my dad never actually formally proposed to my mom. One day, he was sitting on the couch or chair or something while my mom was doing something in the kitchen when he casually says to her “well, I guess we oughtta get married, huh?” and my mom said “well, I guess so” and that was it. They got married on November 12th 1978 and were married until my father passed away in March of 2012.

My wifes family dog died on her sisters wedding day. They were married for less than a year. Her brother told my wife that she shouldn't marry me because he knows me and I am a bad seed. I keep reminding this to him every time I see him...after 36 years of marriage and 3 kids-to his sister-haha. His mom married 4 times and the sister 3 times.

@@OneWomanMan888 Alanis Morissette made a song called "Ironic". Both the "rain on your wedding day" and the guy who won the lottery and died the next day are lines from that song. It's a good song (and yes, the word "ironic" isn't exactly correct, but hey, artistic license!)... you should give it a listen if you haven't heard it!

A friend of mine told me that we he got married, the Pastor said "Do you take this woman, blah, blah... Blah, blah, blah..." and he said "I do" and he looked at his Bride and his first thought was "YOU WHAT!?" I laughed and told him "Now you know why I will never get married again.
