Yeah! Lagoona was my favorite character and then when I saw what they changed her to I was sad. Although I like the hair I don’t like how they changed her backstory and how Lagoona Blue isn’t blue. :(
Honestly, with how common it's become for brands to collab with influencers/content creators/ social media personalities I feel like this is actually a possibility somewhere down the line! I need a vlog series about what goes into designing dolls, what has to be considered for mass production etc. That would be soooooo interesting and a great way for them to cash in on the doll customizing community.
Fun fact about Draculaura: She went to Shibooya ( a ghoul version of Shibuya, Japan) as a foreign student for one semester from Monster High. I think in this version, she just got back to Monster High in harajuku fashion, so everyone would know that she enjoyed her time in Japan. What do you think?
Lolita is the only correct option for Draculaura, it fits on all levels. Color palette, mood, victorian-esque aesthetics while still being soft and cute- It’s completely golden!!

They're Non-Binary now *(highly advertised)* and they don't even say what pronouns they use. Stereotyping the enby community aswell as showing their lack of care to even do research on any of the enby community just shows how soulless media has become.
I feel like you said, the dark aesthetic is what gave MH the edge. I’m not in love with the redesign, but I really LOVE the body- and face molds for making my own designs! I think it’s really perfect for creators and kids, just on different levels! I wouldn’t really want to collect these like the old ones, but absolutely use them in my projects!

Fr monster high has turned into cutesy puppy high like I really miss the old edgy, Gothic, detailed, style. They basically travelled back into the past 😭 they were so ahead of their time but now they're behind. I like how they're including more body types though, but I would've loved the emoness with different body types.
I like how curvy Draculaura is a more canon thing now! It was actually a popular thing in the fandom in like fanart and stuff so it’s cool that Mattel saw that and said ‘Ya know what? Sure she can have a bit more meat on her!’ Definitely suits her!
@@yumyuh6065 it doesn't really have to make sense!! it's fiction, and it doesn't really matter :D all bodies are different. my food intake is not unhealthy, but i'm not exactly skinny. i was always this way, even as a child. it's nice to see dolls that aren't stereotypically on the thinner side because it shows that everyone can be different yet beautiful!! if you think about it, the whole show doesn't make any sense at all because none of the characters should exist logically. it's made up, and that's the beauty in it!!
I do appreciate it but even in her “curvier” state she still has a fairly small waist and honestly only her thighs seem noticeably bigger idk I kinda wish they would’ve committed a bit more to having her be curvy

while i don’t love most of the g3 monster high designs, i’m super glad they’ve made a comeback and doll customizers have even more choices to customize! plus i love her body type, it’s pretty unique compared to most dolls and suits her well.

I'd like to see that too! Im still not entirely into how they redid Cleo (she's royalty, she was meant for more golds in her look). The shades of blue they use are okay, but they could stand to be toned down somewhat.

I love the new molds for monster high, but I LOVED the dark and gothic style as a kid. I really like how they changed the body to something more realistic! And the art on the box was so cute tho! 😮
I also prefer the designs with more black/white/grey over the colorful ones (I too am a huge fan of gothic lolita!) But I understand they want to broaden their audiences and create outfits for those who may not like that style
I love the new body of Draculaura cuz she's curvy, a lot of dolls growing up just didn't have curves so seeing her with some curves is definitely really nice to see. She built like me fr 😭

She’s curvy but still incredibly unrealistic. She has thick thighs but bigger hips and a thigh gap. And her waist is still pretty small. She just caters to the new body standard of being slim thicc.

Frankie is absolutely my favorite of G3- it’s amazing to see a nonbinary doll be included and really reinforces Monster High’s message of self-love and celebrating who you are. Plus Frankie was my first Monster High doll ever, so of course I have to get another Frankie to bring things full circle.
Hands down, this has to be my absolute favorite doll repaint. Everything about it is just so...Wow! You captured the OG monster high and the EGL look perfect. Honestly, if that dress was made by Metamorphose, (lets be honest, AP wouldn't touch it with a ten foot pole) I'd buy it in a heartbeat. I love, love, love this!
I also have mixed emotions when it comes to the G3 dolls. While I think they're cute, I definitely miss the G1 style. I'm just glad Mattel still hasn't forgotten the G1 fans and are making creeproductions and G1 style dolls, like the Reel Drama line. Also, do Frankie next. They're personally my favorite of the G3 dolls, and the first one of the G3 dolls I bought.

