- CORONATION STREET - SEPTEMBER 1999
EPISODES 4674 - 4690 (All 17 Episodes Inc. 1 Hour Special)
This content doesn't belong to me, it belongs to the people who made it. Property of ITV. I claim no rights and make no profit. This is just for entertainment.
Sally and her knickers she cannot keep them on 😂
much like most of the street tho
OK, I just realized who Uncle Fred reminds me of = Foghorn Leghorn, I say, Foghorn Leghorn!
A newcomer to The Street from East Tennessee! God Bless All!!
Well spotted. He said in an interview yrs ago that was his inspiration. 🤣👍👍
😂 that's brilliant. He is Foghorn Leghorn.
You are right, he is Foghorn Leghorn! lol
Judy dying still feels so raw all these years later. I remember watching it when it was aired back then. I had just turned 14. Of all the new characters i thought the Mallets were the most "Corrie" like and could have stuck around for years. In a way they remind me of Jack and Vera.
Watching the car accident and knowing what will happen to Judy is so sad they're a lovely family.
Thank you for uploading all the episodes of Coronation Street aired in September 1999 Eve Henley Spread. I hope there will be no self-righteous spoilsport who will stop us from watch them.
Oh fuck. That episode Judy dies and then with Gary’s voiceover in the credits is brutal.
I liked it but it felt weird for Corra. Was it a new thing to do? Like, had they done voiceovers instead of closing music before? I feel like it's more an Eastenders thing, like when they play the long theme as they get a taxi out of there.
Such a lovely day... poor Gary and Judy, a sad sad storyline.😪
Tyrone was such a funny kid 😂😂
I felt so sorry 😢 for Gary and his children, RIP Judy
Thank you 🙏 so much for these uploads eve
Cant wait to see back of sharon
can't stand sharon
Ashley’s voice 🙉 Alison’s voice 🙉 omg 😱
If only Ashley could learn to pronounce the word "to" it would make all the difference.
And to pronounce liccle, seccled, Maxeem, more-er and sure-er. I’m from Manchester and I’ve never heard anyone make up their own stupid words like this. It gets my goat. Or should I use two syllables, go-ert.
Mice on Helium😂😂
Ashley the perfect cartoon animation voice 😂
But Ashley's voice was hilarious 😂😂
The death of Judy Mallet is reminiscent of old Coronation Street. She’s hanging clothes on the line in a working class little backyard and the two legends of the community are there. A little family struggling to make ends meet. The writers got something right. It was nice to see Ken and Emily there in a community known for supporting each other. Excellent tragedy.
2:22:49 - Can anyone else fathom why turncoat Sally is here taking the moral high ground with Danny, giving him a severe telling off for "coming on" to her while seeing/sleeping with Sharon? Sally had no such scruples when cavorting with Greg Kelly, knowing full well he was seeing/sleeping with Maxine! The only difference I notice, is that she sees Sharon as a 'mate' (an equal) but saw Maxine as someone beneath her, who didn't matter.
THANK YOU EVE YET AGAIN,....I am on October 1998......
am looking forward to 1999, too.... What you have done is Amazing....i wil keep on saying that too.......................HAPPY XMAS....
In my book a woman who does all the work in bringing up a boy such as Beryl did with Ashley has earned the right be be called the boy's mother!
I totally agree. It's who's there for you that counts.
I never got the fascination of Sally, seemed to go from bloke to bloke and then turn on the tears. Felt sorry for Sharon
Me too. Over the years the writers seem to have sent Sally an endless supply of hunky men who seemed to be blind to the free and single women on the street.
The writing was superb back in those days; scenes that could break your heart. More than the storylines of today.
The dialogue was so authentic
Even sad storylines nowadays make me laugh my head off. Purely because of the terrible acting. The Yasmeen one had me in fits of laughter due to her sheer terrible horrid acting
Brilliant performances from Ian Mercer!
Thanks for 1999 so far very good of you happy new year
I had a friend who went to Thailand and the "Kwai Bridge" to honour those lives lost.....it's one of those journeys that should be taken by people, like concentration camps etc, the beaches of Normandy etc. It should be compulsory but of course, they're expensive trips. To all of those fallen, may their souls be at peace.🌸🌹
God Alison is so dreary
I like Alison.
Thank you for uploading these :) Once you finish 1999 and if you choose to do 2000, I'll be caught up on the Platt family in Corrie from 1989-2021 🙂 (And in fairness, there's TH-cam videos of David Platt all scenes 2000 and Sarah Platt teenage pregnancy 2000. But I'd be interested to see the end of Gail and Martin's marriage and his affair with Rebecca)
Even if Terry murdered someone in cold blood right in front of Vera she'd still refuse to see him for what he is.
if sally says girls one more time ill scream
Kenvin needs a baby bottle of warm milk and his nappy changed he"s so selfish
I don't know about selfish @jstewart3517, but Kevin is crabby sometimes.
