Giving you a heads-up about the sound! I have been recently updating my gear a lot which has asked a huge amount of adjusting my audio set-ups. Ofc I'm always checking the levels before filming but somehow the YT audio was overpowering on this one. So please don't butcher me on that one, thx!🎵❤
Was lovely & wow you're sound looking mighty fine as usual & there so beautiful 😀 anyways they are a great band. I loved how you felt the rhythm & mood woth your arms just free & you. That's inspiring for people to get out of their heads never minding critics that would dampen the mood the troll mood suckers. Hopefully you dont get them. Great review 🤗😀👏
Most people miss the fact that Tim is singing high harmony over Rob in the counter-melody at the end. Not bad for the group’s primary bass. How high can Tim go? Listen to “Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow/Stay.” Home Free’s newest, “Brother,” is amazing vocally, and epically hilarious in the video. Would love to see your reaction to that, too! I hope you will also explore VoicePlay. They are great in their own way. I love them and Home Free both.
Tim only hit his falsetto once... which is somewhere around the 30 second mark in the original Home Free video... everything else is still his chest voice...
How high can Tim sing? Now you have to watch Tim's "Will You Love Me Tomorrow/Stay" mashup th-cam.com/video/8bN9bgwR0DI/w-d-xo.html, and Austin and Tim sing "My Maria" th-cam.com/video/ozGxXndcV9g/w-d-xo.html.
Adam Rupp also helps with the versatility of range. In their new cover of The Dubie Brother's "Listen to the Music", Adam starts off with these really beautiful vocal sighs (almost whale tones.) Then in the breakdown, you hear him slide from the high tone to a synthesized sounding bass on a bass drop. It is astounding. Chance also can sing tenor. You catch a glimpse of it in "Can't Stop the Feeling" or my personal favorite to hear Chance's ability to blend and range, "Wayfairing Stranger" by Adam Chance and The Hound and the Fox.
Good lord you are beautiful Anna! You should definitely check out some of Tim Fousts solo stuff. I suggest Tomorrow/Stay or Come Go With Me. You will love it! I can sing dang close to Tims range I love signing!!! Enjoy the Homefree Rabbit hole!!!
Home Free’s take on Brothers in Arms is the arrangement made by the Finnish a cappella group Club For Five with some tweaks. I’m sure Anna is familiar with them and their music.
@@tarjaikola Did not know this, thanks for letting me know. I watched Club for Five's version and it is just as good. Also did not see that in Home Free's video they credit them for the arrangement.
00:57 I _adore_ the way you start "let[ting] the music move you around," as Billy Preston put it, when Adam begins beatboxing. 03:56 I don't believe they are, although I wouldn't put it past Adam if he thought the song required it. (In American, body percussion is sometimes called "hambone-ing," and dates to before our Civil War, in the latter part of the 1700s.) 06:30 Tim is said to have a range from C0 to E5. I'd believe just almost every note of it. 06:45 I would call Chance a bass-baritone, and Tim a basso profundo. Chance's voice is very fine, only he doesn't have Tim's subterranean range. My opinion of your reaction is that I greatly enjoy watching you immerse yourself into a song BEFORE you let your analytical, coaching brain come in and talk about how they're doing the thing they do.
About Home Free, what can I say? if you make 100 videos about them, 100 times I will applaud you with all my heart, because I think they are wonderful artists.
Calling this group versatile is an understatement. I think I've counted 13 genres or sub-generes so far. They just swap parts, beats, and can actually drop their accents. Each new song is a treat, because they will do something new every time. We never know what is next.
This song is one of my favorites. We usually ask reactors to wait to react to this song till they are familiar with the individual members. Then they are surprised at hearing the switch ups in the voices. Tim who is known for his bass can sing in a beautiful higher tenor voice along with Austin & Rob. And Chance can hit the lower bass notes when needed. Adam did a fabulous job as always with his vocal percussion. The original song is sung by a woman Cam, so they sung it in a higher key to match the original range.
Your expression at the beginning of the video is priceless when Tim started. You should hear his doowop covers...... Homefree always offer good and sometimes different arrangements, keeps it fresh. They are fortunate that Tim, Chance, Rob, and Austin can switch singing different musical parts,( bass, baritone, tenor 1 & 2 ect. Very versatile and gives them the ability to produce different genres and styles....... smart as a group to do this. As always Anna, your professional, to the point and enjoyable to listen to why your explaining each performance. Don't stop your way to good at this. Take care of yourself until next time.
