The father was correct: Jane Doe was likely an innocent who was tortured because of mass hysteria and paranoia. This is what turned her into a real witch.
John and Jane Doe are names used for people who have not been identified. So if a dead person comes into the coroners office they will refer to her as John/Jane Doe. Same with hospitals and Jails, person with no Identification are listed as John/Jane Doe as well. Not sure why they chose that name though.

Especially if she didn't want them to cut her open in the beginning? And in the end why hasn't she healed? Or did the twitching toe indicate she came back to life ,for real this time? And what exactly was the ritual for? Or did the ritual pass on to the dad and Jane is now fine and he os cursed?
From what I understand after watching this movie for like 4 times already, here's my thoughts. 1. There never was any storm. Jane Doe just was messing with them. The radio in the end confirmed it. 2. She killed the son because before she could finish her ritual on the dad (the dad should've died from her revenge), but instead he died because his son mercy killed him. 3. They were never a target for Jane Doe, merely victims along the way because the cop brought her body to them for autopsy (her victims should've been someone else/maybe the new owner of the house she was found under). 4. Her twitching her toe showing that the ritual is almost complete. 5. She was never a witch, a victim of a ritual herself but due to it she became a "witch" by killing others for years just to become alive again. 6. There's no curse on people, just Jane Doe killing for the sake of her own ritual (to fix herself). Just like she was messing with the father and son, she did the same with her previous victims to the point that everyone started to kill each other (just like the dad unknowingly killed the son's gf bcuz he thought it was the corpse). 6. No one else knew about the truth of Jane Doe except the dad and son due to them performing the autopsy on her, and again they weren't supposed to be her victims but because they did the autopsy on her and she had already fixed some part of herself from the killings of her previous victims, she got mad because they messed her up again without them realizing it. She tried to warn them not to do it by the radio saying "this is not something u want to get stuck with" or something along that line. But they did it anyway, so that's when shit happened.
