My friend recently downloaded bloodborne and is playing it for the first time. Meanwhile, I with something like 7 play throughs am doing a max arcane build for the first time, after wanting to do it for the past 3 years or so. As of last night i have 98 arcane and I really like it, the hunter tools have never felt so damn powerful before. I alos have never leveled past 120, so I'm looking forward to breaking past the "meta" and doing what I want, which is the arcane co-op build you've displayed in these videos.
At max stats with perfect gems, the holy blade still slaps harder than damn near anything else. Not the highest dps, but that doesn't matter when everything besides bosses dies in 4 hits max.
It’s the perfect versatile weapon. With max nourishing gems it hits super hard in both forms. You can use it like a normal melee weapon super well and then the charged r2’s hit like a truck. My favorite and most powerful build is a Moonlight sword build
people have to remember, it's not necessary to go balls to the wall with arcane to be effective, you can make some tweaks to the 99 build for use whatever weapon you want
badass game imo. Just started a full arcane build in my second playthrough. Damn hunter tools is so nice to use with 52 arcane. I can't decide if i should level up strength for the moonlight sword. I don't have the dlc but i plan on buying it.

Currently playing a fresh run where i cheesed out that 99 arcane. The HMS isn't that whorth for these reasons: - It's an actual weapon, and a hybrd damage one. - you need to charge a R2 for full damage - Fire gems you get from the first chalice kinda does more damage - *Executioner's Gloves Exist* -

Hell yea, bloodborne was the first From Software game I got a handle on.... I'm proud to say I've beaten the game +/DLC On my own. Then I went back to DS1 and, well I beat it as well +DLC o. My own.... now I'm working on DS2, DS3 and Sakiro...... cant get enough..
what i mainly got from this was. it uses a lot of stamina. not sure if i missed it but you didnt go over the thrust attack just the ranged one. the thrust attack is where the main damage is since it combines both arcane and physical.

on the chart im assuming executioners gloves are calculated if ALL 3 spirits hit their target? the one anoyying thing about a great tracking toll imo im surprised the accursed brew is so much less comparatively at 99 arc it does ~1000 dmg on direct hit to great ones like ebrietas (headshot) it became my go to for so long lol interesting video tho never thought of going full arc with hms but i enjoy both movesets lol
I just finished my NG+7, 99 Insight run... and for some stupid reason, instead of building the main stats to 99, my stupid ass went for all stats 50. I had damage, but shooting moonlight slashes and doing 1,000 damage from a far looks fun as hell.
Sadly the L1 buffed Boomhammer deals about the same damage as a Fire Hunter Axe on an average foe, and you don't need to buff Axe before attacking, so...
I use HMS with only one-handed use. It’s the strongest weapon coming after the saw cleaver it damages over 1050. It has a one weakness that it’s rally is too bad. This is my opinion about that great sword.

1 Cold 2 Arcane; if you don't have access to online or don't want edited glyphs, 2 Cold 1 Arcane is fine; I'm not popular, the reason why I didn't always reply is simply because I was too sensitive to negative comments, so for a while I even avoid reading them; now I'm much better, because I know positivity is still the majority, Stoicism also helped me a lot
Depends on the target enemy, using beasthood or not, what form, and what move For a "convenient answer", "in general" for such a stat, Physical Ludwig's Holy Blade is better for damage per hit, Holy Moonlight Sword is better for DPS (when you spam default R2 attack)
I mean you can use it but you have to go for a 150 Co op build You can't do it with a 120 pvp build unless you go for less than 30 vit and that's a HUGE no no when other pvp builds can dish out twice your hp in 3 attacks
Gemming it is possibly the easiest of conversions. Its innate arcane scaling is good enough that you can make do with 1 cold abyssal while everything else requires 2.
As someone who made the 99 arcane build looking forward to use the moonlight, I was kinda disappointed with the damage it did. The hunter tools were very OP, but the hunter weapons experience was kinda disappointing compared to my previous strength build using the saw cleaver

Name one monster that you can not kill/hard to kill without bolt. A lot of people say "bolt for kin", but if you chech the wiki, kin are mostly weak to fire as well. This is a good example of opinions does not equal to truths. I only consider to equip bolt weapons when I fight Laurence, Watchdog or Undead Giants. Unless they are common enemies, otherwise you are fine without constantly equip bolt weapons.
Or just level up endurance and make vigor your dump stat instead. :) Sure you'll die if someone breathes on you, but you get more attacks and dodge recovery.
Yep so this illustrates very well how the HMLS is a fantastic low level quality weapon: you get so many ch damage at 25 across the board with abyssal nourishing that it is barely worth leveling further imo My sl100 is doing 600 damage to frc amygdala per bran hit in a normal R2...why bother going that high in arcane when tools and cold abyssal conversion is so vastly superior? But at 25 arcane this weapon gives so much ranged arcane damage that it makes an insane advantage for builds focused on other stats... player do not understand how to use it. They all think wrongly that you need super high arcane when in fact past 50 you barely see any improvement
Yea but fully maximizing it for ranged is trash in PVP unless the person your up against uses the same build. also fighting multiple enemies at the same time with this build is completely void which you forgot to mention.

