    It is so nice to see the 4960, which burned to the ground, rebuilt, and running a baler again. Favorite tractor. Love it Wes!

    That Heston looks like it’s working pretty damn good. The old 4960 is snorting good so its happy haha. It’s good to see it back doing its old job too. Tim’s doing a fine job running that baler. Once he gets over a few fields, he’ll be running it like a pro. Nice job fellas.

    Great vid and it's a cracking looking outfit for Tim to learn the baling profession on. I love seeing older machinery doing what they were made for and that pickup design looks like it's taking the swath in with plenty to spare, big thumbs up from me 👍

    YAY TIM! What a sight to see there Wes. After having seen Tim grown up and watch him run this pair of machines is quite a feeling even for us. I'm sure you have a small amount of pride watching Tim get along with them as well.

    Just gotta remember Tim doesn't have that experience you have with the big baler. He's learning, he's doing a good job. With anything that's used, and with all the work you've put in this baler, you still got some tweaking to do here an there. It'll work out in the end Wes. I could be wrong but, looks like the windrows could be a bit bigger than what they are but, if this has been down for 16 days like you said, explains why he'll have to go faster to shove that hay through. Great video, love the 4960 working, cheers :)

  • @super6954
    @super6954 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    It's good to see it in the field working, if you filmed that with a 90's VHS camera you wouldn't know it wasn't a classic field scene from the day. once tim gets used to that machine he'll fly pretty quick. When I'm baling straw I don't pay any attention to gears or revs. I drive the machine to crop flow and the noise the baler makes feeding it.
    I've been on 36 ft fairly heavy wheat swaths doing on average 11-12 km an hour on good flat fields. The guys land I'm baling is surprised how many I get out in 6- 8 hours baling at night when the heats dropped, with my string tie 688 Holland. for me net wrapping would increase production even more being stopped less , but it would be a bitch when it freezes to the bales in the winter with how I use them .

    Hi Wes
    The Baler is A"MAKING HAY" from your recent post re the Mustang V12 sound it can sure make the hair on the back of your neck stand up.
    I have had the privilege of witnessing and hearing the V12 roar from RR Merlin, RR Griffin, DB605, Allison 1710 all flying in Spitfire MK.1X, Spitfire MK.XIV, Spitfire MK.XVI, Hurricane MK.2, Mustang MK.D, Kittyhawk P40, ME 109G, all at Warbirds over Wanaka over the years.
    Goodluck with your Hay season.
    Regards from NZ

    Making some huge bales there right Tim? Easing into it like he should give him a couple of Weeks and you might see an attitude change as he feels like he’s contributing more in the process. Always the challenge with kids the think Dad gets all the glory and they do all the blank blank work! It’s all part of the process, just the same odds are he will feel like he’s more of an equal to the old man now. Great video Wes, looks like you accomplished what you set out to do. Now we just need to see that loader doing its thing picking those bales!

      the question is when he's done with it can he flip it for what he has in it or more? Does he keep it as a back up long term or does he pick up a side line buying the older Hesston balers, modifying them running a few thousand bales through them and dumping them at break even or a profit?

    AWESOME!!! The new show hits the airwaves..."Bail time with Tim"! Wes I have to admit I was bit skeptical on the extensions whether they would work better or create issues but you have proved to me ur the bailer expert extraordinaire😉 it is also great seeing Tim stepping into more of an active roll in making product and less of a supporting roll Both jobs are extremely and equally as important but having dad give you more responsibility in the family business because he knows you can handle it is always a great feeling. I worked for my dad for 20 years and it always made me feel good inside when dad would gave me more responsibility that said even after 20 years I dad still handed me the broom at the end of the day and said clean up the place ..lol He never let forget where I started from and reminded me every day not to look at any position as better than the next position that was the best lesson he ever taught me. At the height of my dad's career with over 100 employees dad and I cleaned the office every night and warehouse Saturday morning. He never gave anyone a job he wouldn't do himself, and even though I am several years older than you are your style reminds me of my dad. Your dad did right by you and taught you well.

    • @stevelutzke9600
      @stevelutzke9600 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Great feedback, my thoughts are pretty much the same. Years ago I got stuck doing all the prep work if it was scraping and cleaning motor parts or doing some less than fun task. When Dad let you run the show you knew that you had earned his respect and confidence that he could trust you to do the right things. Old school teaching methods the good fathers used to follow.

    Viewers may notice the baler lurching up on the draw bar with the extra weight of heavy wet hay on the bale extension. This is a consequence of the baler being a single axle as well. This is a worry if the draw bar connection is not completely secure.

    CINC on the monitor is constant increase on the baler hydraulic density pressure. That should normally go away. It comes on when you first start with a empty chamber. If it doesn’t go out you have a problem. Looks good!
