  • This student came out of her app cycle with only one waitlist spot after one interview. After reviewing her app, I caught some red flags that we discussed today.

Love watching your vids on a hike hahaha. After looking at her stats I knew it had to do with clinical Hours and narrative. She seems awesome man, she’ll definitely be a great doctor !

Why is clinical experience so difficult for people? Get your CNA and work as a tech PRN and actually get elbows deep in patient care. Work side by side with doctors and ace the application.

Yep. She’s so full of tactics and seem not genuine enough

Hello everyone. I have a quick question. If you have withdrawn from an institution your very first semester of college and transferred to a different college, would you still have to send your transcript from that institution to AMCAS even though you never earned any credits and have a bunch of Ws? Also, if you have transferred over college credits from high school that was affiliated with a community college, would you still have to send in that transcript as well? Please let me know and thank you!

Yes, if you got W's those will go on your application and need a transcript.

So strong ties, does it apply to going and living in Louisiana for 3 years for college ?

I would say so. You can talk about your interactions with community members outside your peers while there

Hi Dr. Gray I didn't do as well as I thought for my MCAT in April. Is August too late for a retake for this cycle? I decided to dive more into practicing Questions as well as getting a tutor to help hone in on my weaknesses.

Accepted MD, I took my MCAT late July last cycle and had several acceptances!

We advise no later than June 30, but it isn't always a dealbreaker to do it later if the rest of your app is good. -MW

@@MedicalSchoolHQ okay thanks for the feedback. I felt like 3 months with a dedicated tutor was optimal for me. Since I took it on Apr 30 and got scores back on May 31.

19:29 This right here is when her application falls apart. No clinical experience and whenever Dr. Gray questions her about it, she deflects saying that she didn't know. She keeps reiterating that she could not get clinical experience because of COVID-19. Us working as EMS, CNAs, and patient care techs or ER techs would say otherwise. Absolutely funny these pre-meds who stayed home during the pandemic. It's good to prioritze your safety and that of your loved ones, but many of us were in the trenches with doctors, nurses, and respiratory therapists. People who didn't go through it just don't understand.

There are definitely jobs out there. You just have to look. A lot can also depend on the city you live in.

I am a patient care technician, was it made more difficult because of COVID… yes but it is doable and not really an excuse to not have clinical experience so I agree with you
