Really helpful advice to think about geometry rather than scenes. Big brush and preparation of colour pallette. May seem obvious but actually really isn't. Thank you so much

I paint from my photographs in the comfort of my little living room. Painting on location especially in inclement weather makes absolutely no sense to me. What are you trying to prove?
