A series of brilliant lectures, Dr Pottinger.
Where were you when I was in med school? Not yet born perhaps. After a 40 year practice and now in retirement, I appreciate the beauty of your lectures, which lies in their simplicity without compromising any essential detail. Encouraging my son to view and benefit from these valuable lectures.
    Thank you.

This just seamlessly and more effectively summarized an hour-long lecture. God bless you!

Hey mate. I think the Dog tapeworm is Dipyllidium caninum. Not Echinoccocus granulosus. E. granulosus is the hydatid worm. Can you please confirm?

Nataniel Laguitan both are dog tape worms

      Good question mate.
Echinococcus granulosus is traditionally called the “dog tapeworm”, against the traditional naming convention for beef or pork tapeworm where the name of the intermediate host is used to identify the worm. If dogs had their own intelligent culture, they would correctly name this as the human tapeworm.
Dipyllidium caninum , using the traditional convention, should be called the flea tapeworm. Because dogs and cats are the definitive or primary hosts (where sexual reproduction takes place) and fleas and lice are the intermediate or secondary hosts.
It’s all convention, tradition, and what side of creation we think we are in.
