  • Hey, friends! This video gave me a run for my money trying to edit and post it! BUT we finally got it!! WOO HOO! I'm so proud of the cleaning I got done in this video, I was feeling motivated and productive and I have YOU to thank! Getting the camera out is a HUGE motivation for me to get stuff done! This video is 3 days worth of cleaning, so I hope you'll get the motivation you need to clean! Remember, cleaning 1 dish in your sink is progress!!
I am so proud of you, and don't be so hard on yourself!

I really wish there were more people like this in the world who were not only honest to the core about who they are but accepting at the same time. There isn’t enough of us!!! We should have group chats/texts and be there as in support for one another in whatever way is needed. I am so tired of reading about someone taking their life over things in life like not being accepted for who they are or their depression things that they felt like they had no one to turn to or even talk to about their problems ect.

Thank you so much for this, Angi! I definitely teared up! As someone whose been in those really low points numerous times, it hurts me even more when I hear about it. I think we need some support too! I'm slowly learning how to speak positively to myself and accept me fully for who I am! It's an every day battle but I'm doing better! I appreciate these types of comments more than I could ever say! 💛

I just wanna say that I really appreciate your content. I struggle daily and even my spouse doesn't really get it most of the time. It's an isolating feeling. I get that it takes a lot of courage to yourself on the internet these days, and for that I admire you. People like you with kind hearts and an accepting mindset are what this world needs more of. I don't mean to gush or anything lol, but there's some of us that really struggle with a lot and videos like these just help me feel a little less alone. That right there gives me a the spark I need to get motivated again instead of beating myself up for not being the ideal spouse. I hope you're having a great day. ❤

Wow, I can't tell you how much this means to me. I know exactly what you're feeling, my husband listens but doesn't get it. Your words have given me so much courage to keep doing these, no matter how nervous I am! Thank you so much, you definitely made me tear up 🥲💛💛💛💛

My husband who is an appliance technician advices against making your own laundry detergent. It can wear on your machine. But if you have someone with sensitive skin you can just wash with baking soda. That really brings the cost down.

    • @TheNeurodivergentHome

Oh thank you for the heads up! I wouldn't have thought of that! That's a good idea to use baking soda! 🤩

I love how you said “I’m really proud of myself” because we don’t always have people telling us that themself but also what’s most important is how you feel proud of yourself. Keep reminding yourself that. I understand the rut two I’ve been feeling it since after Christmas. Stay strong you got this 😊

I have strong opinions on essential oils. 😂 I think essential oils have a definite place in our medicine cabinet, but people are way too casual and careless with them.
I'm an analytical chemist by training, also neuro divergent and health issues so I REALLY looked into it.
I'm horrified by how casual people add handfuls of drops into their diffusers 'because it smells nice'.
    1. Look up what the oil's purpose is.
    2. Look up if it toxic for your pets.
    3. Buy only organic oils.
    4. Don't fall for the pyramid marketing scheme in America (YL/Doterra) Their oils don't work mysteriously better. There is no such thing as medical grade.
    5. Don't casually ingest essential oils. They are highly concentrated.
    6. Check if they are hot oils.
    7. Put the minimum number of drops in your diffuser that is appropriate for your space. I often only use a single drop.
    8. You need to understand that 20 minutes after contact they have reached every cell in your body.
    9. Try putting frankincense in your diffuser. I find this one very helpful.
Hope this gives you a starting point to explore oils with a bit of a handle. They definitely have a place, but not the one social media portrays.

For your table, a quick, easy fix is getting wood markers. You can get them from flooring stores, Home Depot, Lowes even Walmart is where I got mine. You can pick a match of the color of your table and color it in. It's cheap, easy and worth a try. They're made for wood floors, but should work on your table.

  • @The_Joy_Finder
    @The_Joy_Finder ปีที่แล้ว +3

May I suggest a small experiment?
    1. Try removing your utensils etc from your counter into drawers (or hide it in a cupboard for a few days) and observe the result
    - visual clutter induces anxiety (even though we see it as pretty and not clutter. It's still 'busy')
    - less to reclean after a low energy cycle

    • @TheNeurodivergentHome
      @TheNeurodivergentHome  ปีที่แล้ว

That's a great idea! I'm always up for trying new things to see what helps! Thank you!

