Agreed...awesome! ..but somebody please put me out of my song recognition misery and reveal the name of the orchestral piece used at the beginning!...Thanks.
These are fantastic coaches, I have a full set of nine and can highly recommend them. The detail, the different lighting effects, the metal features are all top notch. For the price of 48 quid a coach, it's a non brainer and a must buy. Well done Hornby.
absolutely fantastic Well done to the video maker and Hornby clearly showing why they are still in business after so many years. I am sure they will remain in the business for many more years, leading the industry in how to make first class models at an affordable price.
Love the use of Vivian Ellis's Coronation Scot music, really love this piece (along with Wilfred Josephs' Rail (1967) and David Gow's Overture One-Two-Five). The coaches look fantastic, however I think they're a bit too specialist for my layout (and also I'm running out of space for stock...)
I had a lot of trouble getting the train to run. I had to alter the wheel back to backs as they were too close, the tension lock coupling weren’t returning to centre after corners but changing to the roco ones supplied in the boxes cured this problem. Like the real railway my layout has gentle grades and loco was too light to take the train. It now has approximately 50gms of extra weight which helps and finally I had to ease the lighting pick ups away from the wheel backs to get the train to run a bit more easily . It was trial and error but I still have all the lights working, the most problematic were the 2 kitchen cars.
Absolutely Stunning. Hornby have really pushed to boat out on these coaches. i wonder if there are any plans to do the same for the LNER streamlined rolling stock.......cheer's Tony
Marvellous, but I read that first class go at the front of the train or the southern end so that when they get to London the first class passengers haven’t got far to walk to disembark and then re-embark at teatime. What do you think David
I got the full set this week they are stunning, are you correct about the end the loco goes onto because I thought that depended on if it was going north or south?
I have all 9 and they are lovely. Credit to Hornby for what they have produced and the price. Compare these to Bachmann Porthole coaches that are just under double the price!. No comparison and who on earth is buying them?.
Proof Hornby can do decent interior lighting for coaches well if it tries......they look great in the dark no flickering and the full coach is lir...... Be good to see others follow such as their Mk1s Mk2fs and mk3s which includes toilets corridors compartments etc......
I was interested what you said about 3rd class carriages always being behind the engine. Does this mean that when they got to the other end, they would rearrange the train?
@@privatebribert When I have been travelling to Manchester from Euston the first class is normally at the rear and vice versa when going the other way. Maybe that's where the misunderstanding is from?
Hello and congrats for everything. Amazing, literally amazing. I need to ask you few things and also a huge favour for me, maybe smallest from you. If you still have the train and can do a specific photo/video for me in a certain angle as I need for a project on a mural that I am working. I am even willing to pay for. Thank you in advance. Thank you
Nice bit of video editing... Fantsatic. It looks nice, but I dare say you wouldn't get much change out of £500 for the engine and 9 coaches... seem you need deep pockets these days....
Hornby seem to have managed something that today's "real" train manufacturers can't do with their "brand new tooling". I'm sure the rivet-counters will find a blatant, glaring error with a brake shoe somewhere but .......... at least ............... the tables line up with the ******* 𝒘𝒊𝒏𝒅𝒐𝒘𝒔 !! 😁
Who ever did the video transition should be given a pay rise. The coaches look magnificent, but the editing takes top prize.
That was Richard, and he agrees haha 😄
Agreed...awesome! ..but somebody please put me out of my song recognition misery and reveal the name of the orchestral piece used at the beginning!...Thanks.
Doh!...what a Numbnut I am😁 …Obvious really...Coronation Scot, by Vivian Ellis.
When it transitioned to the model railway, until it went into colour, I didnt realise it was a separate shot! Top prize lads well done!
Glad you enjoyed it!
One of Hornby's best efforts yet! ....now eagerly waiting for the Silver Jubilee and Wet Riding Limited articulated take of coaches!
Amen to that; the LNER went big on articulated coaches, so seeing artics for them would be nice.
Fingers crossed
You say that and look where the new Beavertail is. With Hornby in Margate. I think it is possible.
A wonderful model and presentation by Mike Wild !!
Wonderfully edited, and a very useful production. Congrats to Hornby for getting it right at last!
Absolutely magnificent. As always well done Hornby!.
Thanks Robert
Glorious locomotive and great carriages!! I wonder if such a massive thing would ever appear on London’s own heritage line, the Epping Ongar Railway.

We love them too, stunning set
Makes you wonder how Bachmann can charge RRP of £69.95 for a MK2F !!
WHAT AN INTRO WOW, good show. i love the more detailed coronation scot coaches looks lovely.

Great looking coaches, now will the be also doing them in the Crimson and Gold livery.
Brilliant coaches from Hornby and reasonably priced given the detail
We agree

Your best video yet, I loved the transition from nostalgic reality to model and I am so pleased I ordered a whole set of these.
Beautiful coaches and well worth the wait! Lighting is v good.
Great video Richard top notch as they say.Hornby has done a super job on the coaches.

It's a well known piece of music but I never knew the name of the piece or composer so thanks for that.

Glad you're all sorted now
nice transition guys
Thanks
That is just so impressive ! Just a shame the TTS Loco and 9 coaches would cost around £700. Far too expensive for me, sadly...........
This is next level stuff !!! Absolutely superb. Don't care who you are, it’s just great watching :)
Thanks Jeremy!
Cracking video lads, what lovely coaches.
Absolutely Stunning. Hornby have really pushed to boat out on these coaches. i wonder if there are any plans to do the same for the LNER streamlined rolling stock.......cheer's Tony
Great video especially the superb sound track.
Excellent video and great looking coaches
Will you ever be doing the red and gold coaches?
Marvellous, but I read that first class go at the front of the train or the southern end so that when they get to London the first class passengers haven’t got far to walk to disembark and then re-embark at teatime. What do you think David
They look amazing! I assume there is a plan to release a train pack with one of the locos and a few of these coaches in the future ? 😁
I like this locos unique design shame you can't see the color in black and white photos and sepio films.
Superior streamlining compared with the LNER version
@@Delta-pantages agreed
Who knows, you may be able to edit it these days
@@Delta-pantages but still pointless!
What a great video keep it up Hornby.

How do you change the gangway ends,i have tried but cannot get the old ones off
Do any retailers have stock of a complete rake? Just did a search and seems to be slim pickings.....
Best 2:04 opening ever
Glad you like it Peter!

Credit where credits due.
Mine are now starting to drag. Have you had any issues?.
Fabulous!
Thanks Adrian

What was the opening music? And also fantastic video lads.
A fabulous thing, but quite a commitment as the coaches only go with this Loco. Still, cheaper than a Blue Pullman ....
Nice old film and tune btw.

I was thinking the exact same

It look like a O gauge not a oo gauge that’s how good it looks 👍
Beware the flimsy valvegear on the new Coronatipn loco.
I want, I want, I want
OK, who like me had to look up the title of the music?
What is the music please?
It’s just coronation Scot lol
Thanks. I’ve found it on You Tube.
