I like the way you don't lean to one certain rod or reel. You fish with low and mid range stuff and catch lots of fish and have fun. You also recognize bank fisherman from time to time. I like your philosophy.
I fish Wylie pretty often. Had some chicken breast in the freezer that’s been sitting there for awhile, didn’t have time to catch some bait this past weekend so I decided to give it a shot. Caught my PB blue cat at 46lb lol. I caught a few bluegill that morning and the chicken out done it. I’m a BELIEVER!!! Local Food Lion is sold out of chicken thanks to that one trip.
Hey Dieter, love your channel and have used some of your tactics from the bank because I don't have a boat. So in this video, how do these tips work for fishing from the bank vs a boat.
One thing i like about your channel is that you prove that you can catch decent size fish on the "more affordable" priced reels. IE: Piscifun...Ancient Mariner...Kast King... etc...the $50-$60 reels instead of $120-$150+. I have a handfull of Kast King 60s and a few 70s and no problems with them whatsoever. Mind you they are not the quality but around here we don't have the 40+lb tanks and i can only fish once maybe twice a week so these do me just fine.
I catch +45lb cats all the time on my tiger rod and real from Walmart. $20 each for the rod and reel. Brought in a 60+ pounder last month on it. Great poles.

I've fished hundreds of days over the last couple years on 3 different lakes and 2 or three rivers. One bait that I've used every time was live bluegill. I honestly can't remember a time that I didn't catch at least one good sized catfish. I've tried frozen shad one time and never got a bite and I never tried it again. I haven't tried chicken in years but when I did 10 or so years ago I never caught anything. I mean I tried for years to catch a catfish and I couldn't. I tried every store bought catfish bait I could buy. Learn to throw a cast net and throw it at boat ramps so you would get it hung up. Any fish you catch in the 4-8 inch range will work great for bait although it may not be legal to use some types for bait. Hook them through the back and cast toward the middle of the lake, set the pole down and wait for one to bend your pole in half. My friend took me to Truman lake in Missouri and nearly every fish we caught was 3 feet long and we caught dozens. I'd never seen anything like it. Now all my friends think I'm some kind of fishing genius. But it's really mainly all about 3 things. Location, location, location. If the fish are there you'll catch them if you put a fish that's smaller then them on a hook. Fresh cut or live shad are tied for first place with bluegill. I hadn't caught a shad in my life until my friend showed me where to catch them.

Heavy medium fast tuna rods work well along w pike or Muskie rods 1-10 oz or 15-40 rod I like 7. ‘ 6.6 boat rods if your shore or bank I change to surf rods 9-12’ 5-8 k reels Enough to cast 4 oz of wieght That’s 2 oz plus the bait
Why don't you help out some people who don't have a boat. How about doing some episodes on bank fishing. Do you go to Ohio that all? And just show basic ways from bank fishing flatheads and blues and maybe some big Channel. Cuz you're always out there in a boat showing people what to do how to do it and everything. Like I said not a people don't have both so some good bank fishing videos for catfish from the shore would be great. For big catfish.
why not just buy oasters same thing as what they eating..same price as that chicken you buying..all video i watched so far people using chicken not catching GIANTS

Blues at Lake Gaston like the shrimp. I think it has something to do with the amount of clams in that system.

You should do a video explaining you rig set up for catfish, I see you using planners, but why the lures when using the chicken or perch
The lures are really floats to keep the bait off the bottom. It is called a Santee rig.
