I have a heavy case of general anxiety, which makes me a 24yo shut in. Beacause of that, i ended up having more attention than my younger Sister. Again, its not what i want. Well played plot that twisted into a grand finale! In the unseen moment she was cut off and kicked out herself by her own folks after she wouldn’t get a job for a solid year passed.
For shame. For all the years of Kasumi lying and the parents believing in the lie ended up not only splitting the family apart, but it also destroyed the relationship the parents had with their other daughter, Masumi. Once Kasumi’s lie was exposed thanks to Masumi’s boyfriend collecting evidence, all hell broke loose in the family and her parents were not pleased with being duped by Kasumi for all those years. Moral of the story: Don’t lie to your family or anyone else for that matter just to get what you want because eventually it’ll catch up to you, rear it’s ugly head, and bite you in the behind.
What I find these parents so stupid. Is they can't tell the difference from a fake cough from a real one. They let this brat trick them for a good portion of her childhood. Also didn't they find it odd that she never showed them any bills or receipts from these so called doctors visits. How stupid can they be.
Also, teach us something about parenting. When someone spoils their child and that child stops to get spoiled and gets reprimanded, they literally don't know why because for them being unspoiled isn't normal and just thinks that their parents are mad at them for some reason, until they finally learn how to be unspoiled.

Yeah the parents kept bringing the sick kid to doctor either they ingor the doctors when they couldn't find something wrong with their kid or secretly the kid has been poisoning herself to keep up the act which i doubt a kid will do willing to themselves without almost killing themselves by accident

The parents are terrible for how they played favorite with the siblings, it always backfires. I heard quite a few reddit stories similar to this one, where this op had a step sister who was sickly so she spent her whole childhood taking care of her until they became adults and op had a boyfriend who cheated on her with her step sister and got her pregnant and engaged, her parents and relatives was completely on board with it and told op she was the AH and She should support her sister. She told them off and went no contact, then her step mom was the only one reached out and apologized to her and she haven't heard from her father, then her ex kept trying to get back with her but she shut that down.
Omg same, I heard many stories like that too and I’m glad that those OPs were able to confront them. There was one I remember where OP had a spoiled younger brother who has high functioning autism and their parents use that as a excuse to get him whatever he wants. There are 2 separate stories where they go to a neighbor’s bday party where the younger brother proceeds to trash the place because he didn’t get to blow the birthday boy’s candles and the 2nd one is where the parents cancel OP’s bday party and get shamed by everyone after OP opens up. Since Kasumi was so used to being pampered all her life, she wasn't able to hold down a job for more than a week. This lead to more arguments and fighting between her and her parents, which lead them to actually throwing her out of the house.

There are mental illness - Munhaussen Syndrom - when people on purpose try to make their children sicks, because they love atention they gonna get thanks to that. I remember a Reddit post that has been mentioned on TH-cam a few times where a family had a child that had some really unpleasant illness, and they basically dumped their other kid on the grandparents and whenever the kid wanted to spend time with her parents they always made excuses like how the ill child was more important and eventually the ill child died and the parents suddenly remembered that they had another child and decided to try and make amends and when they got into contact with the kid they neglected that kid justifiably fired back at them by saying "You only have one child and she is dead."

Neat to hear Estelle Son as the girls today, with Paul Hikari as the guys! This happens in real life too. Some parents with chronically ill or disabled kids end up overcompensating their treatment of them due to guilt and end up accidentally end up neglecting the “normal” kid in the process. This leads the normal kid to grow up resenting the sick/disabled sibling and parents. A simple apology never cuts it. Most of the neglected kids just cut off all contact with their neglectful parents and spoiled brothers/sisters once they’re old enough to live on their own.
At first it may seems like good thing- trying to make the weaker/ill one life easier. But "easier" shouldn't mean making harder and neglecting the "stronger" one. And most of that - shouldn't be equal with giving no consequence and discipline for ill one. Nothing shall be overdone. Not surprised that because of kasumi's years of manipulation to make their parents spoil and favour her she's not used to being told no and when ren kept refusing she lost it and kept demanding him to be hers while giving "reasons" why she was better than masumi, not realising that she exposed her true colours to her parents and because of that for the first time in her life she was on the reciving end of their parents anger, shouting at her for lying to them, wasting their money and demanding her to get a job and work, masumi after being shouted at started to heavily sob while begging her parents not to be mad at her like a little kid showing how emotionally stunted kasumi is. Even though the parents finally apologised to masumi it was too late, she cut ties with them and is living a happy life, while kasumi and her parents continue to argue with each other and after every one of them kasumi continues to cry like a spoilt brat.

After that the people who worked there were disgusted by my parents and my sister behavior for what they did to me. Big contracts are terminated on one of another and their boss were very furious at them decided to fire them and worse of all they were sued by them and have to pay $200.000 of compensation for damages to the company they worked for. Now they have no choice but to move to a crappy apartment with only one bedroom to pay off the debt. My sister never wanted to work so she decided to make money by scamming people and she was sued by the people who was scammed because of her adding more debt and my parents decided to disown her for good and she now living in streets living in a miserable life with no one around her. We both decided to change our phone numbers and new phones asap so they will never contact us again. Time to move on to my new life with my loving husband
This is pretty Common amongst parents with sick/neurodivergent/disabled children, when they dont want to pretend that the issue is not there. They tend to over-everything for their 'especial' kid while neglecting their other kid. And in most cases, they are so blind that they dont realize How much demage they cause both to the kids development and the kids relationship.

