I'm a huge ABs fan, but since the 2021 WRC, I'm an even bigger Black Ferns, with Rikki's awesome commentary adding enormously to the viewing experience. Hope she's settling in for a life long career calling rugby games, including the ABs one day.

Rikki’s work on the 15’s RWC just gone was iconic, especially the final. She’s the best rugby commentator in the world right now. Definitely up there with the late, great Eddie Butler.

The nation is referred to as Australia or Oz and never, ever Aussie.
You make your living as a commentator, so it's important to get the vernacular correct. It is like fingernails across a blackboard for an Aussie listener.
finally a face to the voice
I’m trying to watch the ‘Olympics Rugby 7s’ Live, but all I can hear is the “Rikki Swannell Commentary Show”.
The Paris Olympics, the pinnacle of Sporting Greatness on Earth. The Stade de France Olympic Crowd Rocking loud and amped. A World Atmosphere ! But all we can hear is Swannells urge to talk fast over the game every second without pause, like a manic NZ horse race commentary. But its not a horserace. Its not even radio. Its Live TV. We can plainly SEE it LIVE. In fact our TV view is better than Swannells. We can see the ball has been passed, we don’t need to be told every second by a school teacher. Several times we can plainly see what she says is wrong. And then we have to hear her correction as well !! Her comments don’t Add to the game, they Detract from the game.
When the game gets intense and a try is cored Swannell actually starts shouting over the Crowd, drowning out the whole Live Olympic Crowd intensity and experience. Rikki the Olympics isn’t about you. Your just distracting millions of viewers from experiencing the game LIVE. The truth is that less is more. Less blabbermouth = more focused viewer Live experience.
She even talks over the ref speaking to the players about the why the penalty. We can’t hear the ref speak. We’re forced to watch the game behind the shoulders of Rikki Swannell watching the game. sic!
If Swannell was in the seats in front of you shouting commentary every second, she would be told "Hey! can you Shut Up, we’re trying to watch the game”. She’s doing exactly he same to us. I’m serious. I’ve paid to experience the Olympics Rugby 7s but I cant because of Swannel. I’d pay $20 extra just to have no commentary. Just play the game with no commentary on another channels LIVE. Easy done. I’m sure her famliy and friends what to hear her, good on them. Have there own channel but don’t inflict it on the rest of us.
I know Sky TV has already acknowledged my view. Its Time to Act.
Look at Wimbledon Coverage. When the ball is Live in play they shut up. They only talk between plays. Ball in play minutes at RWC 23 was 38 minutes. Leaving 42 minutes plus for Swannell and Grant Nisbett to tell us nothing of importance.
Look at the Fifa World Cup. They had little commentary and allowed us to become apart of the Whole Live experience. We become Apart of the Game. We were ‘Being There’. In French its ‘Voilà’. In German its “Dasein’. On Rikkis’s Olympic Show its “yak, yak, yak…”.
NB On FIFA WC highlights there’s no commentary and ‘Voilà’, It’s a Rikki Free Zone and you become apart of the Live game.
[NB many Men commentators are the same. Don’t try the sexism excuse. I’ve said the same about Grant Nisbett. Repeat.]

personally rather her a male commentator comentating male sports than her, but shed be great for womens sports.