@@simonshreeve5580You've got crabs. 🦀 🦀 🦀
"Neighbours playing their drum n bass again" 😂😂 that's me!
If nieghbor can hear its to loud so rude
@@jstewart3517 I love it when they throw a brick through my window so they can hear it better 😁😁😁😁
Les Battersby acting hard is about as convincing as Scrappy-Doo.
Bruce Jones was just playing himself.. and he’s not very good at that!
So true!!!😂😂😂
Anyone stronger than Curly would flatten him.
So just shouting even louder then? Such a stupid oaf.
Bridge on the River Kwai was an excellent movie
Bit Hollywooded up though ,sorry i'm cursed with historical knowledge and Aspergers.
As much as I've never liked Natalie, I wouldn't mind her being my boss. She's fair and she works hard herself.
Sally is such a self righteous pratt. I can’t stand her character.
To be honest with you @maryyellenager, I reckot Gail is the worse out of the two. But that does not mean to say I disagree with your opinion.
Yes, Gail was pretty hypocritical, she turned into Audraaay. Sally was slightly less, but still didn't have much respect for boundaries.
3:28:41 - The handbag market stall holder, just remember where I know him from. Does anyone else remember this man as Maurice Holroyd in "How We Used To Live"? He was one of the rich family, who was killed in WW1 (I think). Gary Mallett was also in it, as one of the young men of the poor family. I think Jon, the hairdresser (when Denise still ran the salon) was Maurice Holroyd's brother in HWUTL, and Gloria Todd (1980s Rovers' barmaid) was his sister. Also Alec Gilroy's daughter, Sandra, appeared in HWUTL as Maggie, the eldest daughter of the poor family - the Selbys (thus playing Gary Mallett's sister in that). The father of the rich Holroyds was Corrie's Dr. Lowther, and the mother of the poor Selbys was Sally Webster's mother, Mrs. Seddon. Never realized before how many cast links between Corrie and HWUTL , in fact, there's probably more. Showing my age, sorry!
I loved that programme !
I count how many Corries were in Heartbeat
HWUTL. I remember that! Totally next thing looking up 🫣
It is not Jim or Tyrone's fault that Kevin is having problems with Alison, so Kevin has no right to make him suffer just because Alison has not behaved satisfactorily towards him.
I wish everyone would stop calling Kathleen Ashley's "real mom." She's not. She's his biological mom.
so real mum then
God knows why Ashley would want to meet Kathleen who was his real mum. Beryl is the one who did all the work in raising Ashley by teaching him right from wrong among other things.
It's curiosity if seeing who she is. It is unbearable not knowing
Closure, know his roots, etc
Loved the Les and Toyah ❤ to ❤ talk in Roy's cafe, Toyah saw right through him. Love those Battersbys and 🕷Spiderman.
Oh My! That slow build up from the initial bump on the passenger side door, injuring Judys Leg to her collapse in her backyard was extremely well done!
Marvellous acting & the 1st time in decades i sobbed like a baby when Gary broke down holding Judy in his arms.
Those scenes with Gary & Jim
Trying to get each other through
Was heart braking!
I knew Judy had had an embolism
Because this happened to a friend of mine years ago in similar circumstances to Judy
Which made these episodes even more painful & poignant.
Lightening the mood somewhat
I laughed at Audrey meeting her soul mate in catty bitchiness was Maxines mum, Doreen Heavey
( played by well known actress Prunella Gee)
In fact at a slight distance, Doreen was a Johanna Lumley lookalike!
I do hope we see more of the Bitchy duo of Audrey & Doreen!
But knowing how these Corrie writers waste so much talent &
Fabulous characters that never get developed!
Thank you EHS
This compilation of Sept 1999
Was a golden star!!!
🇬🇧👧
I think there is something Dodgy , about the car that Terry Duckworth sold to Vera in August 1999 , Tyrone said there was something wrong with the alinement of the car door , and I also remember Terry Duckworth did not have the log book for the vehicle , this Storyline remains to be seen .
Was Kevin ever a nice person? And was he always such a deceitful, cowardly little prick? Taking his resentment and anger out on Jim and Tyrone by firing them on the spot, and claiming it was Natalie's decision, says everything about who he is.
The only person Kevin cares about is Kevin.
What goings on with Sharon over a guy she went out with for 5 minutes.
Sharon was on the rebound, still reeling over her relationship with Ian when she met Danny.
SPOILER ALERT: Hate the writers for killing off Judy and bringing so much pain to Gary. They were my favourite couple at this point in the series.
she was pretty annoying tho
I was so upset when I watched this.