This is one of those stories where you feel so much rage early on, but you feel satisfied by the end. Kudos to the VA of Masumi. Her voice acting made me feel very sympathetic.
Believe it or not, there are people like Kasumi out there: heck, one of my aunts puts on the act that she doesn't have enough money to pay for all her stuff at the stores, and there's always that person that's willing to pay for her. But, unlike this spoiler girl, she really is frail and sick, but she talks behind everyone's back, she's prideful and greedy, and not even her son and daughter-in law tolerate her 😓
Honestly, I can pretty strongly relate to this, being the older sibling and my brother being the younger sibling. I had to work hard to get what I wanted while my mother spoiled my little brother by buying him whatever he wanted. I remember especially getting upset on the inside whenever my mother would give in to my crying little brother and buy almost everything he wanted. I forgive him and my mother, but it doesn't make it right to love a child more than the other. The only reasons I can think of him doing this was he was assuming I was getting more attention because I have Asperger's Syndrome, or he just wanted to one up me in everything or something. I've never asked and tbh, I don't care anymore. I can only pray that my little brother will love his 3 daughters with equal, unconditional love. I don't want them to go through what I went through.
Not showing favoritism is a lot harder than you'd think. Kids won't always see things the same way you do. e.g. You get your 14yo son a phone. 12yo daughter gets upset that she's not getting a phone too. - You explain to her that her brother is 2 years older, and she'll get her phone when she's 14. She's says it's favoritism that he's getting something and she's getting nothing right now. - You give in and get the daughter a phone. Son gets mad and says it's favoritism that she's getting a phone when she's 12, while you absolutely refused when he was 12 and told him he had to wait until he was 14. It's literally a no-win situation for the parent.

Plot Twist: When Masumi and Ren finally got married, Kasumi heard the rumors, and thrashed around in the house unleashing damages on expensive displays. When her parents saw everything what she did and done, they kicked her out of the house, locked the door so she won't come in, Kasmi becomes emotionless, ends up in the abandoned houses, and rotted her life in hell.
I honestly don't know how I feel about the parents. They treated the "sick" daughter better, forgot about equal love and eventually it became a habit. The "sick" daughter took advantage of their kindness, somewhat responsible nature(I say somewhat because they essentially forgot the not-sick daughter) and lived a lie. When that lie broke, she went ape shit and parents found out the true colors of the "sick" daughter. They apologized to the not-sick daughter but not-sick daughter was tired of them and everything else to do with them. And so she broke ties.

I love this Manga dub. It tells an interesting story of a girl who was always treated badly because her younger sister tried to make her life miserable. Luckily for her Ren planned this all out from the beginning and his friends helped gather the evidence to finally reveal Kasumi’s dark side. Kasumi got what she deserved. And when she’s older by her parents and cries about it here’s my word on that. (Man, what a crybaby). I love it! Keep up the amazing work! You’re the legend Mika!
So he didn’t tell her girlfriend anything… because he didn’t want to worry her?… that’s bs if I’ve ever heard it. If he didn’t want to worry her, he’d have been transparent from the start, or at least said that he had a plan to call Kasumi out.
Even though her lying got exposed and her parents apologized, it's too late to rebuild their relationship with their elder daughter. They should've looked into her illness earlier, now they have to live with the fact that they drove their daughter away.

Quite real story. Usually parents love youngest child the most, and if they also have health problems oh boy. I had to deal with such family myself with my younger sickly brother being the favoured one. It certainly leads to quite a lot self-eestem issues.
the big sister has so much patience. i would have flipped out and started a full on boxing match with the little sister at about 2 minutes in and at that dinner i would have flipped her wheel chair over maybe. knowing me i probably would have done that i have a lot of trauma from 5 straight years of bullying at school and my reactions to that at the end it is well within the realm of possibilities.

For shame. For all the years of Kasumi lying and the parents believing in the lie ended up not only splitting the family apart, but it also destroyed the relationship the parents had with their other daughter, Masumi. Once Kasumi’s lie was exposed thanks to Masumi’s boyfriend collecting evidence, all hell broke loose in the family and her parents were not pleased with being duped by Kasumi for all those years. Moral of the story: Don’t lie to your family or anyone else for that matter just to get what you want because eventually it’ll catch up to you, rear it’s ugly head, and bite you in the behind.
What I find these parents so stupid. Is they can't tell the difference from a fake cough from a real one. They let this brat trick them for a good portion of her childhood. Also didn't they find it odd that she never showed them any bills or receipts from these so called doctors visits. How stupid can they be.

When someone spoils their child and that child stops to get spoiled and gets reprimanded, they literally don't know why because for them being unspoiled isn't normal and just thinks that their parents are mad at them for some reason, until they finally learn how to be unspoiled.

