I used to carry a lot of things in my makeup pouch (foundation, hair spray, concealer, etc.), but as I got older, I realized that I don't really use everything in there. The canvas backpack is gorgeous. We really don’t need to spend a fortune on a bag. My favourite bag is also a small/medium backpack which was very budget friendly and I love it. I just bought a kindle and it fits no problem along with all my other stuff.
I love seeing what people carry around in their bags. The only things I would recommend carrying that you don't already have is wipes and tissues. These come in super handy for sketchy public restrooms, spills in the car, or cleaning your hands after eating a messy sandwich. 😺
In Sweden we have the word called "lagom" which basically translates to just enough amount. Not too little, not too much, just "lagom". We use the word for litteraly everything. One of the best words ever haha.
I follow many minimalists, including The Minimalists, and I love how minimalism isn’t perfect, it’s about what’s important and functional/practical to you
I used to carry big bags with everything I could think of for emergency situations. My shoulder was killing me so I got a small bucket bag that only fit my most essential stuff like phone, card holder, feminine products, some basic hygiene products and a portable charger. It's so nice having a small bag 😊

I feel like since the start of this year, my everyday handbag essentials have changed quite a bit as I like to keep myself feeling fresh and put together. I still consider lip balm to be a must for me as well as hand cream, hand sanitizer, mints and tissues, but I have added some other things like a roller ball perfume, a mini-sized poo-pouri for those nasty public bathrooms, sunglasses that I'll keep in my bag year round and one lip gloss for just in case I want to add some color. I've also added a mirror in case I need to see if there's food stuck in my teeth or anything else hanging around that doesn't need to be there 😅
I don't go anywhere without chapstick. I have one in every room. My daughter bought me some Cliganic organic lip balm. It is now my favorite. Also love the purse. I have a back pack purse. It's nice to be hands free. It's even weight on both shoulders and better for my back. One thing I carry that I don't think you mentioned is tissues.
I recently switched to a smaller bag with lots of pockets and love it. I definitely de cluttered and only carry what I absolutely need now. I always have chapstick, hand sanitizer,lotion and a pen just to name a few. It’s nice to have a lighter bag 😊
I get the black elastic hair ties for thick hair that are larger, so I can carry it on my wrist. I’ve actually started putting it on a little clip on my keys and when I don’t need it for my hair, it works as a way to carry my keys on my wrist hands free when I don’t have pockets. Plus, it’s a lower profile for putting in my hair, too.
You may be the only person that admits they carry a water bottle with them. None of the "what's in my bag" videos I've seen carry one and I was starting to feel weird for lugging one around with me all day. I love your bag and how your on-the-go items are not only pretty but actually useful (and let's admit it, realistic)
I am a terrible Mum in the bag department. I have always only ever carried my wallet, keys, phone, pen and glasses. In more recent years I have added a scrunchie and nail file and then a pouch of pandemic-related things: travel sized sanitiser, moisturiser and wipes. Since I use those so rarely I'm thinking I should just ditch them. There is always sanitiser around wherever you go these days. I have a second bag I use if I'm wanting to add carrying a small reusable water bottle and a notebook, like when I'm at a conference or taking notes in church. But honestly, I hate changing bags all the time either!
I also carry most of these things in my Kanken mini (looks to be a similar size), and also SUNSCREEN!! I actually have a designated pair of sunglasses and sunscreen for both my big and small daily bags.
Honestly I never carried hand sanitizer but in 08 I started and wipes. That's when I became a mom. And when my kids started school I made sure they had hand sanitizer and wipes too.
I used to bring everything and anything with me when I left the house until I saw your previous video on this topic! Now, I have a small ATLA backpack and it’s so convenient. Front pocket has keys (that have a pill container on them) and AirPods. Main pocket has wallet, phone, shades, and sanitizer. There’s room for more things if needed, but it’s great for a grab and go. IMO, purses get disorganized and are difficult to handle. Have fun in Georgia!! ✨🥰
I really Am Working very hard to get my bag to a minimalist type but it is very difficult because there are moments I do leave specific things behind and I end up needing them at the end which just throws me off sometimes. I am trying my best though but I love your bag and it’s so cute. Love your content.

If we had Target in the U.K. I’d be getting a backpack like this, it’s so lovely, and as you said, not too big, and not too small, my perfect size of bag!
I have different size bags too for different things - my bags have compartments and I use a puch for my earphones, a sunglasses case to protect my sunnies from breaking

Thank you for sharing. I love using my Vera Bradley bag - plenty of pockets to neatly organize the essentials that I carry. Thanks for showing how people use the backpacks as purses; I never really understood it before. (I get wanting to be hands free. Somehow for me when I use a backpack, it’s just awkward when I then have to get anything out of it, versus with my purse I can just reach for whatever pocket has the necessary item, without having to open anything.)
I stopped using purses a long time ago. They would hurt my shoulder and ever since I stopped my shoulders have thanked me. I only carry my wallet, keys, phone and chapstick and they have to fit in my pockets or my hoody pouch. I do have a backpack for my laptop but it rarely gets used now and if I go to a coffee shop I’ll carry a book or enjoy a nice chat.
I love your videos. I want to live a more minimal lifestyle. I like to carry around a scrunchie, a mascara. body spray, Chapstick, hand sanitizer and some feminine products just in case anyone around me needs some when I'm out. I also like to keep some $1 for tips and some change just in case.
I wondered when that large tan purse would go. It couldnt be closed or secured nor did it have any pockets for the electronics like ur phone or laptop. meaning they could slip out easily. And the straps didn't look very strong. So it seemed very classically chic with clean lines and neutral color, as a piece style wise, with a lot of storage, It struck me as much more form than function compared to the pieces you usually gravitate toward... this canvas bag seems so much more consistent with what I know about you.
Me too for the most part. But I leave a backpack or tote in my car in case I need more essentials. Especially a phone charger. Some things come in handy.
I would rather distress about finding a dairy free option than distress my body after eating dairy being severely lactose intolerant. It's so easy to find dairy free too. Seems alittle counterproductive if you can just avoid altogether.
We are naturally lactose intolerant, some more than others. But it's basically because we're not baby cows, we are.humans who need human milk but not past infancy... Sorry (not sorry lol) my vegan is showing

True, but most foods are prepared with cow milk, especially if sometimes you eat out.
That wasn't minimal hey, just essential. It's not easy to keep a woman's bag minimal though, honestly...🙂