I do love how they did the ears of this new Draculaura. They're so much more pointy and stand out more, its so cute. And this customisation is amazing, she looks incredible. It's such a nice mix of new and old and then your own style added on to it to add it all together

Okay this is probably the most beautiful face you've done so far. Also love the overall design. I don't really care about the G3, they have lost the edge for which I loved the original dolls, but I do love this Draculaura a lot, much better actually than the og one. This new body type really fits her well, I think.
I am absolutely OBSESSED with Draculaura's faceup! The makeup is on point, and i really do agree that the slight undershadow/bag look works so well for her character design! The outfit is beautiful as well, though the whole fit reminds me of Celestia Ludenberg from Dangonranpa. Would you consider repainting the whole main group? I'm so intrigued as to what g3 Clawdeen or even Lagoona sans Blue would look like lol

Wow she is adorable. My 15yo Granddaughter had most of the original Monster High but her little sister (5 yr age difference) decided to practise hairdressers & surgeons on them . She scalped them & chopped them up!
I hate G3 bc it’s just so far from what made the OG monster high great, so seeing this custom doll was a delight because it’s true to the gothic routes and it’s just absolutely amazing, you never disappoint!!!!
Your design is just, yes. I prefer the old styles, for sure, but I do appreciate that the ghouls have more varied body shapes than before….and articulated bodies again, so glad those are back!
I have actually never really been that attached to monster high cuz I haven't seen a lot, I have probably seen a episode or two when I was younger but not a lot. Monster high isn't really that popular in my country but I love the aesthetic and if I'm being honest I love your version so much more then the original! It's more like the aesthetic I love about monster high and if this would be an actual doll then I'd buy it, Keep up the amazing work! 🧡
Ahh I wish I had the spare funds and space to collect some of the current fashion dolls. I love the chunky, pear-shaped faux-BJD body type companies are going for these days, like Rainbow High and the goth equivalent and now these. This is a great repaint too!

Oh my GHOUL!!!! The eyes you gave her are soooo mesmerizing! I was always a huge draculaura fan, and I grew a huge love for her G3 doll as well. But the only thing I really didn't like was her g3 outfit. You did her so much justice it's practically criminal! If you ever start selling some customized g3 dolls, then i would be more than happy to throw my rent at you to support a business and buy some.
Draculaura looks insanely cute in your gothic lolita rendition, I love this type of fashion! I do wish they stuck with the darker themes for the dolls, it was definitely a large part of their appeal, for me anyway 🥲
Off topic, can I just say that remembering the shyish boy who created a Starbucks logo doll with a whole load of hot glue to what you have created and have grown to become has been lovely to watch, your repaints have become amazing (more fabulous than before lol) and you seem much more yourself! Draculaura and cleo are my favorites, lagoona and deuce are actually not that bad but the rest are just underwhelming.. G3 Draculaura is such a beautiful doll it's impossible not to fall in love with her, and if she still had her clothes from G1 she would be to die for
I LOVE YOUR VERSION OML SHE'S SO CUTE~🖤💖! Also I agree with the "colofulness" I think the reason I slightly dislike the Gen 3 dolls is because they're not "edgy" or "gothic" enough (basically not enough black), which probably explains why Gen 3 Lagoona looks like a cotton candy mermaid 😅
Im loving the new body shapes that they have given their dolls along with the chest swivel!! If I had these new dolls as a kid I'd loose my mind. The designs are nice in my opinion, I think that they fit pretty well even though they arent perfect of course. You did an amazing job on this doll I'm so excited to see all the cool custom dolls people are gonna make using these dolls!!
^^ I’m SO glad you’re doing the Monster High repaints! I hope you plan on doing more, ESPECIALLY Lagoona! She looks okay, but I’m not happy with her new “skin tone” color. If she was a light blue-green or light blue-grey, then I’d be happy! But Lagoona’s design just looks like a “monster” version of Rainbow Dash from MLP. Speaking of redesign, I saw Frankie more of the leader/science genius of the franchise, like Twilight Sparkle! Seeing Clawdeen Wolf as the “nerd” of the group… nah. I saw Clawdeen as the fashion designer/sporty girl of the group. Also, for shoes, I think there’s a TH-camr that makes custom doll shoes and stuff, I think it’s Color Walker… but she does make custom doll shoes if you’re up for a challenge!

