    I'm not crazy about the music, but the video is great! Love the small-screen map to tell you where you are!

      the only flaw about the map is that the marker is big, so you dont know exactly where you are, because the location marker is too big.

      It’s not very accurate. 1:02:00 the day ends somewhere in Philadelphia and the next day starts with the Branford, CT stop & shop on the right, getting onto the exit 56 on ramp northbound on i95. (On a map it’s exactly halfway through i95 in southern CT). And the map is showing NYC for both. And the day also ends before reaching Providence even though the map showed Boston.

    1:02:00 That ain’t New York City, you started day 37 at stop & shop, next to i 95, exit 56, Branford CT, which is about a 90 mile drive north on i 95 from NYC. It literally skipped from Philadelphia, PA to Branford, CT.

    It was amazing to watch, when was it done, my guess is early March to May, as it looks like April in the north (Snow in Illinois and from Minnesota to Utah, but sunny and the sun setting north of west). It looks like you started driving late morning and into the night most of the days. A great video, I watche dit in about 5 chunks as we have data limits here still.

    Hey, super serious question. I notice the sun is in some of your shots and I want to know how you got things to not look terrible and under-exposed. Can you please get back to me with this?

  • @Nightmare_Texas
    @Nightmare_Texas 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    Found an error in Texas. Where you put San Antonio to Houston is actually ozona to San Antonio, and where you put Houston to New Orleans is San Antonio to Houston. There is absolutely no rocky geography east of I35 it’s just prairies and trees where as west of 35 is very rugged terrain with big hills canyons and rocks.

    This is a great video!
    How did you get the minimap to follow where you were travelling? I assume it was added in using SV12, but how exactly did yout create it?
    How did you store all those photos en route? Did you buy a external HD just for this project?
    Also you're odometer seems to be off. Los Angeles to New Orleans is about 3,000 km... not 4,000 km.
    Still... Very Cool!

    • @Barschti
      @Barschti  10 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks :)
      The Map is just a big picture which is slowly moving in the background and u only see a part of it. the cursor is always in the middle.
      At the very beginning we tracked our position with gps to create a map with the exact position for each picture. Unfortunately the gps-signal was unstable and therefore the collected data useless.
      Yeah, we bought a 3TB external HDD for this project ^^
      And the kilometers are slightly more than the actually distance, because we also drove around the citys for sightseeing, but we did'nt filmed that. So our over-all dictance was more than the planned route.

      Awesome. I'd very much like to do somthing just like this (Although I presently have neither a GoPro nor a Car).
      How did you make sure the "panning" on the minimap was correctly paced with the footage? Or did you just kind of fudge it?
      Is there a way to shoot photos directly to the HDD? Or did you back it up once a day!
      Sorry for all the questions. Just want to know more for when I eventually do this!

    • @Barschti
      @Barschti  10 ปีที่แล้ว

      AlphaBetaParkingLot Hey, dunno if u still need the infos, but here are the answers ^^
      my original plan was to geotag every picture, then use a gps-tracker for our trip and combine these two for the exact location for every frame.
      The problem was, that my gps-tracker lost the track a couple of times per day. so I decided to stop using it and instead I just moved the map day for day in the video, so the only the start and end of every day is perfectly correct.
      I used two 64GB cards and switched them if they went full. I found no way to save the pics directly on a HDD.

    The author seemed more intent on recording his music playlist than be accurate about distance and times. I note that the counter that appears in the upper left corner doesn't seem to have to do with anything. It is a fraud. It doesn't slowdown or stop when the car slows. It continues at the same rate. I had thought that it might be recording KM, but that seems unlikely. And it can't be a timer. If it is, it is zeroed to the wrong time, or not calibrated at all. I am not sure what to recommend about these time lapse videos except to read the manual that comes with the camera more carefully. It would be nice to have a still image of important mile stones for the trip. The map in the lower left corner is just too small. An accurate digital clock would have been very valuable. Also the camera man was not careful about apature as some sequences were under or overexposed.

    • @Barschti
      @Barschti  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey. The counter in the top is our total distance in miles. my camera had no gps so it is impossible to get the exact speed to slow down the counter. I get the distance between our big stops and fit the counter to it. also the inner-city traffic (finding parking spot, shopping, etc) is mostly skipped, because the turns are too fast and causing headache.And yeah, it was our first usage of this camera. we were still finding out how its works the best. but we cant do the same distance twice, just because our camera fails ^^ But thanks for your input. if i would did the same trip another time, i dould do much things in another way.