I think Sharon was always impulsive and obsessive about love considering she was from a broken home and fostered. The idea of healthy love alluded her and it started with her obsession with RBrian....she had to leave to get over that. She never got over any of it.....and turned bitter at the end.
Newsflash Rita; No one has to live up to your expectations, it's impossible.
Another month of Kevin roaring into womens faces one scene and then basically whispering while apologising in the next scene. What a horrible character he is.
I'm on my second round and came to comment the same thing only I found I had already beaten myself to it 😆 He has just literally finished shouting at Rita with a few ''flaming'' thrown in. I don't know how he's not signed in somewhere or at least women warned not to get involved with him.
When Vera, Natalie and LeAnn sit down for tea in the back of the pub, I get flashbacks to Mrs Walker, Betty and Bet. ❤
I feel sorry for Gary Mallet , Judy Mallet R I P
Poor Judy
She was a nice character once all that Zoe/Shannon nonsense was out of the way and she and Gary had their own babies. Another likeable character with a sense of humour gone. Shame.
@@SuzyQ334 Agreed
@SuzyQ334 spot on, all that whining she did over the feckless ingrate Zoe made me want to fast forward but the character came into her own once she had her own kids. Plus she had a radiant smile that lit up the pub. Not sure why they would write her out as opposed to someone as nauseating as Sharon Gaskill.
The actress wanted to leave to star in another show. Not the writers choice this time. @@multimill
First time I’ve ever seen jack cry 🥺
Every time somebody knocks on a door or enters an house either looking over their shoulders or once they are inside looking out the door 🚪. Dodgy Street 😂
Maxine's mother keeps reminding me of Barbara Eden.
I can see why Sharon turned out the way she did
Sharon gets on my WICK...Sally was a plain Jane ...and as for Kevin he did not ooze sex appeal... 😂
And yet Sharon called him "sex on a stick" when she first laid eyes on him!?!?
Sally was very pretty, she didn’t need multiple layers of make up like some of the other characters.
Natalie tells Jack he's on the scrapheap without telling him he's on the scrapheap.
Are they artificial flowers on Janice's window ledge they have been there ages😂
Pass the tissue 💚💚💚
Maude and Blanche where a good due Maude was always dressed glamorous shame she died ao young.
Well terry finally did one too many. And I’m sure Vera will tell us all he’s changed he’s a good man.
No, you'll find she finally gets it.
Wasn’t Melanie Maxine’s bridesmaid
Nicole from emmerdale who was married to jimmy king? I could be wrong but it looks like her!
Yes, it's Nicola from Emmerdale. The actress just appeared in Corrie for Maxine and Ashley's wedding and made her debut in Emmerdale a few years later.
Why is Alison’s mam so horrible the drowning of Alison’s sister Cheryl was a accident or maybe Alison’s mam is still grieving after all them years but she can’t keep blaming Alison…Maxine and Ashley look lovely on their wedding day….and it was so sad the passing of Judy (R.I.P. Judy) another great episode thank you 🙏
From a previous comment , that was the way things Where , The whole community would Ralley round , when there was Tragedy , The whole community would turn up at a street wedding , sadly they days have gone
Sharon Gasgill , just got to grow up , and stop feeling sorry for herself , as Rita said , there is no place for self pity , Got the newsagents business from Rita , to easily ,
She was such a loon. The way she acted over Ian should of told her she needed help, not self pity.
Between 1:50:13 and 1:50:13 Les Battersby is being very bigoted. What is wrong with going to college to get a better education? The year was 1999. I would have thought with jobs being hard to get young people would need all the education they could get their hands on.
It's resentment
Coronation Street. very good at over stating the obvious.
Powerful stuff.
At the point 42:36 Here is Nicola Blackstock!
If I was ashley's mum hearing that voice when he spoke, I'd pretend I wasn't his mum
Your right Maxine I'm not afraid I'm not afraid kid crashs his toy plane I'm scared out of my wit's lol
15:46 Seems that whatever Stephen Graham's character called Jim was edited out. Anyone know what he said? Must have been pretty bad for Jim to get so angry
I don't know what it was but I bet it was of a sectarian nature
I think it was a homophobic slur
I never liked Sharon and it looks like she hasn't moved on much since she was obsessed by Brian Tilsley. Seeing her still acting like a child doesn't say much for the foster system. And the fact she's sucking lollipops and lolling around like an 8 year old doesn't say much for Rita's powers of deduction, who hands her business over to her.
So much muddled dysfunction going on in recent storylines, people blaming each other, taking the moral high ground, passing the buck.