😂 Yup I definitely needed a moment there... Thank you for your kind words and I'll be checking more HF in the future for sure! Have a great week Todd! ❤️
I knew you will love this. Now you need to check their versions of "End of the Road", "When a man loves a woman", and a personal favorite, "Colder Weather"
Adam Rupp also has great voice. You can here it in the song of How Great Thou Art. By the way its my favorite song by Home Free. And the video is beautifule.
Anna, thanks again for an authentic and terrific reaction. I remain intrigued by your switching between languages. Please bringing us your Home Free reactions. Tim and Austin have some beautiful covers together and individually.
Interesting to see how your body & emotions get taken over by the music, & that you always find so much joy in the talent/song/frequencies & sounds. Thank you.🙏
Tim was just showing off his 5 octave range for ya! Love this song. Home Free did a great job. Chance does the bass when Tim does his tenor voice. It really makes the group versatile. Loved the beatboxing by Adam. Great reaction! They are known for their harmonies. Helplessly Hoping, Brothers in Arms, Die a Happy Man, One Man Band.
Love this version! It’s so good! My personal favorite Home Free song is Blue Ain’t Your Color, you get a lot more of Adam Chance singing in it as well! Another good one is Castle on the Hill too!
you have only scratched surface of the talent Home Free can do! A couple guys in Home Free also do their own music, (singing on their own) Tim and Austen have a few nice releases that really show their RANGE. A must watch!!!
There's no doubt of that! I have soo many songs from HF in my reaction list and so far I haven't found a bad one! Excited to see and hear more from them! xx
Oh my ! Acapella reaction, love it. Takes me back 3 or 4 decades when we as a group would sing after an orchestral performance, an oncore for the audience. The reactions of the people were priceless and usually ended up being another 30 minutes of singing. Most of the time the audience was more impressed with our singing because it was unexpected, different and I would say nostalgic, usually tunes from ww1 and ww2. Often the whole audience would join in and sing along.........Magical!
I totally enjoy listening to your reactions. You add so much information. So maybe I can add some for you. This song was done in the same key as Cam used. Chance was singing bass to Tim's tenor. Tim had been singing in the tenor range until his voice changed, which happened very late. In this group there are 5 tenors, 2+ basses, 5 possible baritones, at least 2 countertenors, several people who can whistle, yodel, or growl, and 1 master beatboxer with 4 assistants. The range of each member is what makes the sound so full. Adam Chance Vocal Range - F♯1-F5 Adam Rupp Vocal Range - B0-G♯6 Austin Brown Vocal Range - E♭1- C6 Rob Lundquist Vocal Range - B1-G#5 Tim Foust Vocal Range - G0 - A5
LOVE the versatility of our amazingly talented fellas!! 🥰. Every member of Home Free could absolutely be a solo ⭐ star ⭐ but their harmonies together are MAGIC!! ❣️🎼🥰🎶❤️ I'd love to see you react to two of their newest releases: "Listen to the Music" and "Brother". Seems so highly improbable but they get better and better with every new song!!
Anna...a great group and a great song and then you had to go and do the best analysis ever. You are always so full of such in depth thinking and you also sing so perfectly well too. It is a pleases listening to you in Finnish and English at times. Thank you!!!!!!
I’d love to hear what you think about Home Frees Brothers in arms; when a man loves a woman (Austin - wow!). And this weeks release of Brother which shows their goofy sides. And have you listened to Voiceplay? Or Voctave? They are all really wonderful in so many ways. The Bass Gang too.

Really enjoyed your reaction...you have a beautiful voice also.🙂 Home Free just released a really fun cover of the 70's Rock hit "Listen to The Music" (Doobie Brothers)...and they absolutely nailed it...would love to see you react to it.👍
Wow - Just found your channel and I have to say, your analyses are better than almost anyone's. Very good work. In this one, I appreciated how Home Free tried to stay in the same key as Cam. Not easy when covering a woman's original. I believe Tim's range goes from B0 to G#5.
I loved the look on your face when you realized that Tim was singing lead tenor at the start of the song. To hear what Tim can do and see where his range tops out listen to his solo cover of Will You Still Love Me/Stay. He layers his own voice in all the harmonies and hits his highest notes as well as his low ones.
