    Thank you for a nice strip-down!. Mostly it is common sense but thank you anyway. That Neta-Tec looks just as gungy as my five year old 24 GA that I inherited with my current property. The serial number will determine its year of manufacture. Check the that the RDS is appropriate for the gas supply, natural gas or propane.
    All the instructions and videos, including this one, skip the difficulty of removing the diverter valve cartridge. The 'hydroblock' walls are often coated with hard water deposits and applying leverage to the diverter valve flange results in no movement, only broken flanges. To gain access I removed the complete circulation pump (one PZ3 & two 5mm hex), used a 'right-angle screwdriver' to bias the valve to the left and forced a small screwdriver behind the substantial protrusion at 3 o'clock.
    BTW, plated screws often 'cold weld' their threads; applying a little tightening action or, sometimes, a jolt from a small hammer will make them easy to remove and reduce the chance of damaging the head or the threads.
    After removing the hard water deposits I will reassemble with copious application of silicon grease to all 'O-rings'.
    With 50 years experience on computer systems (power, electronic, digital, hydraulic and barometric) I am a competent person. I do not have access to the necessary instruments (flue gas analyser and manometer) to properly test the integrity of my boiler so when I have finished reconditioning my boiler and CH system I will have it serviced by a (usually incompetent) 'Gas Safe' 'Engineer'! Not referring to you, Allen!

    Hi alan..... how did you get the diverter cartridge out.... is it just a quarter turn? Couldn't see how you did it. Got water dripping out of the motor so I'm assuming it's the cartridge leaking onto it. But wanted make sure it's easy to do before I do it. Cheers

    Hi Alan I have tis boiler there is nothing on the display. I have power I thought pcb had gone ordered a refurbished one but still doesn't work I think need a new one. If there is no display must be the problem. Cant get a plumber at the moment because of corona.

    Hi,
    Does anyone know how to get the diverter cartridge out as it's stuck and am unable to either unscrew (doesnt' look like it's screwed in) or pull it out? The motor came off easily after removing both pin's but not the diverter valve cartridge that's behind it. Thre's a plastic pin that's upwards and in a housing's grove that's preventing any turning.

    • @webcoderltd
      @webcoderltd 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      We eventually got the plastic version diverter cartridge out in Baxi 128 Combi boiler. There's not quarter turn AT ALL in this version - no special tools required as in some versions - just be persistent and pull it out.

    Jesus, I don't like the look of all that plastic!, but thanks Alan for showing us 👍

    I have one of these boilers, it keeps gaining pressure so has to be emptied of a few litres of water every few days. The filling loop has been disconnected and the engineer has replaced the plate heat exchanger and its had a new expansion vessel but is still gaining pressure. He thinks it could be a internal leak on the hydraulic. Is this possible?

      Definitely! I've been installing Baxi for over twenty years and never had many issues at all, I installed eight of these about a decade ago and all but one are grassed.

      @mickclarke5741 I've had two calls in the last week for dead neta tec's, I really don't like turning people away, especially older folk, but there's a whole site of them nobody wants to work on, I feel sorry for customers, especially with Baxi wanting well over £400 for a fixed price callout, daylight robbery!
