I loved the mystery bit to this mission. Made it a bit different and interesting - not to mention, who can't resist a murder mystery in an old mansion?
No one, the best whodunnits are in creepy old manors. But I feel bad for the butlers of the whodunnits cause they’re the prime suspects

Actually Alexa is meant to kill herself in this play through, but he just pushed her off instead.

And this makes Patrick's comment later in the mission brilliant: "atleast I'm not a child of incest"
Cousins don't count as incest because the genes are just about distanced enough to avoid the usual consequences of incest (i.e. high risk of birth defects, retardation, etc.).
The brain is stronger than any weapon man can imagine and this proves it, he walked in with no gunshot wounds and he walked out with none, this is how I would play to be sure ;).

i like how Diana's very in to solving the mystery with 47, to the point of giving him suggestions. She knows he's gonna get the hit done, so she's fully on board with whatever goofy or roundabout plan he goes with, up to and including going on an elaborate tangent. I know her commentary is partially to help the player, but it's also some cute characterization

diana was invested in the start, when she found out that the detective was there. i imagine the situation of “Zachary is dead in his bed” only piqued her interest because this is wild

BUT I don't see a single person commenting about the ending of this mission. Always gives me goosebumps. I love it!
First time I played this mission, I was like "Yooo, No way!!!". Like when Diana's mic got interrupted, I got proper creeped out. Everything sounded muffled, I had to test my headset and my ears if it wasn't in-game. But it was part of the game. Loved it!

I don't think it is, the developers confirmed that the dartmoor level and the whodunit idea had been in development before knives out was released
Actually Dartmoor was also the setting of the most popular Holmes book “The Hound Of The Baskervilles”

That ending... man, it makes me wish there were pacifist options. I know the plot won't allow for such loose ends, but it's kind of neat having a target impressed with his skills beyond killing and wanting to hire you.
I know what you mean, but amusingly, depending on what you tell Alexa, you can get her to either commit suicide (if you tell her Zachery killed himself) or have her murdered by Emma (if you tell her the Butler did it and repair the distillation machine in the greenhouse).
Ugh, no. That she had a cool moment before being rightfully done in doesn't make her not a bloated maggot living in an oversized house.
technically there are targets who die via proxy, being killed by others, even in this mission alone alexa is poisoned by emma (who killed zachary) without 47 doing anything
This isn't the full investigation, you missed Rose's confession and the letter in the secret room.

This is by far the coolest level in all of the Hitman games. I'm big into murder and mystery and detective work. However, I'm not being exactly biased because the reason I like this level so much is because it has so many twists within twists and stories that go in a circle. So we find out that Emma is a murder, the butler is a murder, alexa your target is a murderer and going to be murdered without you having to do any work. She even commits suicide which might be the first time I have seen where your target kills themselves although I believe there was a suicide by gun one in a older game.
In the first mission of Hitman 2 2018, the target make suicide underwater.
Outstanding detective work and story. Definitely worth playing this level a few more times, and the game itself.
I wonder if the reason she walked out onto the balcony was actually because she figured out that your still there to kill her, and the last thing she wanted to see was the garden of the manor and everything that lay behind it before she died...probably wasn't expecting to be thrown off the ledge though.

For some reason, when I did this mission she doesn't leave the room straight away, she hangs around and then is accompanied outside by a bodyguard. Makes it hard to just push her over.

47 always has nice clothing. Puts my collection of t-shirts, sweatpants and jeans to shame, anyway. I like to imagine 47 off screen casually browsing clothing stores, holding up shirts to his chest in the mirror lol.
One tip. Use a coin to lure the PI from the bushes after he crosses the first bridge. You can throw the coin into the bushes and he’ll still hear it.
If you get him in the bush nobody will see you. It’s not that difficult and it makes your entry exceedingly easier.

Awesome, a Hitman level set in Devon, one of the best counties in all the UK.
I can’t help but feel like, it’s set in Devon as a homage to Agatha Christie, seen as the main theme is a whodunnit 😍

The best of comedy is 47 impersonating a P.I. from London and sounding American. I love how IO just embraced the absurdity of the whole series and started rolling with it
I cannot get over how you have a lockpick but still insist on crowbarring your way through every single locked door you come across.
This whole thing feels like a loving pastiche of Agatha Christie serials and I love it.
Most of the clues were hard to find I think I was missing 2 of 3 of them

oh that is another plot to the mission story, the daughter in law of Alexa Carlisle is planning to kill her, and has killed Zachary by distilling poison, so she slipped it in the drink. I think there's some videos of it happening on TH-cam. Good hunting

I almost didn't want to kill Alexa after this. I get that she's done terrible things, and shares the blame for Providence's crimes, but out of all of the members of Providence she's the only one who doesn't seem like a complete, self-centered twit.
Honestly all of the story beats in 3 were great, shame it was the last game in the trilogy.
Funny enough she actually kills herself when she goes to the balcony after you solve the murder and reveal everything.

@@dimaswitanto2994 the one that stops Whitmer is at 1:03, and every other guard just speaks with American accent whenever you distract them or sees something suspicious.
Probably just the dev team forgot or lazy to record another voice lines for the guards, since this also goes with guards in every map. They just speak with American accent.

This mission left me parched in ways I didn’t know were possible. There were several moments that literally took my breath away. I could actually feel what can only be described as mental mummification. An overwhelming sense of droll that I’ve never wanted to experience in a game.
I actually dozed off for a bit at one point. This mission is the equivalent of painting the town beige. I suppose its all in good fun though; and by fun I mean night. Good night. 😉💤
