Thanks just booked my flight today headed there next week and this video really narrowed down the hotels for me to choose from. You just earned another subscriber... good job 👏
Welcome to Colombia! ;-)
Thanks Frank. I have just found your channel a couple of weeks ago, so I reach your videos a little late. I love videos about Colombia and I watch a lot of them. What I love about your channel is the narration. It is always interesting and not too much (no over talking). And I like it's vibe. So thanks and keep up the good work.
Love your video but it would be nice to include the safety surrounding these hotels.
Great Intel! Thank you very much for your research work and for sharing the valuable information contained in your video.
I be in Medellin in a month. I can't wait to come.
I stayed at the Dann Carlton when I was there last year. A very beautiful and upscale place.
it is one of the top hotels of the city
Stayed there many times Dann Carlton. Nice pool.
What's the guest policy there
@@digviju001 they might request the companion provide her cedula (federal ID card) at front desk. The staff is accommodating, the property is secure. You can be sure there are cameras and protocols if something happens.
@@digviju001 if you want to bring in a “guest” it was $30USD and they need to check their ID.
Hey frank im travleling to colombia in vacation thx for the video
Thanks for the info. I certainly would recommend the Hampton by Hilton in Poblado. I stayed there just before the Pandemic. It is in a great location, has nice rooms and gives you a nice breakfast. I have stayed at these hotels in several locations throughout Colombia and all are great. You also can not go wrong withe the Dann Carlton. I stayed there in Cartagena and it was one of the best hotels I have ever stayed at.
Thanks for sharing!
Very informative video 👏, I d like to visit that city.
great thx, yes you should
Fantastic review.

Yo amigo! This video was awesome! Thank you. I'm going to Medellin in the next couple of weeks and want to stay at a luxury hotel a couple weekends there. A cheap AirBnb during the week and a something de lujo los findes you knowww 😁😂 I appreciate all the details - you got a new sub :D
happy to help
I've been to Medellin 4 times and soon to be 5 times. Each time, it was for a week or more. I stayed at the Dann Carlton 3 times and once at The Charlee. When I am able to get vaccinated and travel to Medellin in the coming weeks, I will be staying at The Charlee again (in a jacuzzi room, again).
Some o the hotels you feature look interesting. The Somos, for instance, looks great, but I will probably just stay at The Charlee exclusively in the future. By the way, I was extremely surprised that The Charlee was not mentioned. The gringos and locals I have spoken to generally concede it as the best hotel in Medellin with second place being a tossup between Dann Carlton and The Intercontinental (depending on the preference one puts on pool scenes, location, and reliable business luxury).
Thoughts on Dann Carlton: I stayed in a basic room twice and a suite once. The suite was very nice but was on a lower floor; I have heard that there are luxury VIP suites on the top floor. The VIP suites are not listed on online booking services like Expedia. I would recommend the suite I stayed at over the basic rooms as one of the basic rooms was dirty, shabby, and well-worn. The price difference between a basic room and a suite isn't that much with a suite price being comparable to a basic room in a business-class hotel in a medium-sized city in the US. Overall, the Dann Carlton is very solid. I loved meeting new friends at the pool, drinking at the pool, and going running on the treadmills overlooking the pool.
The Charlee was spectacular. The location can't be beat. The restaurant and room service food was equally fantastic. The roof bar was amazing. I had the best gin and tonic of my life. Everyone knows the gym is fantastic and that the beautiful people and hip people of Medellin get memberships there. The only downside of The Charlee, that I am aware of, is that the jacuzzi temperature of the room I stayed at could not be adjusted, and it was borderline cold.
I was also surprised that you have not done a segment devoted to San Andres Island.
Thx for the great comment. As mentioned in the intro, some Hotels have not been able or willing to receive me to get this type of promotion.
I consider San Andres as a failed tourist destination and do not see a big potential for quality tourism, it therefore was never a priority. Anyway, we are going to publish a blog on our website soon, written by a islander.
cheers from Bogota
Frank
@@COLOMBIAFRANK I'll reconsider going to San Andres. Frankly, I'm not very interested in going to Cartagena.
I just got tickets to SAI. Why do you consider it a failed tourist destination?
What's the guest policy there?
@@digviju001 I think guests have to register. My guest never registered after multiple visits (?). Really, I don't know the specifics. I met someone that hooked up w/ a local they met on instagram. They rendezvoused at the pool bar on the roof. Did they register? I don't know.
Thanks for info!
I am happy to help