The parents are terrible for how they played favorite with the siblings, it always backfires. I heard quite a few reddit stories similar to this one, where this op had a step sister who was sickly so she spent her whole childhood taking care of her until they became adults and op had a boyfriend who cheated on her with her step sister and got her pregnant and engaged, her parents and relatives was completely on board with it and told op she was the AH and She should support her sister. She told them off and went no contact, then her step mom was the only one reached out and apologized to her and she haven't heard from her father, then her ex kept trying to get back with her but she shut that down.

I remember a Reddit post that has been mentioned on TH-cam a few times where a family had a child that had some really unpleasant illness, and they basically dumped their other kid on the grandparents and whenever the kid wanted to spend time with her parents they always made excuses like how the ill child was more important and eventually the ill child died and the parents suddenly remembered that they had another child and decided to try and make amends and when they got into contact with the kid they neglected that kid justifiably fired back at them by saying "You only have one child and she is dead."

This happens in real life too. Some parents with chronically ill or disabled kids end up overcompensating their treatment of them due to guilt and end up accidentally end up neglecting the “normal” kid in the process. This leads the normal kid to grow up resenting the sick/disabled sibling and parents. A simple apology never cuts it. Most of the neglected kids just cut off all contact with their neglectful parents and spoiled brothers/sisters once they’re old enough to live on their own.
Or their neglect the "normal" or they neglect the disable... what a f*ck up world. Only the chosen ones love them equally

Not surprised that because of kasumi's years of manipulation to make their parents spoil and favour her she's not used to being told no and when ren kept refusing she lost it and kept demanding him to be hers while giving "reasons" why she was better than masumi, not realising that she exposed her true colours to her parents and because of that for the first time in her life she was on the reciving end of their parents anger, shouting at her for lying to them, wasting their money and demanding her to get a job and work, masumi after being shouted at started to heavily sob while begging her parents not to be mad at her like a little kid showing how emotionally stunted kasumi is. Even though the parents finally apologised to masumi it was too late, she cut ties with them and is living a happy life, while kasumi and her parents continue to argue with each other and after every one of them kasumi continues to cry like a spoilt brat.

We both decided to change our phone numbers and new phones asap so they will never contact us again. Time to move on to my new life with my loving husband

This is pretty Common amongst parents with sick/neurodivergent/disabled children, when they dont want to pretend that the issue is not there. Honestly, I can pretty strongly relate to this, being the older sibling and my brother being the younger sibling. I had to work hard to get what I wanted while my mother spoiled my little brother by buying him whatever he wanted. I remember especially getting upset on the inside whenever my mother would give in to my crying little brother and buy almost everything he wanted. I forgive him and my mother, but it doesn't make it right to love a child more than the other. The only reasons I can think of him doing this was he was assuming I was getting more attention because I have Asperger's Syndrome, or he just wanted to one up me in everything or something. I've never asked and tbh, I don't care anymore. I can only pray that my little brother will love his 3 daughters with equal, unconditional love. I don't want them to go through what I went through.

Not showing favoritism is a lot harder than you'd think. Kids won't always see things the same way you do. e.g. You get your 14yo son a phone. 12yo daughter gets upset that she's not getting a phone too.
- You explain to her that her brother is 2 years older, and she'll get her phone when she's 14. She's says it's favoritism that he's getting something and she's getting nothing right now.
- You give in and get the daughter a phone. Son gets mad and says it's favoritism that she's getting a phone when she's 12, while you absolutely refused when he was 12 and told him he had to wait until he was 14.
It's literally a no-win situation for the parent.

I like Masumi couldn't just forgive the parents. Their playing favoutites started the whole thing to begin with, and only made Masumi's situation way worse, so they have blame on this as well.
Especially after they asked Ren to ditch his fiance for her sister.... How do you even consider asking that? He's a freaking human being! You can't just give him to another person! I bet Ren understands Masumi's decision about not forgiving her parents. Plot Twist:
When Masumi and Ren finally got married, Kasumi heard the rumors, and thrashed around in the house unleashing damages on expensive displays. When her parents saw everything what she did and done, they kicked her out of the house, locked the door so she won't come in, Kasmi becomes emotionless, ends up in the abandoned houses, and rotted her life in hell.
Well that's such a good plot twist of seeing the bad character suffered now .
I honestly don't know how I feel about the parents. They treated the "sick" daughter better, forgot about equal love and eventually it became a habit. The "sick" daughter took advantage of their kindness, somewhat responsible nature(I say somewhat because they essentially forgot the not-sick daughter) and lived a lie. When that lie broke, she went ape shit and parents found out the true colors of the "sick" daughter. They apologized to the not-sick daughter but not-sick daughter was tired of them and everything else to do with them. And so she broke ties.

I love this Manga dub. It tells an interesting story of a girl who was always treated badly because her younger sister tried to make her life miserable. Luckily for her Ren planned this all out from the beginning and his friends helped gather the evidence to finally reveal Kasumi’s dark side. Kasumi got what she deserved. And when she’s older by her parents and cries about it here’s my word on that. (Man, what a crybaby). I love it! Keep up the amazing work! You’re the legend Mika!