Also, I think with what's going on with the dolls via Haunt Corture and such, I think it's for the anniversary of the franchise. But that's just me. BUT there are the Monster High Skelector Dolls, based on the movies with horror themes. Or in the case of Beetlejuice, slightly "Horror" themed.

We, and I, only know that Frankie's still into science still, but is now into robotics and prosthetic limbs. And when I said "Nerd", I wasn't saying it in a condescending manner, I was saying it like "I'm confused, did her role and hobbies changed?". Honestly, that's kinda what happened in the Equestria Girls series. In fact, I remembered the HuMane 6 having jobs in that series that's mostly different from the jobs the pony versions had. AppleJack working at a smoothie place, Rainbow Dash at a sports store, Pinkie Pie at a diner, Fluttershy at a pet shelter/rescue.... Also, seeing Clawdeen wearing glasses kinda threw some of us off!
@@CooperGal24 Clawdeen is confirmed to be a casketball player in the Ghouls Spirit line. What we don't know is if she's a fashion designer. (I hope they keep that aspect of her.) From what I've seen so far of her character she hasn't changed that much in personality. But for some reason people see glasses and say she has. I get that it's off putting. But it's not that bad.

I love the body type differences but for my personal “play” type, I love dressing everyone up and sharing everyone’s clothing. I think that’s the one downside to having different body types. BUT! Most of these different body types fit my HCS for the og girls. Especially drac. She fits my HC perfectly

New lurker on this sub. First time commenting. I love art in all forms and was a 90s goth. I was too old to really get into Monster High and I have 2 boys who love horror but not dolls. First of all your work is inspiring. I love it. The reason they may be producing certain dolls in certain styles comes down to who own the molds. What factories. Where they are located and price of plastic available for molding. If older molds have gotten damaged or retrofit for different dolls. Plastic molding has been around a long time. The actual molds get worn and knicked sometimes in use or in storage. Making a brand new mold between engineering and molding a good product can take over a year. Not counting the giant mold itself cut out of aluminum or steel. Can start anywhere between 100 thousand and 3 hundred thousand. I worked with plastic molding for years and the molds get used and abused. That's why dependent on how well it holds up dictates how many good pieces they have .
Although I'm usually in love with Draculaura having a violet colour in her eyes cause it breaks up the pink.........the pink eyes actually look pretty good❤️❤️❤️ Great start to spooky season❤️❤️❤️

Im really sad about lagoona yes she’s a stunning doll but i just didnt recognise her as how i used to know her. She’s more colorful that blue like she used to be now to me she looks more like some background character at first glance as i looked over her i thought it was gigi and later i was like wait a damn minute its lagoona
I think because of the color usage and the new looks are surprisingly why I for one FINALLY want a Monster High doll. I never really cared for the face molds of the G1 & G2 dolls. But I LOVE this redesign of Draculaura!!!
my take on g3 is that although i liked the original dark aesthetics better and feel the brighter colors take away some of the distinct edginess of monster high, i am beyond thrilled by the diversity in this line. i was blown away seeing frankie as nonbinary and disabled, as i am also both of those things!! one of my only complaints abt the original monster high was the lack of body diversity and other kinds of explicit representation, which we now have so much more of. my fav overall is definitely draculaura, her design is lovely and i feel like her personality sorta stayed closest to the original? her body sculpting makes me jump up and down practically every time i see it because its so pretty and well done and we've been waiting for something like this for so long. they're definitely going in a more down to earth actual highschool vibe, and even though as a highschooler myself i can say it's a lot more realistic, i can totally understand why one could be disappointed with the lack of that signature heightened sense of glamor and drama. tldr absolutely in love with the representation but i completely get any grievances with the new aesthetic

More options for body types other than just the big sister little sister body types. Also they’re more articulated. They actually look like BJD’s.

