- In 1990 this line into London was the domain of the Class 50's until the Network Turbos took over in 1992. We ride aboard 50023 to the Southern's Channel Tunnel termination in July 1990

another brilliant cab ride. guys what i particular like is when you see the changes by this time. so for example..surbiton we see
the what was then brand new..those offices now built by the station..earlier cab rides we see that iconic Winthrop house building. i mean there’s so much and it’s a route i’m so familiar with as well. also we had so any famous people still with us then, who sadly we have lost now. i love love this video. massive thumbs up to you bro. i would love to see the same but from the 70s.
Churchill Way footbridge was our favourite spotting spot in the 80s. Lots seen there.
Be careful Alan, the guy the who videoed this is on TH-cam, The outward run was the 11.00 Waterloo - Exeter as far as Salisbury arriving at 12.37 with 50033 Glorious the full video is still on sale on DVD along with the Salisbury - Exeter section in 1987 with 50040.
That's not Walton-on-Thames at 6:10, it's West Byfleet. Interesting to see the changes between then and now.
Brilliant! I've been looking for old cab rides into/out of Waterloo. Do you know if the full versions are still available anywhere?

@@alanspencer7668 Thanks. After a bit of digging, I discovered there was a series of VHS tapes called "Cab Views" from 80s, that someone listed as being made by "Wingfield". I've since found a few are on eBay, but none that I'm interested in. I'm going to keep my eye on there, but having them on TH-cam would be great too.
I enjoyed watching the video, but for me it's not the same without an occasional West Country or Merchant Navy!
