20" Classics Custom Extreme Metal Ride
18" HCS Big Bell Ride
We neeeeed a 22" Mega Bell Ride like the Soundcaster Custom Mega bell but in the Byzance or Pure Alloy serie.
Absolutely, I love the Soundcaster Custom Mega bell ride, but I always felt like the bell was a bit to weak, I feel like in a different Material it would sound amazing. 👌🏻
@@Philipp.of.Swabia The bell of the Soundcaster Custom Mega Bell is weak due to the weight. It weighs around 3550g, which is strangely light for a 22" metal ride. In comparison, the Zildjian Mega Bell (imo THE best mega bell) weighs around 4000g while being 1" smaller, which is CRAZY heavy and it sounds sooo beefy.
I've commented this a bunch of times. Stupid not to have a high end mega bell. I have a soundcaster custom shop 20 mega bell.
@@joshuachan56 yes, that Ride is sic, I guess the Byzance heavy hammered is the most close to that one in the Meinl catalog, but I’d rather trade in that one more inch for a bigger bell.
Agree!…..none of these cymbals have the power of Soundcaster, I owned two of the ones in the video (including the 22” Byzance HH) and in my humble opinion, still not able to feel the real mega bell.
Personally I think other vendors have more solid options regarding mega/giga bell rides, for my metal cymbal set, the ride is the only one that is not Meinl, because I’ve not found any that has the power I want, compared to Zildjian/Sabian/Pastie options.
For a cheap cymbal, the HCS isn’t bad at all. Nice video.
ya at least the bell sounds loud the dark and metal ones sound weak for size
As much as I was actually surprised by the bow's sound, I almost puked when I heared the bell...But yeah, for the price it's not bad
Meinl, please make a 20” Dark China🙏🏻
Man. This... This is how you advertise and film your product comparisons. Way to go Meinl. This is so sick
The most metal cymbal presentation ever.
18" BLAST BEATS:
0:13 HEAVY DARK
0:49 EXTREME METAL
1:07 HCS
I got the serpent’s ride when it came out and used it for years as a crash ride. It has the perfect “big crash” sound!
What about the bigger size rides WITH the enormous bell of the 18 inches?
Wouldnt that be the best of both worlds? :)
Yeah, the huge bell should be on them all!
I love how creative you make all your cymbals presentations!)
One of the attributes of the Serpents ride is it's ability to also open up, offering more versatility. This was a "brilliant" comparison, and yet that was not demonstrated here.
This is a *_bell/ride comparison_* and most of the other cymbals sound like 💩 when crashed, so what's the point. You have to go to an individual cymbal test video to see what all the possibilities are.
24" wins this battle for me.
24 Brilliant i think is the best!!!
That 24 inch ohhh boy
Great demo! I tested the 18" dark and the 22" HH (best of this bunch IMO) myself and I ended up with the 21" Ghost Ride, because I wanted a ride with a cutting bell that also has good crash capabilities. 🤘🏼
I was *not* expecting that shimmery sound from the Serpent's Ride. I'd have to say my other fave was the 20" Custom Classic Dark.
The HCS is amazing value for sure!
Ayyyye, the perfect drummer to demo the bells 💪🏽🔥
What kind of Evans snare?
They all sound good
If you guys would ever sell your customs big bell rides they would out sell all of these. It wouldnt even be close. I have two custom shop big bell rides and they sound better.
I love MEINL, but I just wish there was more of a belly ride like Zildjian's A custom mega, or Paiste's Rude Eclipse mega ride. Don't get me wrong, the selection MEINL have is nice, it'll cut through, it just doesn't have that emphhh imo. I'll have a full set of MEINL cymbals except for the ride lol
Same dude the zildjian A mega bell is amazing. I wish Meinl made something that sounded more like it
Bros, 100% in agreement with your thoughts, my ride is then only non Meinl cymbal because none of the ones listed in the video convinced me, I’ve tried at 4 of them…all the other cymbals vendors have better competitors for this type of rides.
@@Timotolas Exactly, out of all of them the 18'' classics is the one I'll choose, but I hope someday in the future they make another one with more bell and less ping. The rides showcased are great, but we need a brutal one lol

Amazing Legend RockNRoll Drummers 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻😎
ive got the 20 inch heavy dark it sounds so good im not even upset i didnt have this comparison video when looking for a new ride
Sandblasted classics customs would be so nice. Classics custom dry!
I was not expecting to like the heavy hammered ride so much!
Superb video, love these comparison + the playing and the mix are incredible
The 18" classic custom brilliant 🤤
I prefer the first one
Hell yeah
Dark ride 20
What sticks was he using? 2Bs, thinner, thicker?
he uses scott johnston light marching sticks
MEINL ROCKS!🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
show
I thought I was cheaping out buying the hcs big bell over the classics custom, but I think I got the better bell after all 🤔
Why does there always have to be a gravity blast?! No one cares...I'm glad you went back around at the end.
There was no gravity blast and even if their was hes demoing metal orientated rides so it would make sense to do a blast beat
That's what most of these rides are going to be used for. It makes a lot more sense than the idiots you always see trying to swing on a 3500g big bell ride demo
says the guy that cant play blast beats LOL.
