This song was inspired by Midori's hobby of stopping at churches on her travels, her interactions with people she met in black churches in England and America, and the gospel music she heard there.
Asami also wrote the lyrics in the hope that they would be of help to people around the world who are suffering from the pandemic and have lost sight of hope.
Ironically, Asami tearfully confessed on the live stage in 2021 that the time when they were recording this song was a time when they themselves were so emotionally driven that they had to discuss breaking up the band several times.
Lovebites is not a religious band. There're some spiritual symbolisms in this song/MV but they're metaphorical. This track was released back in 2021 during the height of the pandemic and Asami (lead vocalist) mentioned in an interview that she wanted this song to be a gift of hope to humanity during extremely trying times.
This music video came out during the Covid pandemic. Asami wrote positive lyrics for the song to give people confidence that the pandemic will pass and people will stop dying. The guy in the video is the reincarnation of Jesus Christ who came to Earth to save humanity. There is no excessive religiosity in "Glory to the World". LoveBites simply used some symbols of Christianity in their work, such as the Chapel, the image of Jesus Christ, bloody stigmata, the words "Hallelujah", a huge glowing cross above Asami before the guitar solos, singing Angels and others, to make it look more spectacular from an artistic point of view.
"Holy War" is not a religious song at all. "Holy War" is a song dedicated to the revival and protection of real heavy metal.
Lovebites is specialized in uplifting and positive WARSONGS!
"war" to be understood as a process, an evolution of oneself tho get a richer sense of existence . . .
They're insane. No other way to explain Lovebites.

This video is recorded 23 of december during the pandemic. The filmmaker choosed to have X-mas vibes. So they filmed it in a weddingchapel ( nerd fact: Casa D'Angela) it is just for businesses so japanese kan marry western style.Japan is Zen -Biddhismic. Well there are a couple of millions Christians as well in Japan. What a guy with stigma has to do with X-mas only the filmwriter will now. For me he represent us The Wolfpack that was longing to hear them live and couldn't and the message is is to heal the world, not a special religion or people...
The creators of the music video said this ( "Barks Japanese", February 24,2021)😊:
"LOVEBITES is releasing a music video that tells the story of the reincarnation of Christ.
"Glory To The World" is a song with a solemn atmosphere that combines church music and gospel lyrics, as well as a choir and gorgeous synthesizers. In addition to the band's performance scene, filmed in a church to match the image of the song, the released music video features another story unfolding in parallel. In order to express the concept of "resurrection after overcoming difficulties" of "GLORY, GLORY TO THE WORLD", a work that will encourage fans and the world during the coronavirus pandemic, we created an image of what would happen if Jesus Christ, the symbol of "resurrection", was reincarnated in modern times. It also depicts an original story, giving it a slightly different atmosphere than LOVEBITES' previous music videos."
LOVEBITES - Glory to the World lyrics & credits:
Everything around us will fall into dark
When you keep on looking into the sadness
Nobody in this world may ever be free
My hearts will shiver and I can't take deep breath
But rains will end, and nights will pass, griefs will purify
The dawn will come and bring the light in this world
Grace to my heart, Hallelujah
I know you really care for me
So I leave everything in your hands
You'd walk with me all the way
Learning to love yourself
It is the greatest love of all
Time will come where we feel the love and the reason to be me
Standing in nowhere and searching for meanings
A sleepless night haunting us like a shadow
A blur in the future, the fear of unknown
There will come a time where we can leave everything behind
Breeze are running through the land and endless to the sky
Together we will make it through this deep night
Grace to my heart, Hallelujah
I know you really care for me
So I leave everything in your hands
You'd walk with me all the way
Learning to love yourself
It is the greatest love of all
Time will come where we feel the love and the reason to be me
SOLO: midori / miyako / both
And rains will end, and nights will pass, griefs will purify
The dawn will come and bring the light and lead us to a new world
Grace to my heart, Hallelujah
I know you really care for me
So I leave everything in your hands
You'd walk with me all the way
Learning to love yourself
It is the greatest love of all
Wherever you go, this world that we breathe together,
Nothing more precious

Other comments have already mentioned the probable religious connections with this song so I won't repeat. But for your reference I hope this helps -
Haruna "little BIG Engine" drums (4'9"; 1.45m)
Asami "The One & Only Voice" vocals (4'10"; 1.47m)
Midori "Crazy Shredder" guitar (4'11"; 1.5m)
Miyako "The Golden Touch" guitar/piano (5'2"; 1.58m)
Miho "Natural Born Head-Banger" bass (5'1"; 1.55m) 2016-2021
Fami "Shining Fingers" bass (5ft 3in)2022-present
nicknames given by the band. 😊😊
I always love their lyrics, this song is no exception, They make some of the best songs, but the lyrics tie into such profound thoughts and makes you happy.
None of their songs are about any petty teenage drama or disrespectful in any way. They have music about the aftermath of war and talk about the basics of stuff like pride, self-improvement and self-determination. Recently they have written songs about fake people, who are disingenuous, evil and destructive.
With "Glory to the World" it is a message of hope and unity, overcoming darkness and adversity to find a brighter future, resilience and the strength to stand together. The lyrics reflect a journey through challenges and the ultimate triumph of light and glory, symbolizing a collective victory and the hope for a better world.
A new song called "The Bell in the Jail" has an interesting section that calls out evil people and their schemes.
Preaching racists, pretending to be good
Wanting to rule others, fillеd with greed
Screams of hearts always wasted and lеft out
Viciously, bringing the innocents to death
MIDORI and MAO composers, lyrics ASAMI of course.
Christian symbolism is often used by more than one band. Look at Babymetal's "Death: from the Legend 1997 concert.
Religion has nothing to do with the music of the lovebites. Holy War talks about a battle in defense of metal, using the metaphor of war and metal warriors. This song uses religious elements only in a metaphorical sense, and wants to be a song of optimism and hope in the midst of the tragedy of Covid.
There is definitely religious symbolism in this video. There are marks on his forehead representing the crown of thorns from Jesus's crucifixion, and the blood on the palms represents the wounds on Christ's hands while he was hanging on the cross. With that said, the band is not a religious band and am not sure how much input, if any, the band had in the creation of the video.