At the point 6:34:42 Jack said to Terry "Judy Mallett is dead because of you". Well in addition to that it is thanks to Terry that Garry Mallet does not like Jack and Vera anymore
Like mother like Daughter unfaithful Maxine and Mum
Fred Elliot , Saturday night , Oldham Lancashire , to rekindle an old Flame
6:19:33 My Goodness, that shot of whatever it was worked quickly on Ashley!
In real life the actress who plays Sharon is 37.
Please do 2000
Sorry no dear.. I’m done! 😉
It was awful what happened to Judy but so important to get checked out when you are hit. They could've saved her possibly with MRI and blood thinners.
At the point 1:12:46 Kathleen said to Fred he upset Ashley. Well if Ashley gets to hear that Fred went to see Kathleen behind his back Fred will not be in Ashley's good books.
In the programme Ashley is supposed to have been born in 1976. I think he looks older than that!
Good for you.
I could never stand Sharon; she was always over possessive and bossy and vindictive.
6:08:37 Only Corrie would have a security personnel next to a suspect bag while operating a bloody radio, huge no no.
Ashley bockled it
He was enticled to, wasn't he?
Judge Judy USA 🇺🇸. Judge Rita Weatherfield
Stop shouting Kevin for goodness sake
Ah, can anyone help with what song is in the background at around 6:36:25 thanks!
Mike Baldwin and his big wallet , And his 25 year old girlfriend Linda , I always remember the great John Lennon quote , Money Talks
Sally Webster is a career whiner. Seriously; Ashley is more mature at 23 than she is at 32 and with two children.
At the point 3:04:47 good for Jack Duckworth.
At the point 2:57:25 Kevin is being like Mike Baldwin.
At the point 3:02:00 What business is that of Gail's?
Miss high o mighty judgemental Rita mind own your business, she in the wrong telling of Sally
Alison looks like a girl I know called Rachel Jenkins. Rachel Jenkins was a female I fell in love with.
Unfortunately the feeling was not mutual on Rachel's side. One thing I learned from that if the female does not love you back the sensible thing for a man to do is give up the idea of having a romantic relationship with the female. Funny thing though, I still prefer Maria to Alison.
2:10:37 - Re: Alison and her infant sister's death - "It's true her parents have blamed her for it... but she didn't do it, Rita... I know her!" shouts Kevin. Hang on, haven't her parents known her for a lifetime, and you've known her for... all of about eight months since last New Year's Eve?
Sharon spoils every relationship with her horrible personality. She can't hold her tongue or opinions.
6:27:53 "Designer beers have had their day..." Not the most accurate of predictions from Vinny 'Nostradamus' Sorrell.
Ashley has not known Kathleen for 24 years. What is the point of having her at his and Maxine's wedding.
where does Ashley get his accent ?
Good question!
Warrington. It’s situated between Manchester and Liverpool. The accents are fascinating.
@@cicerodiello1 I don't think that's exactly what was asked. Certainly not what I meant!
Bill Tarmey (Jack Duckworth) was NOT from Yorkshire, he’s actually one of the few Mancs on the show - there’s way too many Yorkshire accents I’ll admit. Bill was brought up in Bradford.. I mean the Manchester version, not Yorkshire! 😉
@@EveHenleySpreadWell, I have learned something new today. Thank you for explaining. I immediately thought Bradford: Yorkshire Ripper town. I’m an Aussie. The many different accents in the U.K. are fascinating to me.
I wouldn't be surprised if that was a wig Rita was wearing. It seem to be that if a woman wearing a wig it is all right. But if a man wears a wig to cover up his baldness he is being silly.
Many of the females on the show were wearing wigs… I know Vera, Emily & Raquel (and Bet sometimes… the beehive was obviously fake) definitely were but I imagine there was many others, not sure about Rita.
Can sharon be any more dramatic
I wish they would call a spade a spade and say Manchester instead of Weatherfield. Coronation Street at the time was set in the centre of Manchester so they should say Manchester.
They do that so as to make it harder for tourists to find and invade sets.
@@briangatt2956 it's not that hard to find the "set". Plus they do tours, so doubt they do it because of that.....
@Forrest Collective actually funnily enough the old Grape Street set at Granada Studios in the centre of Manchester was always being invaded and vandalised over the weekend (that set was replaced in 1982). I presume the new one at MediaCity in Salford with the humongous houses is more secure nowadays!
@@EveHenleySpread interesting, didn't know that. Makes sense, people are/were obsessed with the show.
About 15-12 minutes before the 2 hour mark is horrible viewing and I think the viewers back then would have changed the channel with their remotes. For a few minutes, It flips between Sally and Kevin shouting over ''the girls'' and Maxine arguing with Melanie. Thankfully we can skip it all easily on TH-cam.