This was the first time I’ve seen your reactions and I really enjoyed it (so I subscribed)! I like the way you listened to the song first then went back and did the analysis. The parts you picked out were very interesting. I think you would enjoy Home Free’s cover of “When a Man Loves a Woman”. Austin Brown sings lead and they do an amazing job.
Anna, your analysis helps people who are not singers and have no knowledge of technique and how singers handle dynamics. I have not sung with the chorale for many years, but hearing you breaking things down brought back my time singing with my group.
Tim Foust can comfortably sing in 5 octaves. He has said that Adam Rupp actually has a broader range. In a recent video Rupp provides some E5 notes to open and close the song, Listen to the Music.
Each of these guys are phenomenally talented alone. What always amazes me is how the sum is greater than the parts and how willing each has to be to step back and let the others shine. I love that you took the time to learn the members and their usual roles in the group before reacting to this song. If you want to see Tim showing off a bit while having fun, his solo mashup of "Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow/Stay" will make you question reality.
These Men are so talented! And who does not like Tim?! It would be great to sing again; This group gives vibes of singing with them. I barely missed you in the premiere Anna, 2-3 mins. My loss...again. As usual, I learned something. It amazes me as to some of the little nuances and sounds you hear and pick up on. Really looking forward to the next time I hear your voice!
Anna, very nice reaction, enjoyed it very much. You are very pleasant to listen to and enjoy your input and opinions. Thank you for reacting to another Home Free selection. 🙂
Listen to Austin and Tim sing 'My Maria'. Another demonstration of just how many octaves Tim's voice spans. As an aside, I spent some time in Helsinki and even though I was there in late December, January and February, I loved it. Who needs daylight anyway. I love amateur hockey and there were more games than I had time to watch. The young people I hung out with were some of the happiest people I've met in Europe. The older people seemed just the opposite. It was kinda of sad. If I could afford it, I would love to live there.
Fantastinen reaktio suomalaiselta kotipaistoltamme. Rakastin yllättynyttä ilmettä kasvoillasi Timin tenorin alussa. Ole hyvä ja tee lisää Home Free. Saanko ehdottaa heidän cover-versioitaan kappaleista I Can't Outrun You ja Cover Me Up.
As usual great reaction and I love the way you break down what is going on. I did want to tell you that Diana Ankudinova has a new song out that is the first time she has wriiten the lyrics and the music for it is called "Revelation" and then on the 12th she has another one coming out so now your up to date. I think if you ever wanted to see what she is capable of as an artist she will show you in this new song it shows her heart and soul.
Nice to have you react again to Homefree. I'm always amazed how fast you can switch your language back and forth. Tim can hit a D5, maybe higher. You should listen to Tim, Will you still love me tomorrow/Stay. I hope you review more Homefree. Stay well and be safe. Your prime minister is a rocker. So cool.
Welcome Home, Anna!!! ❤ You looked like you had a blast @ the TOA festival, but we sure missed you while you were gone. So we're glad to have you back, and can't wait to see what new reactions you have going forward. I can only spend so much time re-watching your old ones! ~Pakkomielle
Excellent work Anna. You have keen eyes & ears for these analyses, & also convey your knowledge so well.... so it's a bonus treat to see your enthusiasm for music done well, like this high quality cover from Home Free. Best wishes from a random subscriber in Scotland! :)
I enjoy watching Home Free reactions from time to time just to watch everyone's different perspectives. I can honestly say you have to be one of my favorite reactors that I have seen. The way you break down their stylistic choices and really appreciate the versatility in all of their voices is refreshing! Also switching from Finnish to English without skipping a beat and still conveying everything perfectly is fantastic! Definitely will be watching some other reactions of yours :) Cheers!
Anna,I love your analysis and how you pick out the pitch and explain what the singers are doing with their voices. I love that you show your emotions while reviewing the song. Also, you have such a beautiful, and warm voice. You are very spirited! Very nice!!❤❤❤
It is quite an experience listening to these very talented singers, and performers, and Anna is into the journey with all her heart, and lets the performance play to perfection with her style, and authentic reaction. Thank you!....Miss Anna.
Tim sang tenor for one of his previous vocal groups and Chance sang bass for his previous vocal group so they can be versatile. They do great covers, sometimes real classic songs like Take Me Home Country Road, Listen to the Music and Unchained Melody. I like their version of Folsom prison blues.
