I remember RPCS3 being in its very early alpha stage many years ago, back when something like Persona 5 would run at around 10-15 fps. Man, these guys have come far.
@MikeleKonstantyFiedorowiczIV Currently, it runs at 32 FPS on an old, weak 4-core CPU. If you have a modern CPU, you can achieve a constant 60 FPS without any problems. Rewatch the video, but this time, listen to what is being said before commenting without knowing the facts.
I remember when the only game that could actually boot was Sonic CD, and then less than a year or so later, I could run Project DIVA F with decent performance. Persona 5 was definitely an outlier at the time as it could barely lock to 60 even on a $400 midrange CPU at the time.
PC could emulate everything. But many corporation has copyrights on some codes and contents especially SONY. Maybe many people remember judge process on pcsxr devs or epsxe or blini or something. Or CAPCOM or Nintendo also watch for emulator devs. They always watch, stupid and greedy corpocrats.
@@mediatourist Copyright issue is not what makes creating emulators hard. PlayStation 3 emulation is very, very, complex because of its hardware. It has nothing to do with greedy corporations.

Also hatdware emulation of cell is just another hardware logic. Devs are not stupid and they afraid to cross intellectual private of greedy corporation. Cell also private intellectual product of Sony also his logic. Try to make similiar code with cell cpu and Sony will go to judgment.
The crashes in the Ratchet games can be completely removed with canary patches. Would love to see RPCS3 finally fix the issue once and for all, but until then the patch does the trick.
I'm still hoping for the day that the PS3 emulator will allow me to play the Ratchet and Clank games without crashing! My specs: Cpu - Ryzen 5 3600, Gpu - Nvidia 3060 12GB, System ram - 16GB
If you can, upgrade to a better CPU like a 5000 series ryzen 7. No need for motherboard replacement either. Something like 5800x or 5800XT are preferable, since they're both 8 core parts. Don't go for the X3D parts since they don't benefit ps3 emus and have lower clockspeeds.
well yeah ps3 used blurays which allowed for way more data, depending on game. i don't think multiplat games were any different really, exclusives absolutely.
That bug has happened to me before. Try downloading RPCS3 directly from the official site and install it over your old version. This won't cause you to lose your saves or other configurations, and it resolved the issue for me.

I have two questions 1-why rpcs3 upscaling resolution not change anything as other emoulator? 2-is rpcs3 new update could be good for a 8 core CPU like Ryzen 7 7735hs ?
Lossless Scaling Frame Generation is on Steam, and it will work absolutely fine with your CPU. Including resolution upscaling and FSR3 frame generation
What game are you playing? Depending on the game it may not be running well yet. Resolutions Scaling setting should work, and unless you have Strict Rendering on. That CPU should be okay for many games that has the Playable status on the compatibility list.
Unfortunately, the 10th generation of Intel processors has become quite outdated. For emulation, you should either get a 10th gen i7 or go straight for the 12th gen or later.
@@AlexwpiGame tools of destruction with THE CANARY PATCH. on deck at playable at 30 FPS stable m when I test it, I mean when I beat the whole game 😓on the steam deck. I will asume now it should run even be Better without taking loss less in consideration. Sadly am not getting succes on a crack in time.
@@Tarek_Issa77 emulating a PowerPC CPU is easy, but the compilations of the GPU architecture will be extremely taxing for today’s GPUs integrated into ARM CPU.
@@TestamentFromTheForest how about wii U?? I only know a handful about emulation but that system is less compless than the ps3 and considering yuzu android was able to run Wii U ported games like BOW and so on you think it's possible?
@@maskedlibrarian1483 Wii U's CPU is actually easier to emulate, but the Wii U emulation is still not that perfect on PC, yet. It's too early to talk about it, yet. You'll also might need a beefier CPU, which means a $1000 phone most likely.
This video fail to mention: AVX2 instructions set is MANDATORY. There's no way you can run those Emulator without AVX2 because there's practically no Low-end CPU in existence have AVX2. Be it Intel or AMD

You should be able to. Your rig sounds more than capable.

To be fair, the PS3 was using Blu-ray Disc for storage(goes up to 50 GB) while the Xbox 360 was stuck with DVD.

You can with PS2 games. Not sure with PS3 titles, but I imagine it may be possible with an external Blu-ray drive that's capable of reading PS3 discs.

What game are you playing? Depending on the game it may not be running well yet.
Resolutions Scaling setting should work, and unless you have Strict Rendering on.
That CPU should be okay for many games that has the Playable status on the compatibility list.

Unfortunately, the 10th generation of Intel processors has become quite outdated. For emulation, you should either get a 10th gen i7 or go straight for the 12th gen or later.

I only know a handful about emulation but that system is less compless than the ps3 and considering yuzu android was able to run Wii U ported games like BOW and so on you think it's possible?
@@maskedlibrarian1483 Wii U's CPU is actually easier to emulate, but the Wii U emulation is still not that perfect on PC, yet. It's too early to talk about it, yet.
You'll also might need a beefier CPU, which means a $1000 phone most likely.

There's no way you can run those Emulator without AVX2 because there's practically no Low-end CPU in existence have AVX2. Be it Intel or AMD
