Are we talking about the comic hal or the movie Hal. The problem with Movie Hal was that they tried to make him too much like Spider Man who is plagued with indecision.
@@nicholase82 more of this bad habbit DC comics had at the time was Titanifying the mentors on screen due to the fact that in the comics before Flashpoint, Fab 5, Kyle and Kara were all majorly in legacy mode doing cool things alongside other legacy characters...also they could actually use a joke for Grayson under the cowl...not that Superman approves of that joke when it comes to Batman. Which in effect of Kyle-ifying Hal would be somewhat spidery since Kyle was initially designed with that mentality. That was really weird though because in 2005's Secret Origins (and the OG 2008 script for the movie...including a funny joke about Hammond working for John Broome), it actually shows Kyle as Grayson to Hal's Bruce, Wally ironically who had previously also been a KL once (retroactive story in Post-Crisis) effectively is Grayson to Barry and sort of Babs to Hal...funny.
No one wants to see Hal Jordan. He’s a great character. But, he’s cardboard and not a character people want to see. They tried a GL movie. That flopped. They tried a GL cartoon. And, while it was really good, it didn’t do that well either. When people outside of comics think of GL, they think of John Steward. That’s who they want to see. That said, the one actor that could have really sold Hal Jordan to general audiences is Tom Cruise. Imagine a GL film starring him in the style of Top Gun. Take my money.

@@samson7842 Like Beware My Power was a hit? Or the Suicide Squad game? Most of these Timm fans if asked who they're favorite JLU character is, John Stewart wouldn't be mentioned because he didn't do much. If the Flash movie used Wally instead of Barry, would that have been a hit?
There were some things that I loved about the original GL
there is some good scenes..

Like a Hal Jordan Curse? Come on, you are right the 2011 films ISNT good but its NOT that bad and has some shining moments!
Hal Jordan is a cool character. I mean he's a test pilot after all. Most the actors in top gun Maverick could probably pull it off
Matthew wouldn’t have worked as the character because of his accent, and his catch phrase “Alright Alright” I don’t want Hal to talk like that.
why why, most of the green lantern stories a mostly centered on hal jordan. so no green lantern and green arrow or carol ferris or senestro fiewd
Because Gunn doesn't know anything about GL lore
This will give DC fans a reason to vilify Ryan Reynolds.

So you're telling me if John Stewart was the lead instead in the 2011, it would've been a box office hit?
