I cut 2 inch yarn pieces, and used my hook to pull it thru on the very last round before I sewed him up ,and I knotted each one .I added about 3 to one side ,and other then sewed him up , and then took a fine tooth comb and combed out the yarn till it was nice ,and fluffy . I hope this makes sense ,and you are able to do it 😁 I suck at writing directions .

Thank you Ana ❣️❣️❣️ I finished my second Grinch ,and I used bigger hook & yarn to make him bigger after your suggestion :) . He was supposed to be for my Grandsons Christmas present ,but I decided to make him for his B day which is January 30 he will be one . He turned out great !!!!!! Hey Max!!! Enjoy the season again! I am also starting to prepare my hook for the grinch! Lol and the new christmas collection includes! Have fun!!! 🥰❤️
Thank you so so so so so much for this pattern!!!!! I LOVE THE GRINCH!!!! I own a heap of Grinch merchandise so to be able to make him myself is absolutely amazing!!!! Thank you for your generosity!!!!! You're incredibly talented!!!!! ♥️♥️♥️
I just did a knot with little pieces of yarn and put it into the head before I closed it. So the knot is inside and the hair comes out. Idk if you can do it that way but for me it worked
Ana, I just this minute finished my adorable mini Grinch! I loved the pattern! I used #4 cotton yarn that I had on hand first. Now I'm waiting for sport yarn to be delivered I just need to better understand the hair! The final closure at the top is so tight and can't find any actual stitches to connect the yarn strands! Also, how many different strands did you use?
Hey Susan, I think I used about 10 strands of yarn. Not too many of them because when you open the plys of the yarn, it gets fuzzy and full. That is the result we are looking for. The head top is very tight, but I use a crochet needle to introduce the strands. If is too tight for you, you can use an embroidery needle to help you out! ❤️
I'm just doing the detailing of his face now and he's looking fab. A little chubbier but it all worked 🎉 I have really enjoyed following this tutorial and it's my first time following so I look forward to trying out more. Thank you so much for making this video. My happy Grinch will be going in my daughter's Christmas stocking 😊
Wow! I am so happy to read that! Your first time following a tutorial! It will be great for a Christmas stocking! Big surprise for your daughter! 🎅❤🎅❤🎅❤
I forgot to shoot the hair pieces. I am sorry! But it's very simple! I just cut a couple of yarn pieces (size about 7cm) and I tight them on the last round of the head. Then, with the tapestry needle, I open the strings of the yarn, so the hair gets fuzzy. To finish, cut the hair in a nice shape!
Hey Jan, for this little hair, cut a couple of small strings and fold it in half. Insert the needle in a stitch from the head, pull the center of this yarn string inside the stitch. You will have now a loop on the needle, pull the ends of this yarn string inside the loop. Pull tightly the yarn ends to secure the strands. Once you add a couple of them, use a embroider needle to open the yarn fuzzy, and cut it on the finished size you want! I hope is clear! It is the easiest way of adding yarn. If you cant understand, I will find a tutorial on TH-cam that uses the same technique. Let me know!

I am confused how to do the hair. I need more of a description than is in the pattern, and your video skipped that part. He's really cute, I'm going to give him as a Christmas gift. Any tips how to get the hair?
Buenas tardes Carmen, planeo hacer un video sobre ojos en el futuro. Por ahora, puede configurar el video de Grinch para reproducción lenta cuando esta en los hojitos. Pardon me, but the written instructions for the scarf say repeat 7 times. I cannot change colors without having all these tails! Is there a better way??? BC I am done with trying to make this Grinch and his scarf!!!
Hey Nancy! Yes, there is a much easier way! You don't need to cut the yarn every time you do a color change! If you watch the video from minute 12:11 to 14:42, you will see I don't cut the yarn, only at the end of the scarf.
Yeah... common problem. I'm sorry... I had a recording problem with the ending but, you can watch this video th-cam.com/video/O27k44i4pJ8/w-d-xo.htmlsi=g1YfA6v47ijjoVMw from minute 16:01 is the same way! ❤️ I think will clarify for you!
Hey Debi! A 1.75 or 2mm hook. You can find the list of materials in the free written pattern here littlecrochetfarm.com/grinch-free-amigurumi-christmas-ornament/
Unfortunately I had a problem while recording the end of the pattern (hair). But you can watch this video th-cam.com/video/O27k44i4pJ8/w-d-xo.htmlsi=g1YfA6v47ijjoVMw from minute 16:01 Is the same way I attach the hair on Grinch! I hope this helps! ❤️
To make the loop for hanging, take a piece of any yarn (for mine I took some golden thread ❤️) and insert it on the top of the head (with some 2 stitches distance from where you insert it to where it comes out). Then, make a tight knot. After you tight, the knot, pull a little bit the thread, so the knot with the edges will get inside the toy and will not be seen! I hope this was clear! For this year's Christmas collection, I will shoot this part as well. Thank you for the question!
Hey Nancy! All the tutorial parts are linked in the description of the videos! But I will leave it here for you as well: th-cam.com/video/0JuCkNUANu4/w-d-xo.html
There are a couple of reasons, mainly because your starting stitch for the round might be in a different position than mine. What you can do to solve this is to adapt round 17 by marking the 4 stitches in the central part of his body. This should be the distance between one arm to another. This way you know if you need to crochet together with the arms before or after what is written in the pattern. Or, a very easy way to solve this is, not to crochet the arms together. And finish the Grinch. Once you are done, you sew the arms in a position that looks symmetrical to you! I hope this helps!

What did you use for the mouth and eyes? What kind of yarn and needle?
I use black thread, kind of the one you would use for cross stitch. And sewing needle.
My gosh.I have problem attaching the arms.have problem with the stitches 🙄
There are a couple of reasons, mainly because your starting stitch for the round might be in a different position than mine. What you can do to solve this is to adapt round 17 by marking the 4 stitches in the central part of his body. This should be the distance between one arm to another. This way you know if you need to crochet together with the arms before or after what is written in the pattern.
Or, a very easy way to solve this is, not to crochet the arms together. And finish the Grinch. Once you are done, you sew the arms in a position that looks symmetrical to you!
