I trusted my rabbit too much, because she went a month without biting any wires, so I was like "Oh, she's probably fine"
Then I borrowed my brothers computer mouse and she snipped it with her teeth in about 2 seconds. This couldn't have come at a better time haha

A word of caution. I was just measuring a length of split wire loom to use to protect my phone charger from my bunny. Before I even had the chance to cut it the little guy chewed all the way through it while it was hanging out of the box. (I’m only thankful I found out that way before I actually plugged it in!) Thank the Lord.

Your videos and website are great. very helpful! But I would suggest adding some background music or maybe some fun video pop up memes just to keep your videos a little bit more interesting.

Interesting how rabbits simulate chewing wires with chewing roots that getting in their way while burrowing. Makes sense. And the digging on floors and carpets at closed doors. In spite of these behaviors being destructive, its fascinating how their deep rooted biological tenancies are acted out in the house. Just knowing this will give rabbit owners a heads up as to where destructive actions within the house may manifest themselves. A very in depth post. Thanks so much.

A good type of area rug to get for rabbits is one made of Seagrass. It's a natural fiber, so it shouldn't be toxic to them (unless they ingest tons of it). That's what I got to put on top of my hardwood floor in my rabbit room (where they stay 24/7), and they did end up eating bits of it but they never got sick. Obviously, it's not going to stay in "top shape". Mines have several holes in them after 1 year and a half, but it should last at least a few more years.

We just started rabbit proofing for our future rabbit. Since it's starter room will be in my studio, we're sectioning off a larger corner where we'll lay a table liner (like a rolling mat for chairs, but thicker) over my shag carpet and then fence it in with the dog play pen. I've bought thick clear tubing and have put the wires in that area I couldn't move out of reach through them as well as hooking all other wires up onto the wall and out of reach. Many of my wires travel the walls/ceiling anyways to keep the room clear when I'm in there.
Thankfully, besides two carpets (my shag one above and a large one in the living room), the carpets below them are horrible and if they get damaged a little, it won't be a big deal, but our goal is still to avoid it for the rabbit's safety...
My goal is to slowly collect everything I need for the bunny over the next few months while continuing to rabbit proof the entire house. Only then, when it's complete, do we get the bunny. I rather spend extra time and money preparing than extra time and money over damage to the house or rabbit.
This video gave me a few ideas for a couple areas I wasn't yet sure how to block off.

Hey where do u get the cnc cubes at 2:51 in the video. The things protecting your cords (not cord protectors)? I have been looking for them to bunny proof my walls so my bunnies don’t chew them. But i can not find them anywhere lol

Search for 'wire storage cubes' on eBay or Amazon, they are normally sold as wire shelving, heres an example: www.ebay.co.uk/itm/16-Metal-Wire-DIY-Storage-Cubes-Rack-Grid-Bookcase-Display-Cabinet-Shelving-/313314438886?_trksid=p2349624.m46890.l49292

The cord cover can be found in automotive section in some stores and is a lifesaver! I still have cords covered with it years later. My current bun derives great joy in being Destructobun and I think I'll get one of those under chair mats for a hot spot in the living room. I need more of the DIY cubes to fence off half the downstairs 🙄 I use baby gates too, to reasonable success. A flemish giant can apparently launch himself over a standard height one with ease. Who knew???

Hi, a bit of an unrelated question, but I adopted 2 1.5 year old rabbits, brother and sister, brother is neutered sister is not. (She is gonna be fixed soon, next month or so)
It has been 3 weeks and we aren't are the point where they like to be touched yet. They were neglected by previous owners. They were kept in an outside bike shed in a hutch most of their lives.
They are now indoor rabbits and as such look like they may be shedding.
Since they aren't happy to be touched yet I am scared to forcibly pic them up and undoing all the trust. I do want to groom them though to prevent intestinal blockage. I have read online that throwing a towel on them is something people do but I don't want to do it until I get a specialists opinion, honestly sounds like it would terrify them.
Would you recommend the towel method or do you have a better way of doing it or should I just hold off till the trust forms and they immediately bolt on my approach?