    • @lauramitchell6725
      @lauramitchell6725 ปีที่แล้ว +1

Watched a podcast awhile back and he said there was a big link to clutter and anxiety.(even the “pretty” clutter.) For example, you have very nice countertops,I would skip the runner and even the paper towels and framed saying. Then with the plant in one corner,or not, it really says “meal prep here”, then so easy to clean up after. This idea just reminded me of the “broken windows” theory. An abandoned building can remain fine until a window breaks, then people start randomly breaking the other windows, because why not?
So an empty island counter can remain clear until a few things are placed there, then others walk by with something and think,”why not leave it here?”.

I used to make our laundry detergent way back when we first got married. It was only three ingredients. Just a grates bar of soap and borax and washing soda I think? Something like that. And I think you could use a sensitive skin soap, like dove? The recipe I used called for fels naphtha, but I think others said you could use other kinds. I'd say start by making a super small batch and use it on mainly your clothes but maybe one shirt of Oliver's. So if he does have a reaction it won't mean rewashing all of his clothes. =)

Easier than stripping the whole table is to paint it with chalk paint. I’ve done that with some older wood pieces that I didn’t like any more or needed restraining and really like the way they turned out. I don’t care if they get a “distressed” look- adds character!

Do some research before throwing away your leftovers. You can freeze a lot of things and then pull them out later for quick meals that you just have to thaw and warm up. Saves time and a lot of money. I don't know about mac and cheese, but spaghetti, mashed potatoes, and most vegetables do real well like that. I am always double-batch cooking for that very reason.

My wife adds: "As a possible suggestion for your dining table, try Vermont Country Store's real oil cloth tablecloth. Even though they're a bit expensive, they wipe clean every time and last decades. I taped mine down in strategic places on my damaged table with double stick tape. Children can play on it and it simply wipes clean! The cheap vinyl tablecloths are worthless.

Keep these coming as long as you are enjoying it because I certainly am!! 💛✨
    My essential oil opinion:
    - I use them for a variety of different uses including diffusing them!
    - they can add a nice sensory element that helps if you are nd.
    - I’m witchy so there magical elements that I love them for
    - I do not support mlm companies though so I will not go through places like younique or doterra.
    - be careful with diffusing around any pets (peppermint is a no go for pets) and also around the toddler. I just tend to use it more diluted than usual or wait until my 2 year old isn’t around.

Subscribed! You did a great job & deserve credit! 👏
(Sorry ahead of time for the long post below. 🤪)
I’ve used homemade powdered detergent for years, & find it superior (esp w stain removal). I’ve made some for family to try & converted them too! I use One Good Thing by Jillee’s recipe (recipe for 1yr or trial size - will paste link below) & love it. I omit the OxiClean & scented beads, this way I can add them as needed. I have sensitive skin & I have not had any issue with skin irritation. My older sister uses it for her family too, & her kids have no issues with their sensitive skin either. She said it did a great job with cleaning their cloth diapers too! Add White Vinegar to fabric softener dispenser to soften fabrics with waxy residue.
Best homemade stain remover imo is 2 parts Hydrogen Peroxide to 1 part Dawn dish soap. I mix in 32oz Peroxide bottle & add a repurposed spray top, as the peroxide needs to be in a dark/opaque container. Only had a few incidents with discoloration on

I'm a casual oil user. We have a dog and 3 cats, so I have to be careful what oils I use, but I do enjoy them. Mostly I burn candles, or use my Scentsy (not affiliated) wax warmer.

I have been through several DIY phases and I would say no to DIY laundry detergent. It is not as effective generally and can mess with your washer and clothes. And technically I think detergent is a specific chemical process and can’t actually be made at home - but don’t quote me on that, do your research 😂 I think essential oils are nice, but every diffuser I have owned eventually pooped out and I haven’t gotten a knew one. You don’t need really to get “into it”, just pick 1 or 2 scents you like from your local grocery/health store and try it out! I like the NOW brand best.