@@yumyuh6065 it doesn't really have to make sense!! it's fiction, and it doesn't really matter :D all bodies are different. my food intake is not unhealthy, but i'm not exactly skinny. i was always this way, even as a child. it's nice to see dolls that aren't stereotypically on the thinner side because it shows that everyone can be different yet beautiful!! if you think about it, the whole show doesn't make any sense at all because none of the characters should exist logically. it's made up, and that's the beauty in it!!
I do appreciate it but even in her “curvier” state she still has a fairly small waist and honestly only her thighs seem noticeably bigger idk I kinda wish they would’ve committed a bit more to having her be curvy

Draculaura and gothic lolita is like, literally perfect, and I wish they leaned into that more in the original series.
It's also a fact that she went to Shibooya as an exchange student, and I love the idea that she brought back some harajuku fashion from Japan. I absolutely love your take on her, it's how I always imagined her

while i don’t love most of the g3 monster high designs, i’m super glad they’ve made a comeback and doll customizers have even more choices to customize! plus i love her body type, it’s pretty unique compared to most dolls and suits her well.

I'd like to see that too! Im still not entirely into how they redid Cleo (she's royalty, she was meant for more golds in her look). The shades of blue they use are okay, but they could stand to be toned down somewhat.

I love the new molds for monster high, but I LOVED the dark and gothic style as a kid. I really like how they changed the body to something more realistic! And the art on the box was so cute tho! 😮

She’s curvy but still incredibly unrealistic. She has thick thighs but bigger hips and a thigh gap. And her waist is still pretty small. She just caters to the new body standard of being slim thicc.
The representation of different body types in these new dolls are amazing!

Frankie is absolutely my favorite of G3- it’s amazing to see a nonbinary doll be included and really reinforces Monster High’s message of self-love and celebrating who you are. Plus Frankie was my first Monster High doll ever, so of course I have to get another Frankie to bring things full circle.

You captured the OG monster high and the EGL look perfect. Honestly, if that dress was made by Metamorphose, (lets be honest, AP wouldn't touch it with a ten foot pole) I'd buy it in a heartbeat. I love, love, love this!
I also have mixed emotions when it comes to the G3 dolls. While I think they're cute, I definitely miss the G1 style. I'm just glad Mattel still hasn't forgotten the G1 fans and are making creeproductions and G1 style dolls, like the Reel Drama line. Also, do Frankie next. They're personally my favorite of the G3 dolls, and the first one of the G3 dolls I bought.

I am absolutely OBSESSED with Draculaura's faceup! The makeup is on point, and i really do agree that the slight undershadow/bag look works so well for her character design! The outfit is beautiful as well, though the whole fit reminds me of Celestia Ludenberg from Dangonranpa. Would you consider repainting the whole main group? I'm so intrigued as to what g3 Clawdeen or even Lagoona sans Blue would look like lol

I hate G3 bc it’s just so far from what made the OG monster high great, so seeing this custom doll was a delight because it’s true to the gothic routes and it’s just absolutely amazing, you never disappoint!!!!
Your design is just, yes. I prefer the old styles, for sure, but I do appreciate that the ghouls have more varied body shapes than before….and articulated bodies again, so glad those are back!
I have actually never really been that attached to monster high cuz I haven't seen a lot, I have probably seen a episode or two when I was younger but not a lot. Monster high isn't really that popular in my country but I love the aesthetic and if I'm being honest I love your version so much more then the original! It's more like the aesthetic I love about monster high and if this would be an actual doll then I'd buy it, Keep up the amazing work! 🧡
Ahh I wish I had the spare funds and space to collect some of the current fashion dolls. I love the chunky, pear-shaped faux-BJD body type companies are going for these days, like Rainbow High and the goth equivalent and now these. This is a great repaint too!

