Without a Doubt Alan Carr is the funniest man in Europe.Probably North America also.He is excellent at putting himself down...and being nice when he puts someone else down.He has mastered the comic timing.
I wouldn't put him anywhere close to the funniest man in Europe, but I also don't think that detracts from his persona at all. He manages to be funny while still being (or appearing as) a genuinely decent human being, which is pretty rare. Usually, comedians are either funny but heartless or goodhearted but banal.
