milkring to use the points elsewhere. Still trying to get better at parrying to justify the hornet ring. Thanks for the video.

I rocked the Corvian Scythe with a chaos gem, using a dex and faith build. I had Havel's Ring, Carthus Milkring, Bloodbite Ring, and the Chloranthy Ring. Two handing that scythe, I could do whatever the hell I wanted. Occasionally I would pull out a talisman to cast the miracle that denies spells. I wore the Armor of the Dancer just because it looks nice. I really wouldn't get hit at all because I was light rolling every fight I got into. It's also really useful because the Corvian Scythe also has a little bit of bleed on it, so massive damage is a thing. Scythes in general have a bit of armor piercing on them.
Now that's more like it :D I'm still using my dex but I put some strength in so I could pancake as well lol
If you can some how pull off a jumping head shot with the dark buffed lance with leo ring a one shot is possible. Great vidya my dude!
God. Chase, how i miss DS3's combat so much as opposed to Elden Ring's. I miss how technical you were in DS3, vs Elden Ring you're still an amazing player, but obviously the overpowered spells and WAs make the skill gap a lot closer between noobs and experienced players. I pray DS3 remake comes out in the future, so we can finally return to the combat system with a larger community
Honestly. I really can't get myself to like Elden Ring the same way I did for Dark Souls. Those were the days 😭

Also I always found those ringed knight paired greatswords to be my bane if only for the fact that everyone I face who uses them is usually super aggressive and spams the weapon art as much as possible.

Estoc Light Light Kick is less reliable than Light-Kick-Backstep Power Attack (Rollcatch.) That surprises them, because you fall back with each attack, but if you time it right, you can out-space most Straight Sword R-1 Spam. Not a combo, at all, it's more predicting, and knowing what to use wen with the Estoc, but that kick gives you a variety of tricks you can pull out fast, and surprise predictable players. (t's wicked with Whip-estoc l/r combos. Lots and lots of changeups there, but you really need to practice. It's a weird way to play.)
Unfortunately one of the problems with Dex builds, even with 80 Dex, is that so many of the weapons perform better dark infused. I still do run a pure Dex build sometimes for Katanas though, which other than the O&I don't do very well dark infused.

I honestly like the Lothric Greatsword on a Quality setup, but I think it does have slightly more damage going sharp.
Velkas rapier in dark souls one had a pretty cool weapon art, nothing special but if you want to be fancy, use it.

Wisdom_ Light meh, in hindsight the no-estus phantoms in invasions was nice, but the arena matching was kinda broken. I prefer dark souls 2's new lore and actual attempts to create new armors, weapons, and lands where ds3 relied too heavily on existing assets, story, and animations (i.e. the scythe backstab). Ringed City might have beaten the 3rd ds2 dlc for my favorite, though.
Zach Hughes agreed I prefer ds2 pvp more and ds2 in general
The only thing ds2 lacked was soul level match making, that aside it was a delight for duels, invasions and the whole shebang.

I agree that Ds2 is the best out of Ds1-3. Not for the lore or anything, but I think the gameplay and maps itself were just more fun to play on. Plus, you don't got to by the DLC to play duels.

I was literally just invaded while I was in Farron Keep. This is my 2nd playthrough. The first time I played was a few years ago. I am not big on PVP. I am running a dex build with the sellsword winblades. Anyways, he got me a twice with that rushing forward with the pointy end stun lock crap! I ended up being able to just dodge behind him and take him out! I was in two other PVP fights which occurred in Crucifixion Woods. I had summoned other Sun clan players to help me and I guess people like to invade when this happens? Anyways, won those fights as well. I am starting to like PVP!
Because of the washingpole's range, they took away the R1 combo
I have noticed a lot of dex builds that have the Caestus. You as well. When do you use it? To parry when you are not 2handed a weapon? Also, what is hyper armor referring to?

For those 5% that don't know, washing pole doesn't have a guaranteed second hit after the first successful hit
I forgot how janky pvp is in ds3. Duels can literally last 6 seconds or 5 minutes depending on how much someone wants to win. I still love the game though and come back from time to time for a quick playthrough and a few duels.

I dunno, DS2 did a LOT wrong, but they got certain aspects, such as pvp build variety, very well. were it not for soul memory and a really lackluster PVE experience compared to 1,3 BB and Demons Souls i think it would be remembered a great deal more fondly.

washing pole is one of the few weapons which has no r1 r1 true combo. enemies can roll the second r1. same goes for the torch.

I'm a bigger fan of the murakumo and the old wolf curved gs, their r2s follow up with the wa really nice, and if you have 40 stam and ring of favor you can get 2 r1s out after that, the first r1 after, as long as the combo lands from the first hit, is almost always a kill
I like the tryhard sword because it looks like a tulwar, the r1 followed up by a kick, then WA is a pretty nice combo
You'd be surprised by a sharp scimitar as well, the r2, WA, then r1, r1 can do upwards of 1200 dmg (scimmy is super underrated imo, probably because it has the range of a butter knife)

I did like DKS2's invasion system better, it seemed way more balanced and not giving the host a bunch of advantages. I also liked being to punish easier.

TheCriiss180 Chase be making these builds look good. Dex without faith or a greatsword/ultra is ass in my opinion. Although, I'm the type player to wanna (trade/bait you into coming close to get your ass flipped with one combo) so it could just be me 🤷🏻♀️

The lothric greatsword is so OP with a dark infusion. And it stun locks the hell out of everyone. My preferred weapon. I'm a quality build though with a little more in strength
Best part of scythes? 2 damage types, strike and slashing. Good for mixed opponent pve.
idk why, but i too liked ds2 more than 3. but i did start with ds2 and never tried ds1so maybe becuse ds3 relies so heavy on ds1 i was so dissapointed. I just prefer the feel i had for great weapons in ds2 cant explain it though.

Honestly the armor design in Ds2 was better than Ds1 which Ds3 took so much from one and not two. Things like the Alonne armor or Fume Knight not to mention Vestadlt or the two Throne bosses. I miss a lot of the armor design from 2

Why would one go to 80 dex? the damage gain is minimal past 60 (like not even 1 per point)
Keln Actually, the scaling is quite odd. Although for a while after 60 the damage increase is minimal, in increases again (about 2-3 per level from 70-80 for me with a AGS). So, it does make sense to level that high. After that, of course, there is basically no reason to increase it further.

i think those whip pyro builds are good for mini staggers to time the chaos fireball to work in pvp. Probably also works well against most enemies in pve. I assume they also use a combo of poison and bleed to cheese bosses.

I have 24str 85dex i have this because it's optimized for the corvian scythe
i can still afford 40 vig but i have to go down to 30 end and warrior starter class
it's kind of insane you can almost get GS damage with fast wapons like lothric SS

I like the sellswords because mercenary yep 600 AR for 1 swing L2 full combo is 2000+ AR and roll to escape

I've been rocking this build since infusions got buffed- the Lothric Knight Sword has about 454 pure physical AR sharp at 75 Dex.
The Murakumo has better damage than the Carthus at high Dex- I think it's pushing 700 AR.
The Pontiff Knight Sword will always do more damage on a Q build. The Scimitar is a little bit shorter and has about 40-50 more AR at that level of Dex- it's around 430 between 75 and 85.
And just use the damn Chaos Blade if you want a kat. The WP was nerfed and the CB isn't much shorter as far as the hitboxes go. The DS1 community wasn't as gunshy about the self damage as this game's people seem to be.
The Murakumo was definitely one of my favorite toys. Along with the washing pole. Especially with the pontiffs right eye and hornet ring.
