    Nice you make it look easy. Just a few questions, you just need the whole engine harness for the swap? Or you need the ecu too from the donor truck? Is the engine fuse relay box the same for both engines v6 and v8?
    I got a 99 2D Silverado short bed, stock was an v8 and 4.8 and last owner swapped an v6 4.3L. And I want to swap it again to a v8

    • @choppedinc.
      @choppedinc.  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Best way is find a v8 that's the same year. Need the engine harness and the computer and the frame mounts the engine mounts bolt to. V8 computer will need to get tuned to take the security of then its pretty much bolt in. Even the v6 exhaust is the same. Harness will just plug in to the factory fuse box if it's the same year.

  • @jesseesquivel6248
    @jesseesquivel6248 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    Cool thx bro will I have to get it tuned still

    • @choppedinc.
      @choppedinc.  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Just with the v6 to v8 you will need the vats deleted at least. The vehicle anti theft will prevent it from starting.

    Hello man good video I’m doing a LS swap from. a 2001 to a 2000 Chevy Silverado 1500 am taking the wire harness from donor truck 2001 so I need to take computer also

    • @choppedinc.
      @choppedinc.  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It's easier if you do. That way the pin outs will be correct for the harness

    • @choppedinc.

      I believe it should. I don't think they changed the harness till 2003. But would have to double check the plug ends

    I’m in the process of doing this. I have 2004 4.3 5 speed 4x4 truck. I’m using the motor out of a 03 Tahoe. Will the fuse box be the same? Or do I need to check it since I’m going from drive by cable to drive by wire? Also will I have to change fuel pump and are the fuel lines the same? Thanks in advance

    • @choppedinc.
      @choppedinc.  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      If there both drive by wire or cable generally there the same and should just bolt in. If your charging to wire you will need the pedal and the module. Fuel lines you can takfrom the Tahoe or you can buy the quick connect fitting on ebay or run a rudder line with a couple of hose clamps.

    • @choppedinc.
      @choppedinc.  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Fuel pump and exhaust will be fine. V6 and v8 exhaust are the same flange

    Hey man, I’m trying to get a 06 5.3 running, it was a v6. I’m running a 99-02 harness on it to keep it dbc but everytime we give it power the starter goes nuts. Any ideas on what could be wrong

      @@user-cl5gl2qo9nwhat harness did you use with having a manual transmission? Did you use a 4.8/6.0 manual harness? I know they didn't make a 5.3 with a manual from factory

    • @user-cl5gl2qo9n
      @user-cl5gl2qo9n 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@nickblack562 I used a harness that had a 4l60 transmission I just looped the wires to the neutral safety harness to make the starter work and for the transmission if you use a manual transmission you want to tune it to non electric automatic transmission because when you set it to manul transmission it makes it not rev over 1500 rpm for some reason

    • @TheUnknownGoat1
      @TheUnknownGoat1 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes. All you're really doing is swapping ls for ls in these nbs Chevys. However, I would recommend getting your 4.8 computer tuned before starting because it doesn't recognize 5.3/6.0/etc.

    • @choppedinc.
      @choppedinc.  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Wassup bro I have a 2001 single cab Silverado like urs manual windows power locks v6 , I want to do v8 conversion could you tell me all I’ll need for the conversion I’ve been asking local shops but there lagging it

    • @choppedinc.
      @choppedinc.  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Best way to do it is find a engine from the same year truck and get the complete wiring harness. It will then plug in to your existing wire no cutting. If it's a automatic you can use the v6 transmission. You will need to get the v8 computer tune. Remove all the vats, vehicles anti theft stuff and any other tuning you need. The v6 exhaust will also work. It's a very straight forward swap. Make sure you get the v8 with the engine mounts and the bits that bolt to the frame. There is 2 long bolts that run through the bit in the frame. And there is a difference between the 2wd and 4wd ones, so make sure you get the ones for your application.
