    Passive gila is for gamma, and its like 30-400 mill build. I did T3 so easily, never lost any. In T4 only lost because I'm not experienced and did stupid things. you have 130/sec regen. and gamma raise by 30-50% :)

      If you do T4 i suggest you have full T2 modules and faction shield relay + faction shield extended+ two cheap implants like 100 mil each. You will earn that 200 mil back very fast in T4.

      I used to fit Gila passive to T5, it was a perfect abyss farmer until Drifter BS 2 shot you and I lost nearly 5b fit. Luckily it was in Sisi so I lose nothing but I still not touch Abyss yet because of it.

    Also, I would highly recommend using passive hardeners (with maxed compensations) for a passive tank, however, that takes quite a bit of room. Its by no means impossible, the fit price is about the same, the tank is far less (better buffer though for tight spots), reasonable sig radius. But again, it wont be able to sustain even T3 dps for a long period of time.

    1. The difference in signature is negligible.
    2. Active fits are way more expensive than passive fits, at least in the high-end-area. Blinging shield boosters gets you into the billions quickly, you don't have that with extenders. As for hardeners: Both use them.
    3. The capacitor warfare resistance bonus is nice, but if they shut you down, you're done. No resists, no buffer, no active, and negligible passive regen. With the passive fit, you still have time because regen and buffer are still there. You have a greater margin of error and can survive periods of thirst longer. You can't control strong neut pressure by pulsing your reps and bleeding into a buffer that is negligible.
    4. Overheating hardeners can be done on the passive fit as well, with less danger of burning something out as it's less modules to manage.
    5. Dislike for calling people idiots who are not idiots and being an arrogant prick about it. The passive Gila is well established for Gamma. There are people doing T6 with it. Good for you if you have an active fit that works. But passive tanking a Gila works too. It's also more friendly for beginners, not only because it's cheaper for the higher tiers, but also because it's fewer Modules to manage.

      I couldn't see passive working for a t6 and I am nervous to risk a hg pod and a gila to give it a shot. Yes my active fit costs a lot of isk but I have earned many many bil over what it cost me. Wanna say 5 or 6b with pod for active gila exotics. Mostly from the type a hardeners and repper. 800m rolled cap battery. Full hg crystal + other implants. I never get capped out, not even close. Two of my rigs are the memory capacitor things. The only slightly challenging rooms are edencom battleship spawns and if the sparkgrips get close enough to blast me. Doable, just takes more effort.

      I have done 100 T6 abyssals in an active fit. The only time neut pressure becomes a challenge is if you get the room with 8 cruisers. If you focus them down right away it shouldn't be a problem, might need to pulse your rep a bit. Other than those neuts there are no disadvantages. I ran in a passive first and while I never died, when you get hit with a lot of DPS you have to wait in the room for a minute or two to recharge. The difference in sig radius is also something like 30%.
      Tldr: Active is a bit more challenging but faster.

    • @nichtvorhanden1163
      @nichtvorhanden1163 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      i have 32 mil sp so im in no means a vet but this video makes sense to me why are you getting upset about him saying that this fit is bad. 1. sig radius of -50% or more doesnt seem ngligible 2. the gila costs 300 mil? are you proud that you can fit it with 20 mil in modules? 3. you passive tank at peak regen which is 30% of your buffer which is the same as an active fit even new shield tankers know this. 4. but you wont get more shield regen with overheat so less tank anyways. 5. at least he is helping with "VERY!!! good advice" so calling him arrogant while hes spending effort doing this video is the same to me on your part. dont be a beginner flying a gila and start with a vexor or with contend that the gila is able to overtank.

    Yeah, at one point I was experimenting with a passive shield tengu for mission running and the thing had the ehp of a battleship, the passive regen of an active fit, was fast, but the sig radius was through the roof, and it just soaked damage like crazy. People would never think how important is sig radius. Since that I use a sig tanked fit, barely any ehp, no reps, yet it is a lot more efficient in staying alive... Well, as long as it is not webbed...

    • @HawaiianForgeStudios
      @HawaiianForgeStudios 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      What I dont like about the tengu for that reason alone is if you want some damn good dps you gotta run HAMs and the javelins just dont have the damage to quickly neutralize stasis structures/frigates before you take heavy damage yourself. Loki is kinda better in that regard because you can active or jury rig a passive on it and use artillery if need be to just blap it quickly and then get out of range while making sure speed and sig is low enough.

  • @mattsayer78
    @mattsayer78 3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

    That explains it! thank you!
    Was running loads and loads of Tier 3s in Passive tank Gila and as a newbie was v proud of my fit - my 45k ehhp shields, my 110hp/s pass repair & my 550dps offensive. Then that one L3 Elec in 10-20 where the big ones (and and over mind I think) all arrive at once & i'm matchsticks. I was wondering how anybody like me could ever ever do 4-5s. Was looking at the teeny tiny %s on everything (modules, training, boosters) and getting disheartened, that it was maybe my flying that was s**t.
    Now i realise I was probably doing a good job of flying (to survive what I did) and good job of squeezing my fitting, I was just fitting the wrong way. so thank you for explaining!! I totally think I'm ready to shift to active fits :D

I did 3 different Karen rooms this week with webs and nuets in t4 today just fine. gotta heat ab on the way in before you get hard neuted to get within ~20k of Karen.