Oh my GHOUL!!!! The eyes you gave her are soooo mesmerizing! I was always a huge draculaura fan, and I grew a huge love for her G3 doll as well. But the only thing I really didn't like was her g3 outfit. You did her so much justice it's practically criminal! If you ever start selling some customized g3 dolls, then i would be more than happy to throw my rent at you to support a business and buy some.
Draculaura looks insanely cute in your gothic lolita rendition, I love this type of fashion! I do wish they stuck with the darker themes for the dolls, it was definitely a large part of their appeal, for me anyway 🥲
Off topic, can I just say that remembering the shyish boy who created a Starbucks logo doll with a whole load of hot glue to what you have created and have grown to become has been lovely to watch, your repaints have become amazing (more fabulous than before lol) and you seem much more yourself! Im loving the new body shapes that they have given their dolls along with the chest swivel!! If I had these new dolls as a kid I'd loose my mind. The designs are nice in my opinion, I think that they fit pretty well even though they arent perfect of course. Speaking of redesign, I saw Frankie more of the leader/science genius of the franchise, like Twilight Sparkle!
Seeing Clawdeen Wolf as the “nerd” of the group… nah.
I saw Clawdeen as the fashion designer/sporty girl of the group.
Also, for shoes, I think there’s a TH-camr that makes custom doll shoes and stuff, I think it’s Color Walker… but she does make custom doll shoes if you’re up for a challenge!

Honestly, that's kinda what happened in the Equestria Girls series. In fact, I remembered the HuMane 6 having jobs in that series that's mostly different from the jobs the pony versions had.

I didn’t get into monster high that much as a kid but I’ve always admired Cleo and but I had Draculoura. I see why some people are upset about how the new dolls look, but I like them, they’re cute. I just don’t like new Goulia, Clawdeen, and Lagoona. But I like the rest of them, I just wish Cleo was cuter lol.
this is SUCH a cute look! i dress in lolita fashion on occasion and you NAILED this! as for the various MH lines i believe its all Mattel, it just seems like they're confused or dont truly want to commit fully to g3 yet.
I love the body type differences but for my personal “play” type, I love dressing everyone up and sharing everyone’s clothing. I think that’s the one downside to having different body types. BUT! Most of these different body types fit my HCS for the og girls. Especially drac. She fits my HC perfectly

New lurker on this sub. First time commenting. I love art in all forms and was a 90s goth. I was too old to really get into Monster High and I have 2 boys who love horror but not dolls. First of all your work is inspiring. I love it. The reason they may be producing certain dolls in certain styles comes down to who own the molds. What factories. Where they are located and price of plastic available for molding. If older molds have gotten damaged or retrofit for different dolls. Plastic molding has been around a long time. The actual molds get worn and knicked sometimes in use or in storage. Making a brand new mold between engineering and molding a good product can take over a year. Not counting the giant mold itself cut out of aluminum or steel. Can start anywhere between 100 thousand and 3 hundred thousand. I worked with plastic molding for years and the molds get used and abused. That's why dependent on how well it holds up dictates how many good pieces they have

Im really sad about lagoona yes she’s a stunning doll but i just didnt recognise her as how i used to know her. She’s more colorful that blue like she used to be now to me she looks more like some background character at first glance as i looked over her i thought it was gigi and later i was like wait a damn minute its lagoona

my take on g3 is that although i liked the original dark aesthetics better and feel the brighter colors take away some of the distinct edginess of monster high, i am beyond thrilled by the diversity in this line. i was blown away seeing frankie as nonbinary and disabled, as i am also both of those things!! one of my only complaints abt the original monster high was the lack of body diversity and other kinds of explicit representation, which we now have so much more of. my fav overall is definitely draculaura, her design is lovely and i feel like her personality sorta stayed closest to the original? her body sculpting makes me jump up and down practically every time i see it because its so pretty and well done and we've been waiting for something like this for so long.
they're definitely going in a more down to earth actual highschool vibe, and even though as a highschooler myself i can say it's a lot more realistic, i can totally understand why one could be disappointed with the lack of that signature heightened sense of glamor and drama.
tldr absolutely in love with the representation but i completely get any grievances with the new aesthetic
