Hey shoot me an email at bentleycoaching@mac.com and I can go over some options. Depending on your rig I can actually make a bolt on option that is similar but doesn’t need welding in.
Raul thanks for checking out the video. I’m getting the whole tire angle and post extension thing dialed in and will go over that more in an upcoming video
Jason thanks for checking out the video. You know, I’m the same. I’m still having just black armor on my white 4Runner but yeah, every time I look at those pics it grows on me more and more. I knew as I was making it I’d have to get that surface prepared really well otherwise that Red finish would show every imperfection
That's a company man right there. Not even his 4runner it's got dealer plates. Texas dealers must treat their guys really well to all that work for their vehicle lol.
You might look into a tubing notcher - numerous companies offer them; even the cheap one I have from Harbor Freight has been pretty helpful. Impressive list of creations from your garage!
Hi John thanks so much for checking out the channel and the suggestion. I have a tubing notcher but it’s a pain to use for just a couple of cuts. I set it up when I have a lot of similar cuts to make (like notching 1” round tube for a ladder). On the bigger tube where the angles are all different I’d rather just do it by hand. Next time I notch some (1.75”) tube though I’m going to make some flexible plastic templates of the exact cut line after I’ve cut them on the notcher, so it will be even quicker to cut those one-offs in the future.
@@stevenfancher7308 that’s actually where the gentleman that owns that 4Runner in the video is from. I have ppl come in from around the country so we can figure it out if you’re interested. If interested Email me at bentleycoaching at mac. Com or text me at 872 252 3685 and we can go over some options
This looks great, I've been wanting a more minimalist tire carrier, but at the same time I kinda want to make a 4th gen version of the rear bumper with a tailgate like southern style offroad did for the 5th gens..too tough to decide lol
Dusk, thanks for checking out the video. Great thing about making it is it’s just a bit of time and money. If you don’t love the first one you make you can likely sell it for at least what you bought the materials for and then try a different design.
This is absolutely awesome!! I just got my 4th gen in January and have been wanting something like this, sadly I have zero fabrication skills. Is this something that you could, or would do again?
Hi David. Yes Sir, I make a lot of bumpers and swingouts etc for ppl. I’m about an hour sw of Houston but have ppl driving from all over the country, or sometimes shipping, their trucks to me to do the work. Text me though at 872-252-3685 and we can chat about options
Hi Rommel, thanks for checking out the video. I haven’t made a bolt on tire carrier yet. The weld in version is a lot stronger so have typically gone that route for people. I could make a bolt on version but would need a third gen here to build it out.
Client wanted that exact color so that’s what he got. It would make absolutely zero sense to put the ladder below the spoiler, unless of course you wanted to step on the spoiler and ruin it. But what do I know 😆
I have a question for you. Is this something that someone new to welding could do or do you have experience in welding? Also what welder are you using?
Hi Clarence. Great question. I used to do woodworking years ago but just learned how to weld when I got my 4Runner back in 2020. I watched a lot of welding videos on TH-cam and have a friend I called on a lot who owns a welding company. Then it was just getting better with each new project. You can totally do it. I use a Harbor Freight Titanium Unlimited 200 welder in a MIG setup. Usually with 0.030 wire and a CO2/argon gas mix.
Thanks for checking out the video TrailRoamer. I almost moved to the Orlando area about 6 years ago but ended up here in Texas. I’ll be in Orlando next July though for a conference. Shoot me a message at 872-252-3685 and we can discuss some options.
Hi Edwin. Thanks for checking out the video. I actually did one of these on a Honda Element last summer. Gentleman came down from Michigan to Houston area to have me do the work. Let me know if you’d like to chat.
Totally. He asked me if I could do that after building the swing arm and ladder but I didn’t have the time. He said he had someone to get on that soon though.

I wish someone made a kit for this type of mount for those of us with limited fab skills and who don't want a full rear bumper. Good work!

So true!
So awesome very well build you have a true talent
Hi Anthony. Thanks for checking out the video Sir. Have a great week and summer.
Awesome build !!!! Really good idea to make something like this for my own bumper thanks for the video !!

You know I was against the red at first, but now I like it. Awesome build love how close the tire is to the back.

So clean! Love this setup dude

Very cool, whats the weight of the Tire Carrier?

I love that set up. I would like have that set up on 4th gen
Thanks for checking out the video Steven. If you’re near Houston Texas or Durango Colorado I can get you set up on that.

I would buy something like this in a heart beat. I love how close the tire is. I do not like any of these other swing outs because the gap is enormous
Glad you like the way it turned out. Shoot me a message on my cell 8722523685 and I can send you some info and options

Thanks Ramon. Have a great long weekend Sir.
Nice!
Thanks Rozelle and thanks for checking out the video
Very cool setup. Can you make me one ladder and tire carrier for gx470 ?
Hello Hussain. Happy New Year. Yes I can do that. Reach out to me at 872-252-3685 or bentleycoaching@mac.com and we can go over some ideas
It will look better in gray or black color, reattach the ladder below the spoiler.

I don’t think I can came down to Huston cause all this emigration situation
But I would love to have it looks 👀 sick
The owner should get on fixing that frame rust asap, you don’t want such a nice 4runner to rust out
Totally. He asked me if I could do that after building the swing arm and ladder but I didn’t have the time. He said he had someone to get on that soon though.

One thing I hated on my Jeep was the spare tire hanging on the back ... I wish jeep would put them underneath the vehicle.