  • @Flakzor123
    @Flakzor123 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    To be fair I did some T4 and T5 abyss in a passive Gila back in 2018 but I actually preferred to rig them for max hp rather than recharge and go full damage in the lows... with genolution implants and 5% hardwirings you have 50k raw shield hp in a gamma abyss using 4 RPF LSE's alongside a mwd and a deadspace invul. (genolution is required for powergrid if mwd is used and I usually prefer ab anyway). With the nirvana implant set (which may or may not have been in the game back then, I certainly didnt have any) you can get 74k raw shield hp with t2 rigs and 4 RPF LSE's and end up with 171k-186k ehp depending on if you heat your invul or not. The reason I only had 1 invul was because it was much more resilient to heat damage than a dual invul fit (which easily top 200k+ ehp heated with nirvana set), the thing to remember is that you don't need to be att full hp at the end and you only do a minute or 2 of hard tanking in each room, that said I always disliked the recharge rigged gilas because once you go past the sweetspot of shieldregen you go down fast... the hp rigged ones take much longer to go that low and have wider "powerband" for the recharge if that makes sense. and in gamma sites with nirvana set a hp rigged gila is still looking at 500ehp shield recharge/second at its peak while dishing out 650ish dps of the correct damagetype. I did lose my Gila later that year but that was after I refitted to active tank and got overconfident running the wrong type.

And I don't use invules, only amplifers on term(usually, besause of triglavs spawns) and EM if I go to electric. 4 marshals - no problems :) Angels - just drop tractor where they web me. I can easily run a t5 in a passive gila reliably.. I can see how your concerns for that particular fit have some merit in regards to the double omni resist mods and afterburner, but the falsehoods in regard to the passive gila overall shows a bit of ignorance on your part.

    Lost two 900mil gilas (w 3 implants) ...with the passive 4x LS 1 hardener 2shield relays in lows ..to the same combo twice in a row. That is 4-6dissipators , 4-6 entanglers + Karen. The only way a passive fit will survive this combo is if you're running high-grades and thucker shields, making it a 5billion fit that's gonna struggle and slowboat it every site, praying next room is not a shitty full webber+neuters combo . Id dies to a strong neut-webbing triag room aswell. You tank 500hp/s sure..but without resists and being fully cap drained in 3 cycles , the damage received is quadrupled vs a dual battery dual hardener +SB fit, so you're stuck with gammas to get more shield buffer, downside is your killing speed is slow as fuck, so timer is going to be an issue everytime even in T4's.
    The dual cap dual hardener fit is the more idiot proof safer version, you can just ignore neuters completely if you like and focus webers ,dmg dealers first, but you're running pyth-A modules and mid-grades at least...again a 4+bil cost for 20mil a site in t4 or 40mil a site in T5.

    Uhhh....I been running T4 abyssal sites in a passive tank Gila without issue. Ran dozens of them without a loss. Learn to pilot and you won't die. The only waves you have to worry about are the Marshals and the Tyrannus. But just keep at 70km range and let your drones do the work. Go for the Arrester Marshals first with your drones. You take on any neuts with missiles. The T4 sites are routine and easy in a passive tank Gila. Either this guy doesn't know what he's talking about, or he just doesn't know how to fly a ship.

    • @ickebins6948

      No the point is, you don't have to run your shield booster all the time.
      Passiv regen is at peak at 30% shields with an active fit you don't have that problem.
      Active fits have far more cap/s so you regen much more quickly.

  • @Jesther01
    @Jesther01 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    no. you're wrong... i have runned that fit (passive gila) for months by now only in t4 because t3 is for destroyers to do... (if you do t3 in a cruiser; well god help you!) and you taking too much faith in the neults the trigs can put on you...
    They where NEVER able to run my cap dry, and i always run strait for the "karen".
    Because you're not running an active rep module and because your shield pool is so high, you really don't need to care about neults as much... by the time the webs die the day is won.
    At that moment you'll be free to orbt "karen" at close so it will not hurt you at all, and you can finish the neults off...
    Its NOT hard, its NOT rocket science and is very FAR from impossible... to be honest your active tank has a lot more chance to get fucked in the ass by the very scenario you have created than the passive one.

    I dont really see the point. Passive gila runs gamma up to T6 without serious problems, i could let my dog run a passive gila through a random typ of T3. The only room that eve broke me one was a T6 Karybdis room with 8 neut scyllas and 5 web scyllas. However this room breaks basicly everything. Active fit wouldnt even make it half the time passive gila survives in that room. your version of an active gila struggles at outrunning this immense amount of ewar as every other ship would. We can talk about how to use a passive gila and where, but in no world is a passive gila non viable. And pulling ppl asking for advice on it over their head for their descision like that makes you look more like a pretender imho.

    • @HateLesSGaming

      @@HateLesSGaming sadly have no vid of the run. Obviosly im open to get my mind changed by an explicit fit that would run it. Doesnt change my point though that your Active fit in the video would break in this case in the same way a passive would, making the "passive gila sucks because it breaks in the hardest rooms, so i show you a fit that does too" thing kinda dumb
      I make my main incomr in a passive gila, and even if i gibe the point a passive gila breaks in the described room, it still easily runs T4 electricals and T4 gammas, so its in no way non viable
