He was 285 lbs his entire freshman season at Duke..yet set the standing vertical leap record (since broken) at Duke...averaged 22.6 ppg all season long...came back from a foot injury that EVERYONE said SHOULD HAVE BEEN a season-ender, that he should have sat out the rest of the season...
And he *ONLY* turned every single game into his own personal ESPN Top 10 highlight reel, with steals, running dunks, running the full length of the court on offense AND defense (ask Virginia how he got all the way across the court to leap and block a 3-pointer into the 3rd row of seats), even a 360 dunk! The man LITERALLY was a walking Unstoppable Force all season long, and anybody who got in his way regretted it...even 7'6" Tacko Fall, who he DUNKED ON in Duke's NCAAT game vs UCF.
He co-led the team in ppg (22.6, along with RJ Barrett), led the team in steals, dunks and highlight reel plays by a MILE, and was a freight train with legs. Even after sitting out THREE WEEKS with a foot injury, and being told he should never play another game in a Duke uniform by EVERYONE (including THIS 🤡)...he came back like he never missed a beat, helped Duke beat Carolina (the same team that had beaten Duke without him less than a month earlier), and helped lead Duke to the Sweet 16.
He and Barrett had no help that year--everyone else just stood around and watched. If they had PLAYED, or they'd had some good players to compliment Barrett and Williamson...Duke would have EASILY won the championship that year. NOBODY could stop Barrett or Williamson all year long--NOBODY. A significant foot injury, to a guy who weighed 285 lbs, SHOULD have been a season-ender, at LEAST. Instead, it barely even slowed him DOWN.
Stephen A. Smith can call him all the names he wants to. Zion is averaging over 22 ppg against PRO ATHLETES. You don't do THAT unless you're a DAMN good player.
They say, "Those who can't do, teach." In Stephen A.'s case, it's more like, "Those who can't do, talk sh**." Stephen A., do you think you're the FIRST guy to talk sh** about Zion's weight? Does he need to tone his body up? Sure. Does he need a personal trainer to get him in shape and keep him there? Absolutely.