Acapella melodic groove experience, Home Free never dissapoints. Moi Anna, mayday mayday, help me please! Proud to be a Rob, only my last name is not Lundquist. What a terrific vocal harmony in different tone settings of all the singers. Why is the song so short, listening all day to Home Free is absolutely no punishment.
I have to give you credit for always hearing things few other people do and analyzing to perfection. Hence the reason everybody wants to hear your opinion.
It is not often I am hearing a performance for the first time along with a "reactor/analyst," but, I have to say it was a treat to watch your reaction/analysis while I was seeing it for the first time, too. It gave me new respect for the challenges you face and also how well you do your job! Especially I appreciate the level of effort you "invest" in the subtitles for your listeners. Sooo much extra effort in your reactions compared to other reactors. Yours are always on such a much higher technical level than the average. Thanks for this special reaction experience. I will look for your reactions first to performances I have not seen just because this was such a better experience than I could have imagined otherwise. What a treat! Keep them coming! Sorry if this sounds selfish, but, what can I say? You have only so much time to produce such high level content and I respect your time as well. Just know your extra effort is not going unnoticed! AND, yes, I have to agree, it helps to react to such high quality talent as Home Free constantly invests in their performances. It DOES tend to bring out the best in us as well. I absolutely LOVE being able to experience the best in the world's music and artists with the best in the world's reactors!
I love hearing you speak in Finnish. My mother’s first language. My parents met at the Finn hall in Chicago in the 1930’s. Not many speak Finn anymore. I heard this song so many times. Love it and your explanations.
FYI, they guys sang this song in the original key that Cam sang it in, probably why the guys are singing so high. Would love to see more Home Free reactions!
This was a vocal treat for sure. Its nice to see you so in tune with this masterpiece, so aware of all the elements and able to break them down for us. For me this is great, beautiful music and your expertise to ensure we are able to appreciate what you are sharing with us. I think this is why were all here. Wonderful start to my day Thank you.
Ms. Vaskelainen, I wonder if you would indulge this old donkey with a few covers by Home Free, such as 'Colder Weather,' 'Blue Ain't Your Colour,' 'In The Blood,' 'Brother,' along with one of Austin Brown's solos 'Bring Him Home' from Les Miserables... I truly enjoy your understanding and love for good music.
Hey Anna! Good to see you back feeling the music. My first view of your vids is always muted just to see if I can guess the groove from your moves. Guessed right again, haha! When I listened with sound on, at 8:14 you did something really nice. You added the grit in "You gotta love me", turning it into "You GOT to". The guy should've listened to you first, instead of the other way around 🙃 Ty for another lovely reaction and analysis. Cheers from Amsterdam!
Thank you so much for a tremendous reaction. If you have not reacted to brother by Home Free yet that is certainly one you may wanna see. It’s very entertaining.
What I find boggling, is that Geoff Castelucci, Tim Faust, and Scott Hoying are all baritenors! Great reaction, love the professional perceptions leaking through :)
Austin studied musical theater and that additional training often shows in the choices he makes. I know that Tim also had some formal training while he was in school, but I don't know how much formal training the others have had.
This is so awesome. Tim has a 5-octave range. You have to love Home Free. You should check out Tim's song Will You Love Me Tomorrow/Stay. He really shows his vocal range. Love your reaction!

Home Free is 5 tenors, 2 baritone, 2 bass. And a drum kit. And the best ever.
. 😉🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
😂❤️
They're awesome!! Love hearing you talk
Another great reaction, Anna! Great to see you enjoying Home Free so much! (Sure wish I could sing like that)
This was the first time I’ve seen your reactions and I really enjoyed it (so I subscribed)! I like the way you listened to the song first then went back and did the analysis. The parts you picked out were very interesting. I think you would enjoy Home Free’s cover of “When a Man Loves a Woman”. Austin Brown sings lead and they do an amazing job.
Hi Patty, thank you for your kind comment! 😊 I'm happy to know you enjoyed this video so much!
Thank you for your suggestion! xx
And about your analysis... I'll wait until this afternoon to see it. 😜
These Men are so talented!
And who does not like Tim?!
It would be great to sing again;
This group gives vibes of singing with them.
I barely missed you in the premiere
Anna, 2-3 mins. My loss...again.
As usual, I learned something.
