I liked hearing about your health circumstances growing up...and how she dealt with it. And I can relate somewhat to her pregnancy with Andy...except it was my son that went Code Pink...the epidural made his heart stop so I had to have an emergency c-section. It was really amazing seeing the woman behind the Lawrence Brothers. I have the utmost praise for you Mrs. Lawrence and if I am half the mother you are, I will consider myself blessed. 🙏 Happy Mother's Day 🌷

Always rooting for the Lawrence brothers growing up because i also had two younger brothers. (One passed 2 years ago.) 😢Middle brother. I had a lot of illness and trauma growing up and am glad I had Joey and his brothers to look up to because it probably kept me on the right track longer. Stay blessed. Born in '87, so I've literally grown up my entire life watching you guys. I've loved it all from family movies to comedy tv shows with jokes more geared towards older audiences. Just want to say how wonderful it is to be able to see you 3 together without a script. You're all very talented men & it's wonderful to see how close you all are in real life, not just on screen. I'm the baby of 7, with my parents married since '68 & wish I had this kind of relationship with my siblings. Andy, as the baby, I have to say I completely feel you, with some of your facial expressions, as your older brothers talk over you & tell embarrassing baby stories😂.

My daughter was the same as Joey. She started saying "Nana," consistently at 6 months old. By the time she was 10 months she could count to 10, sing twinkle twinkle (in the tune of Merle Haggard's Twinkle Twinkle Lucky Star) and the ABC'S. When she turned 1, i bought her a little Mickey Mouse carry along cassette player with a microphone. Her dad & I were watching an Elvis special one night while she was in bed, all of a sudden she was in the den doorway with her cassette player & microphone dancing & singing along with Elvis! The next day, i dug out my old Elvis cassettes for her to play and sing along with in her little cassette player! When she was 2 years old, she sang her first solo at church, which was "I Wonder How Mary Felt". There wasn't a dry eye in our tiny country Nazarene Church, of 30 people on Easter Sunday, 1996! She's sang it in our church every Easter Sunday since. Plus she went to college on music/singing scholarships! She's sang at a lot of different places, church, Jamborees, festivals, rodeos, contests and school events but just never got that one big break with someone hearing her so she could've been a famous singer, nor did I have the money to make it happen. I was a pre-k/kindergarten teacher, plus i worked at Walmart after school, and the nursing home in my hometown on weekends. I also raised baby goats and bought baby calves to raise to sell to make money. I milked the nannies twice a day to feed our baby calves and the kids sucked during the day. We also broke and trained barrel horses and ran/run barrels at rodeo's. Plus, plus, i raised chickens & ducks for their eggs to eat/sell & I butchered the roosters for us to eat. No wonder I'm so tired still today lol.❤❤❤
It's truly a blessing to be in the entertainment industry and maintain such close family bonds. That's not typical. Your Mom is clearly a reason for that. It's refreshing to see 😊.

This episode had me laughing so hard my face hurt and tears were flowing from my eyes!!! I really needed this laugh!!! I will be 37 years old on June 27th and I have lost both my mother and father. My father passed away in October of 1989 when I was 3 years old and My mother passed away back in September 2022. This will be the first mother's day Mom won't be here to celebrate and it has become the norm with father's day. Please make sure both your parents are talking care of themselves. Happy Mother's Day Donna. My favorite story had to be the one about Andy wearing his superhero costumes everywhere and Donna having to bribe him by allowing him to wear his costumes under his regular clothes to get him to wear his regular clothes. Also, Joey I can relate to the allergy thing. I found out at the age of 36 years old I am allergic to tree nuts. I have to make an appointment with an allergist but what happened is Mom went into the hospital and about two or three days later I had eaten a handful of cashews. I turned red and broke out into hives and my chest tightened up. My oldest sister and I are thinking it was more of a stress induced reaction more than a actual reaction. I went to the hospital via ambulance and they gave me Benadryl and epinephrin in the ambulance. I believe they gave me another shot of either benadryl or epinephrine in the emergency room. After I returned to normal they released me to come home.
Great episode! I miss the days of family programming and movies that did not sexualize teens. Those were the movies that let me grow up with harmless crushes in a purely normal childhood that I wish my kids could experience. Get your mom back in the studio!

Texas girl here...i used to be the graphic design for a very high-end beef and cattle company here. No hormones or antibiotics added. But Andy is correct about the "finish" right before the cattle are slaughtered/harvested. Unfortunately, if the marbling in the meat is choice or prime, you are eating grain- finished. A lot of high-end restaurants that would buy our beef would lie and say that our beef was grass fed only. Nope. Grain-finished. Organic and mixed with the sorghum and cotton they grew on the ranch. Grass-fed only for most of their life, until the end. All about the marbling. Also, a big reason cattle are given antibiotics in the first place, is because they get sick distress when they are seperated (mothers and babies). People take the babies away and sell. So the company I worked for, would wean, by fence separation. The mother's could still see their babies and vice versa, so it wasn't such a massive change for either.

Look how Joey is dragging and looks so tired and worn out. I relate this to raising the kids, and then he gets fired up and his whole face lights up and he gets a burst of energy and he gets animated, his eyes are wide and full of joy. Then he goes back to trying to stay awake. LOL You can truly see the different dynamics of the oldest, middle and youngest child in the family. This makes me miss hanging out with my brothers and sisters. Between my brother's wife putting a wedge in our family, Covid & my mom passing it's been a few years since we have all gotten along. I went to the hospital via ambulance and they gave me Benadryl and epinephrin in the ambulance. I believe they gave me another shot of either benadryl or epinephrine in the emergency room. After I returned to normal they released me to come home.
Great episode! I miss the days of family programming and movies that did not sexualize teens. Those were the movies that let me grow up with harmless crushes in a purely normal childhood that I wish my kids could experience. Get your mom back in the studio!

Texas girl here...i used to be the graphic design for a very high-end beef and cattle company here. No hormones or antibiotics added. But Andy is correct about the "finish" right before the cattle are slaughtered/harvested. Unfortunately, if the marbling in the meat is choice or prime, you are eating grain- finished. A lot of high-end restaurants that would buy our beef would lie and say that our beef was grass fed only. Nope. Grain-finished. Organic and mixed with the sorghum and cotton they grew on the ranch. Grass-fed only for most of their life, until the end. All about the marbling.
Also, a big reason cattle are given antibiotics in the first place, is because they get sick distress when they are seperated (mothers and babies). People take the babies away and sell. So the company I worked for, would wean, by fence separation. The mother's could still see their babies and vice versa, so it wasn't such a massive change for either.

Look how Joey is dragging and looks so tired and worn out. I relate this to raising the kids, and then he gets fired up and his whole face lights up and he gets a burst of energy and he gets animated, his eyes are wide and full of joy. Then he goes back to trying to stay awake. LOL
You can truly see the different dynamics of the oldest, middle and youngest child in the family. This makes me miss hanging out with my brothers and sisters. Between my brother's wife putting a wedge in our family, Covid & my mom passing it's been a few years since we have all gotten along. I didn't realize how much I missed my siblings until I saw you guys hanging out. So thank you for these podcasts!
