This is with reference to your mail in NSE, vide reference no NSECRO/0006736/23-24 / I, dated 17/07/2023.
With regards to the concern raised by you we have verified the details at our end and would like to inform you that on 11/07/2023 you had short had sold 46 qty of MAZAGON DOCK SHIPBUILDERS LIMITED under Intraday . As per the Intraday product policy at 3.18 pm the system had placed the buy order for 46 qty MKT and the same was routed to Exchange for execution. However, the above scrip was in upper circuit (there was no sellers available) hence the order was not executed and was canceled at the end of the trading session
When the stock is in circuit we would be unable to cover the position from our neither you can cover the same from your end.
Since at the end of trading session, there was open sell position of 46 qty, as per the settlement cycle (T+1) you were obliged to make the pay in of these shares. However, as the shares were not available in your account to fulfill the pay in obligation the same were auctioned on 12/07/2023 at Rs 1853.35/- per share and auction bill amounted to Rs. 85254.10/- as per the auction policy.
The said amount was derived as per our internal auction close out policy i.e. higher of highest price of scrip from T day to T+1 day or closing price on T+1 day + 3% in case of F&O traded scrip or 7 % in case of other scrips.
Here, the highest price till T+1 was 1751 and 7% penalty on 12/07/2023 closing price comes to 1853.35 (1731.85 * 7%). So highest from these both is 1853.35, so buy auction settled in 1853.35.
