THANK YOU FOR THIS! This fix prevented a trip to the mechanic on my 2021 Honda cbr500ra. The delay while riding was almost 10 seconds long before flashing. Very grateful to have it working like new now
Crazy to think a video posted 3yrs ago would be the solution to the issue of a delayed turn signal activation on my 14 Fireblade SP. The irony is like many CBR's, mine too had the common issue of intermittent kill switch failure due to dirty contacts. Cleaning it with QD Cleaner fixed it (ended up still buying a new kill switch to be proactive). No idea why I didn't think to clean the contacts for the turn signals. Side note, I decided to be lazy and spray the QD cleaner into the holes on the left/right of the turn signal lever instead of disassembling the switch. I then repeatedly cycled the lever from side to side before repeating this process. This fixed the delay. Obviously the process shown in the video is a better and more thorough approach but what I did sufficed for my bike.
Tried this. Don’t work for me, but went a little deeper and took apart contacts that have springs inside switch. Stretched the spring just slightly and reassembled. This made good contact happen again and completely solved problem. Thank you for video. It got me in the right track!
OMG, this helped me a lot. I have CBF 125 and the left blinker had really bad delay. With this I fixed it. At the same time, my distant light is push on/off and it was getting stuck since I bought it. With some WD40 it is now running well! Thanks a lot!
Thanks for being one of the only people to post a video on this. My bike is relatively new 2018. I wouldn't think it needs re greased, but I installed a new relay and fender eliminator kit and this 1 second delay happened. Ill give this a try and see if it fixes it.
Perfect - this was the exact same issue with my 2000 model CBR600F - I also changed the relay first with no success - then came across your video. Solved the problem in less than 5 minutes. Great stuff. Thanks
Had this delay issue on my 2006 cbr. I ended up disassembling the switch and removing as much of the old grease as possible with contact cleaner as every time I flipped the switch over there'd be a visible layer of gunk on the actual contact points inside. Then I just re-lubed the washers trying to keep the physical action smooth. Got rid of the delay so far, though indicating to the left is slightly stiffer than indicating to the right (it was before cleaning as well).
Yeah, my 600RR has the 1000RR side mirrors (they act as led running lights with integrated turn signals). It has the integrated gear indicator in the gauge cluster, too. Good eye! I also had the entire cluster swapped to red lighting instead of amber when I had the gear indicator put in. I got the cluster work done by TripageLED.
Soverance hows the first for the side mirrors? What were some of the modifications that you did? I was thinking about buying after market side mirrors but they don’t look as good as the OEM cbr1k mirrors! I’d appreciate the info, thanks!
@@joeltnguyen Oh, mine aren't OEM 1k mirrorrs. Mine are aftermarket, because the OEM mirrors are crazy expensive. I bought them from TripageLED as well. The fit was near perfect, I had to make no modifications to install - they were completely plug and play, including the wiring (i bought the appropriate Y splitters). I personally think they look better than the OEM mirrors - you can't see the amber bulbs beneath the lens like you can on the OEM version (so they just look all clear) and you can get a smoked lens if you want. Quality of the plastic is slightly less than OEM, but it's acceptable, considering the price comparison.
My issue on my cbr1000 with completely stock turn signals is that they simply turb off and dont flash when activated. They dont flash in the cluster either.Ive replaced the relay and cleaned the switch. They have worked occasionally but it seems random. Any advice would be appreciated

definetly gonna try this, thanks.
why does your fuel pump sounds like it's constantly running?
Sweet vid man. I'm gonna try this out.
Also do you have cbr1000 side mirrors and does that cluster have an integrated shift indicator?

Why is your fuel pump just continuously priming? That will probably burn it out.
My screw stripped so I sprayed some chain cleaner fixers it right up.
take a shot every time he says "delay"
