There's an area near my house which used to be a slum.Government came in and built pakka house with all the amenities for them and registered the house in their respective names under a government scheme.within 5 years except 2 families all of them either sold those houses or rented them and moved to another slums.Those houses went sold for 60Lacs.Many people use these schemes as a way to earn money.While the middle class families like mine get zero help from the government while paying heavy taxes to the government.

my office boy lives in slum in south east Delhi, government is giving them flat for 3 lakhs rs but his family wants to stay in slum. flat size is very small. in flat they have to pay proper bills etc. sense of taking away their land. etc.

The main issue, however, is the lack of civic sense. Many people from North India, unfortunately, are not even aware of basic civic responsibility. If we focused on teaching our children fundamental civic values, things could improve. The government should prioritize education in morality, civics, and manners, but instead, they are often preoccupied with religious and political divisions. In the Northeast, parents are generally strict and instill these values in their children. While not all parents are the same, the majority emphasize these qualities, which is why our region tends to be cleaner and safer for women compared to other parts of India. However, I have noticed that with the influx of people from places like Bihar and Bangladesh, the situation in our states is deteriorating. This has contributed to many of the challenges we face today.....salam

Is this unbiased journalism? I think the journalist has been very emotional to narrate this video. The harsh reality is the government provided flats, these people rent them out or sell out and come back to these slums because water, electricity is free. No house tax or liabilities. I have seen first hand near Akshardham. I have lived there all my life and saw jhuggis removed and people rehabilitated. After a few years they came back and now bigger and stronger jhuggis. I really suggest the journalist do better research.

my office boy lives in slum in south east Delhi, government is giving them flat for 3 lakhs rs but his family wants to stay in slum. flat size is very small. in flat they have to pay proper bills etc. sense of taking away their land. etc.

If we focused on teaching our children fundamental civic values, things could improve. The government should prioritize education in morality, civics, and manners, but instead, they are often preoccupied with religious and political divisions.
In the Northeast, parents are generally strict and instill these values in their children. While not all parents are the same, the majority emphasize these qualities, which is why our region tends to be cleaner and safer for women compared to other parts of India.

The harsh reality is the government provided flats, these people rent them out or sell out and come back to these slums because water, electricity is free. No house tax or liabilities. I have seen first hand near Akshardham. I have lived there all my life and saw jhuggis removed and people rehabilitated. After a few years they came back and now bigger and stronger jhuggis.
I really suggest the journalist do better research.
