The roster is reflections of missing on draft picks and 1st round draft busts since 2016. It’s time for the front office to get good on the draft picks and getting some depth. In the meantime, Carroll provides experience and decades of knowledge to provide some development. The “young offense mind coordinator as a Head Coach” route would work if we had a QB, but we might not get a long term answer until 2026. Plus the division is loaded with QBs (Mahomes, Herbert, & Nix) & elite Head Coaches (Reid, Harbaugh, and Payton). It’s not worth giving the keys to young first time Head Coach. It will put him in a spot of failure and too hard challenges. Just let Pete take control ship and he’ll keep it steady until we find a long term answer.
I support the enthusiasm but let’s be honest. Non of those top OC’s mentioned are coming over to do the same job and downgrade for the level of roster. When they are candidates for HC jobs. Maybe Sahla willing to take DC role. But none them OC’s. And Pete won’t accept an assistant role, and hiring him means the organization needs to know he needs time to build with picks and culture. If its Pete as HC, I like Dillon Gabriel as QB due to Carrolls abilities to develop QBs as Gabriel is similiar in stature as Russell Wilson
