- Taking the 1991 Yamaha Virago out for its first ride to do a motovlog to discuss the repairs made to get this vintage Yamaha motorcycle to run and get back on the road. After a carburetor clean and some stripped thread repairs it has become a reliable vintage cruiser motorcycle. Ultimately the question is whether I paid too much for this non running project bike.
I fell into one of these about 5 years ago. I was looking on eBay and saw a 1994 V750 custom painted with a horse motif, 9,500 miles. My wife rides horses and bikes, so I bid $1,200 never thinking I'd win it. Well, I won it. Had to pay some money to get it shipped, but finally got it. For a carb'd mid-size (by today's standards) bike, it's alright. Pretty much all you need for some relaxing, kicked back riding.
In 1992 I purchased a new 750 Virago and road the heck out of it for 4+ years. I sold it for a great price. It was the BEST bike that I owned. Before that I bought a used 500 cc Virago which also was a good bike. My last bike was a used 1991 HD FXR. It was a good bike but the 750 Virago was a much better handling bike. Had to sell the HD a few years ago after I had both hips replaced from old age!
Seen one about two months ago on craigslist.
Came with a windshield and saddle bags.
Looked like new with 11k on the clock...$1600.
Dang that sounds like I over payed or that’s a screamin deal! Haha
My bad...
Was a 250 not a 750.
Sorry about that.
Looks exactly like the one my dad had when I was tractor
Oh no kidding! 😂😂
looks exactly like the one my dad had when i was a boat
Good deal 😂
I made open pipes on 1981 have ran it some, not rode and that is loud and sounds good
Yeah I think a new exhaust would sound awesome!
Do you happen to have pictures of the wiring diagram for this bike i got the same one im building
I just bought a 81 for $400 as my first bike and it’s definitely a project lol guess it’s a good thing I’m bobbing it
That’s awesome! HMU on insta and share the progress with me!
Just bought my 94 750 for 1600 from an airplane mechanic. Right place right time.
@@p12423073 that’s solid!
Any chance you would be willing to help me figure out what is wrong with my bike? been to 2 shops and my issues still aren't fixed. I have a 96 virago 750
I mean I can’t promise much but I can maybe give a wack at it 😂😂
U recommend this bike for someone who’s about 5’10 in height? Thinking of buying a 95 750 virago and in pictures it looks like it would fit me small so I’m curious. Never seen one in person yet
Im about 5’8 and I feel pretty good on it. But I have had some of my friends say they feel squished. But I would say it would work. Especially if you put some highway pegs on it
Nice score for 1300, in my opinion ....And don't bob it please....
looks exactly like the one my dad had when i was a car
That’s dope!