Nourishing gems give ATK% UP Non-radial nourishing gems naturally go up to 21.5% ATK UP with a secondary effect and a curse (from Amygdala in cursed depth 5 chalices). Radials go up to 19.5% I think (from Rom cursed depth 5 Ihyll chalices). 'Off shapes' are possible, but very rare. (I think the watchers had very rare nourishings too, which would be higher %, but without secondary effects.)

My man gave us f***ing graphs to show the scaling with gems/attributes. Instant sub; faster than NG+6 Logarius scytheskullblast.
I'm running a nourishing Lost HMLS, not as good lightwave damage but Gloves make up for that.

Yep so this illustrates very well how the HMLS is a fantastic low level quality weapon: you get so many ch damage at 25 across the board with abyssal nourishing that it is barely worth leveling further imo
My sl100 is doing 600 damage to frc amygdala per bran hit in a normal R2...why bother going that high in arcane when tools and cold abyssal conversion is so vastly superior? But at 25 arcane this weapon gives so much ranged arcane damage that it makes an insane advantage for builds focused on other stats... player do not understand how to use it. They all think wrongly that you need super high arcane when in fact past 50 you barely see any improvement

It does not stop, but it does become insignificant on weapons. People go fo 99 Arcane for the arcane tools.

Yea but fully maximizing it for ranged is trash in PVP unless the person your up against uses the same build. also fighting multiple enemies at the same time with this build is completely void which you forgot to mention.

I have the same stats as you, 20 str 99 arcane, and I get better damage from the charged r2 with a 9.8% arc + 67.5 flat arc gem, FWIW

For a complete hit, Nourishing is the best; for lightwave only, 2 Cold + 1 Watcher Arcane is the best
Flat Arcane gems are not good in this case. A explanation I can think of is that there's something wrong about the choice of other two gems, then yes, in that case flat Arcane gems could be better than 27.2%, but that's simply because the other two gems are bad choices that should have been replaced; or maybe it's the problem of testing, like doing an open hit when testing flat gems without noticing

All I was trying to say is what works better for me, consistently across 1200 hours of testing. Not a single instance of one enemy type on an open hit or anything. I doubt it’s a big enough difference to argue about either way tho tbh
@@AMetalWorld I see your frustration, but it's simply mathematically impossible for Flat Arcane to be better in this case, the sheet already shows that, no matter what combination it's just not better, but worse. And if anyone should be frustrated, that would be me!

Usually the documents consist of a combination of the following
1) How the damage is calculated
2) A simulation of all gemsets that are relevant to the topic
3) test videos of the key setups
Over the years, through these experience, I've verified all gem effects & understand how they work; I went so far to verifying the multiplier data on wiki so that I can calculate DPS precisely
But... it doesn't matter. I never release the calculator for several reasons, one of them being it is "useless", in a sense that: when there're only a few gemsets involved, it's useless because I will end up making test videos for each one of them, so having calculation or not doesn't matter; when there's 207 gemsets involved, there's no way for me to do all the testing, especially when the people who spread that myth should be the one who shows a test video to prove ones point (which is not only fair, but also time saving because that only takes 1 video instead of 207), and so in the end, without 207 videoes, myth spreaders don't buy it, their response is always
"But that's just math, you didn't prove anything"
"I've played ___ hours"
When these words come out from people who have no math nor videos to prove their points, I ironically cannot do anything, and for some reason some people find those "arguments" more convincing than math; since there's no way to force them to prove it, the myth keep spreading like wildfire
You are free to believe in a myth, but spreading it is a different thing; I don't ask everyone to have either math or video to prove a point, but I do hope that myth don't spread so easily
If you do have a gemset that somehow outperforms the others, it only takes a few minutes to prove it; if you don't but you claim it to be true anyway, the myth will last until the day human go extinct

To reiterate, all I was doing was sharing my experience through testing and practice. I certainly don’t have formulas and receipts, and I myself have used your sheets before and watched a number of your videos. They’ve all been consistent, except this one. As for the actual math, I’d say there’s certainly something to be said for the disparity between theory and practice, but I couldn’t say what. And the difference is marginal anyway, I’m sure. All I know is that gem did higher numbers for me in every scenario lol

Dispite the video being quite simple and non-threatening something about it seems, perverse.
So what does nourishing mean?
Nourishing gems give ATK% UP
Non-radial nourishing gems naturally go up to 21.5% ATK UP with a secondary effect and a curse (from Amygdala in cursed depth 5 chalices).
Radials go up to 19.5% I think (from Rom cursed depth 5 Ihyll chalices).
'Off shapes' are possible, but very rare.
(I think the watchers had very rare nourishings too, which would be higher %, but without secondary effects.)
