    The video footage is great. What type of video camera and zoom do you use?

    Beware.I bought a v3 and the things flaps weren't even glued in. It flies very, very well to makeup for the repair I had to do. Also, do not push more than a 4 minute fight because mine went down 50 feet short of the runway, and the rear wheels came out. The v3 is worth it, but you do need to take precaution.

    Got mine from Banggood a couple days ago. Hooked everything up but the retracts are not working. Sequencer not functioning. Servos and retracts are working using my servo tester. Is there any trick to this?

  • @xMinecraftDiamondsx
    @xMinecraftDiamondsx 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I like the aluminum retracts. I've just heard that there have been a few defective servos in a few of the older versions of these jets. Does this have any problems that I should be aware of, Ive been saving for quite some time and I'd take this over the HSD in looks, but I'm not sure I can trust the reliability. Any advice?

    • @RCINFORMER
      @RCINFORMER  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +xMinecraftDiamondsx I have not had any problems with my V3... the servos are a improved version... Just check it thoroughly and if you should get a bad servo the dealer should replace it for you.... especially if it is FalconHobbySupply...

    from someone who has flew both planes, what would you say is the better plane. the hsd 90mm viper or the taft 90mm viper?

    • @RCINFORMER
      @RCINFORMER  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +kevinsnyder333 Both are comparable.... with the stock setups, The HSD has a higher overall top speed and a bit more power for takeoff on grass, However the Taft plane is a bit more efficient and has a slightly longer flight time....

    Freewing Stinger 90 or this Taft Viper 90...??? I like the look of the Viper better BUT, may I ask your opinion, which is the better aeroplane???

    • @the_city_rc_pilot9407
      @the_city_rc_pilot9407 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      The stinger is probably going to fly faster and freewing has better quality control. I have the Taft and it flies amazing, but it needs a little work to get it up and flying

  • @kevinsnyder333

    Hi,I bought this plane,I love the look of it,but regret buying it,I have had it 3 years and flow it 4 times,and the 4 times I have flown it,was down hill, the thing will just not take off from grass,looked on TH-cam,found this is a very common problem.i am using 5000 60c 6s.it can be upgraded at a cost of about £170,but I cannot Warrent spending that on a plane that cost £320,Taft Hobby just ignore my emails complaining,could I have your thoughts please,and any tips,cheers Paul UK

    Hey Rich, I just got my V3 Viper and was wondering how you powered up your Gear Door Sequencer? It has a BATT plug coming off of it and I'm not sure if I can power it up off of the 6s lipo somehow or not without damaging it. Please help! Thanks!

    • @RCINFORMER
      @RCINFORMER  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Alpha10 there should be a power line coming off of the ESC somewhere that powers that gear module... however it should be plugged in already.

    • @fern6978
      @fern6978 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +RCINFORMER I just got the kit plus and am running a Castle ESC with internal BEC.That's what's tripping me up

    • @RCINFORMER
      @RCINFORMER  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Alpha10 Yea, that can be the problem with using an aftermarket ESC, The stock ESC provides a dedicated power line for the new gear module. the new Gear module needs its own power to operate... i think it is 6volts or 7.4volts... If you got it from Falcon Hobby Supply, Check with Paul there as to what the correct voltage is. You can always use a seperate battery for it

    • @fern6978
      @fern6978 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      That's what I was afraid of... Running a separate lipo for it : ( Ok, I may just replace the sequencer and keep it simple/traditional then. Thanks so much for the great info and quick response! : )

    • @RCINFORMER
      @RCINFORMER  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      You may not be able to run it without the sequencer... you may blow away the retracts and start a fire if you wire them direct... im not sure because I have not tried it... check what voltage the retracts work on...

  • @xMinecraftDiamondsx
    @xMinecraftDiamondsx 8 ปีที่แล้ว

    I've heard the landing gear is not reliable nor the esc. Is it true because I would like to buy this over the HSD

    • @RCINFORMER
      @RCINFORMER  8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      not true... the gear is very strong machined aluminum... mine is all stock... esc is working fine... I have not had any esc issues with the 4 Taft jets that I have... my demo plane is flying still flying great stock!

    • @xMinecraftDiamondsx
      @xMinecraftDiamondsx 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +RCINFORMER It just arrived today! Not very happy with a few things. The flap hinges weren't even glued in! Also, the Winglets were a little chipped. Other than that I'm very content. Should I trust the PCB board?

    • @RCINFORMER
      @RCINFORMER  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      The PC board should be ok... however, it is not really needed for most things and it is easy enough to bypass it if you want to wire the important things DIRECTLY into the receiver...

    • @RCINFORMER
      @RCINFORMER  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      not sure... it has plenty of speed... the video is my plane with a stock setup.. I do not know of any EDF that has an unlimited vertical climb

    Rich...I have this jet. I have a Admiral 5000mah, 50c batt. This plane is very nose
    heavy, even when batt is shoved all the back as far as it can go ! I have also added
    3/4 ozs of tail weight to get it to fly level. It is still nose heavy. What are you using ?

    • @RCINFORMER
      @RCINFORMER  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Richard Chambless Check the CG with the gear up and down and see what the difference is... check the CG with the airplane upsidown

    • @stevensjoyce17911
      @stevensjoyce17911 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +RCINFORMER poor reply he said the plane willnot fly level with te battery all the way back checking the cg willnot change that!!

    • @RCINFORMER
      @RCINFORMER  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      The CG will change that... Changing the CG will require a change in elevator trim & the stability of the model... When you say "will not fly level" please describe that better so I know what the plane is doing.... or just call me, it is way easier:)

      Not Sure who is selling these in the US anymore but you can possibly order via our Sponsor Turbines-RC as they ship to the US from France and their shipping is usually cheaper than shipping from China (I have heard that prices seem to vary between $70-$130 for airfreight depending on the model but i have not confirmed that). Send them an Email and let them know Rich sent you and see if they can order one in as they sell a number of Taft Hobby Aircraft already.

    Nice plane, but Lordy! I wish you guys would cut the crappy music. We want to hear the sweet sounds of that EDF, not somebody's garage band. Adds nothing - detracts much.

  • @RBXXXX
    @RBXXXX 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    that's it 4to5 mins. flight time what fun is that not worth the money until they can make one that flies at least 30mins tops

    • @RCINFORMER
      @RCINFORMER  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +charles john most do not fly more than 7 to 10... it has been that way for decades... and we all have fun flying them... do you fly RC? it sounds like you dont

    • @RBXXXX
      @RBXXXX 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      I fly drones and was hoping to apply the technology to Rc Jets but with that flying it's not worth it. One would think that with the technology would have got better with flight time

    • @RCINFORMER
      @RCINFORMER  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      charles john Eventually it will be better... Drone motors do not draw as much as an EDF. Speed & size always comes at a cost...

    The landing gear works fine, the design of, and the reliability of the steering IS the worst ever. I don't know what battery you're using but with a fully charged 4500mah 50c battery, the Viper I have is a dog. It maybe does 70mph...

    • @RCINFORMER

      You can hear the plane just fine even with the music:)

  • @jeffwoodall2039

    Front landing gear is the worst design I've ever seen, and the video has been sped up up. I bought one of these and very much regret it.

    • @RCINFORMER
      @RCINFORMER  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      The nose gear works fine for me, I still have the airplane, and the ENTIRE VIDEO is in NORMAL speed.... NO part of the video has been sped up in any way...