I use to make my laundry detergent years ago. I made it for about 2 years. It cleaned the clothes pretty good but, I noticed my dish towels and bath towels didn’t seem to absorb as good as they had when I used the store brand. So I stopped using it.

    • @cunninglycrafted3509

If you notice your towels not being as absorbent, you can use white vinegar in the rinse cycle! Also, try to avoid fabric softeners when washing towels.

I love essential oils. They are great for many things. Like I do not use dryer sheets I use wool balls with essential oils on them. My husband uses Lemmon for his gout in his big toe. He still takes his meds but he says it helps with the pain. We started on the advice of a dr, my daughter had kidney stone issues and the dr advised other therapy’s. We have used them to help with sleep. Pain and relaxation. Also I love the thieves for cleaning.

I love essential oil diffusers...they have calming affect. I have 1 in the bedroom & 1 in the living room. You just need to be mindful to keep them clean (the oil builds up) and use fragrances that reflect what you want your room to reflect. Lemon or lemon grass) for the living room (bright-summy atmosphere)Tea tree or eucalyptus for the bedroom (healing feel for sleeping better)...I'm not a fan of Lavender...but yes essential oils & diffusers are a good thing.

    Hi, I came across your channel & I am so glad I did ! : ) I have Subbed ...
TBH, I am a Social worker (of 30 years) & am trying to 'better' Help & Assist 2 of my clients who've been 'diagnosed' with Neurodivergent Brains (I hope that is ok / non hurtful terminology ?) If it's not, please feel free to re-word that for me : ) I am going to be checking out some of your other videos in ''hopes'' : ) of understanding ND better etc ~ these 2 clients are children age of 9 & 11who were diagnosed recently w/ ND ... I have some techniques in place for them (for school & home) but always searching for more ways to help them & educate the teachers & parents [fyi, they have asked for help : )] Thank-you for sharing & All the Best !! I pray you'll get to 1,000 Subs, I know you will : ) ... Hope you HAGreatWknd !! : )
P.S. Where did you purchase those 'duster' slippers ? I NEED to get a pair of those ! : ) So Cute & practical !!
P.S.S. Yes, I make my own laundry detergent, we actually switched to homemade due to it being cheaper but didn't want any perfume, fake coloring, wax etc in our detergent - I'll never go back to Tide etc, plus way better for the environment - trust me, once you switch, you'll never go back. We also put a lil' plain food grade vinegar in each load of wash, helps with smells & softens the clothing & helps w/ static : ) ... I use the ''recipe'' from yt'br ''Homestead Tessie'' : ) I hope it's ok to put her channel name here, if not, please just delete it ~
    Thank-you, Cindy : )

Hello It's nice to see how you're in a groove to clean. It took me a very long time to get through to get unstuck. Regarding essential oils a real organic 'seed to seal' product. That's a strong opinion for me. The company is called Young Living. They source out all ingredients from around the best world.
Lately, my laundry system has gotten so good because as I have so many reasons to use a good product and wholesome cleaning I found using the washing sodq, Miss Nellies and Persil original from Germany has been most economical and much much better cleaning. I use less product and all s.ells and stains are cleaned. I use a bit of vinegar for colors and bleach for whites. As well Resolve for stains. All smells are out. I use extra water in the machine or never over fill a load. Sensitivity from febreze is gone and washing soda makes all products work better. Cor walls and floors and fridges and so much.
Stay on your path all, will come together. You're doing great!

Ok I watched this. I don’t understand. Do you sleep all day? I get up every morning at 7, eat a healthy breakfast and then tidy up whatever needs to be done. I would be mortified to post my home looking like this(not that it ever has). Looks like a pretty expensive dishwasher, right after dinner load that thing and do your dishes. No reason to have a sink and stove full of dishes. I’m sorry but that’s kinda gross. Not trying to be mean. I can relax because my home is clean by 8am every day.