It amazes me as to some of the
little nuances and sounds you
hear and pick up on.
Really looking forward to the
next time I hear your voice!
Anna, very nice reaction, enjoyed it very much. You are very pleasant to listen to and enjoy your input and opinions. Thank you for reacting to another Home Free selection. 🙂
I love the way you "conducted," participated in this song. I put on closed captions so I could enjoy your full reaction .
😂 Glad you like my conducting! Sometimes I just can't help myself with that.
I do that with music too. Usually in the car while driving.
Anna great job with your reaction and analysis of Mayday from Home free.Glad to see your back from the Music Festival.
❤️
So cool.
Once again, Anna's passion for music emanates in her reactions. Just as enjoyable as the musical performance itself !! Kiitos.
Welcome Home, Anna!!! ❤
You looked like you had a blast @ the TOA festival, but we sure missed you while you were gone. So we're glad to have you back, and can't wait to see what new reactions you have going forward. I can only spend so much time re-watching your old ones!
~Pakkomielle
Thank you for such a sweet welcome message! Happy to be back! ❤️❤️❤️
Excellent work Anna. You have keen eyes & ears for these analyses, & also convey your knowledge so well.... so it's a bonus treat to see your enthusiasm for music done well, like this high quality cover from Home Free.
Best wishes from a random subscriber in Scotland! :)
Nå,hyvää iltaa !
Love your reactions !
Keep up the good work !
👍👍👍🇸🇪😎💕
Just subscribed because of your total immersion in the music and technical reaction ☺️ from the US
I enjoy watching Home Free reactions from time to time just to watch everyone's different perspectives.
The beautiful Anna is back and it makes my day! Hi Anna dear! My bet is Anna is dancing around her place to this song
after the reaction...lol😎
Your bet was on point!!!
It is quite an experience listening to these very talented singers, and performers, and Anna is into the journey with all her heart, and lets the performance play to perfection with her style, and authentic reaction. Thank you!....Miss Anna.
Happy to serve! xx
Interesting!
👼 Now you are talking, this is my kind of music! 😁 One of My Favorite ACAPELLA CHRISTIAN GROUPS! 😇
Greetings from the U.S.A. I love this group too. You have an excellent analysis method. I am now a great fan of Finland!
Thank you for your kind words! Warms greetings to U.S.A! xx
I'm all smiles here now! Thx Michael! ❤️
This comment absolutely made my day, Dan! THANK YOU ❤️❤️❤️
Great reaction! Homefree just keeps getting better
I haven't heard a bad song from them! It's crazy!
I love hearing you speak in Finnish. My mother’s first language. My parents met at the Finn hall in Chicago in the 1930’s. Not many speak Finn anymore. I heard this song so many times. Love it and your explanations.
Ohh well I'm glad to awaken your inner Finn again mr peanut! 😊
❤️
Love your reactions. Please check out Austin Brown & Tim Foust singing "My Maria", it's one of my favorites.
You, as well as the music, enriches my soul. Thank you.
❤️
So strange. I love instruments, but with these guys, I don't miss them. Thank you, Adam and all
You will squeal with delight over Tim's redux of "I've Seen."
I've always liked Finnish, but funny how now I really want to learn it. Love your reactions!
Cheers from Amsterdam!
awww hahah well that's a different way to enjoy my reactions for sure! 😂❤️ Cheers Brendon and have a great week! xx
Thank you so much for a tremendous reaction. If you have not reacted to brother by Home Free yet that is certainly one you may wanna see. It’s very entertaining.
Thx! 😊 Good suggestion!
Tim and Chance kind of throws you off switching up like that. They are all so super talented.
What I find boggling, is that Geoff Castelucci, Tim Faust, and Scott Hoying are all baritenors!
Great reaction, love the professional perceptions leaking through :)
The Joy on your face said it ALL.
Please react to home free-when a man loves a woman. I think you’ll like it.
Hello Anita how are you doing
I agree! You need to react to "Listen to the Music"! You will be very happy you did!
Great group. Great analysis, as usual, Anna!
Thanks Douglas! ❤️
I've heard Tim has a 5 octave range. Simply amazing talent!
Favorite Home Free song! And love the reaction to Chance at the end!😄
😂🙈
They're all hitting that high register!
Love your reactions and explanations. That’s why I’ve just subscribed. 😊
Thank you so much and welcome to my music family! 🥰
