I had Squier and Ibanez and decided to keep Ibanez. Ibanez front humbucker has far richer sound than bridge one, it would be good to include in comparison. For my Gio, I managed to set up 1.5 mm action without issues, only nut angle requires very small correction. I will handle that when changing strings. In turn for Squire finishing of my guitar's body was not really of good quality.
tbh, i'm old school, and so i like the strat due to bias and how cool it looks, but the ibanez doesn't seem to bad either, plus the ibanez seems to be only a few more bucks than an HSS strat.
I just got the Ibanez GRX70QASB HSH and in positions 2+4 it splits the Humbuckers to single coil so you can play Bridge single coil plus middle or Neck single coil plus middle.. But like any other guitar Fender , Gibson or what ever it only sounds as good as your amplifier meaning you can take a $10,000 guitar plug it into a $50.00 amp and it's going to sound like a $50.00 guitar

I bought the gio and three days later sent it back the nut on the e and b was cut to deep leaving it unplayable. Shame as I liked the guitar. Not comfortable buying another one

Noob question. Someone by me is selling a GRG170DX, it's HSH, will that be less versatile than SSH on a Squier Affinity?

I like the rounded smooth curves on Strats but wish they had Jumbo frets and the volume knob wouldn’t be so close to the bridge pickup.
2 things the screws hurt on the bullet but the neck width is perfect, the ibenez the neck too wide but sounds heavy metal
The Ibanez just look cleaner to me.
