- Drawing on black paper with colored pencils is becoming more and more popular, but there are a few things you should know when using black paper. Here's what I think is the best way to transfer your sketch on black paper.

Great video. I just bought a huge pad of black paper but couldnt figure out how to draw properly on it. Transfer paper seems best. Even the white color pencil method you did as well. Thank you again.
The white colored pencil transfer is my favorite method. It's the least messy.
I'm leaning towards the white colored pencil method.
What a great idea! I’ve used graphite and Pan Pastel on the back of my sketch, and also transfer paper. All are messy.

Hi, is the white color pencil need to be a specific type or we can use the ordinary color pencil? You know, like the one that kids use for coloring? 😅
I would suggest to try it out on a scrap piece of black paper first to make sure it stands out enough. The brand I like to use it Prismacolor Premier, but I'm sure other pencils will work fine too.

What brand of transfer paper do you use I can’t find any
I mostly use tracing paper with a white colored pencil, but for transfer paper Saral is a good brand: amzn.to/3i1psHE

Hi Izza. You can use the exact same techniques on a black canvas, althought I would recommend using the white transfer paper. I think it will work best on the canvas. You can of course you any color transfer paper. I think they have yellow, blue, and red too.
Can you use this method with tan toned paper?
You sure can. You can use different colors for better results. If it's a toned tan or light colored paper, graphite should work fine.
