  • In this video I take a look inside the Bosch Gen 2 motor, which was manufactured from 2014 onwards. It is sold in different configurations as Active Line, or Performance Line motor, but the internals are largely the same.
It's my first video of this type, so any feedback is welcome.

Hello, I recently bought WInora Sinus 9 2021 edition bike with Bosch Performance Line Gen3. I took it to service man and somehow when I returned I found out that bike is giving me less assistance uphills.. Is it possible that to swap performance line gen 3 with gen 2? Are there any visual differences between those two generations.
    Thanks

Perdona, que no me salian las notificaciones. Active Line Plus podria ser Gen2, pero la mejor manera de conocer es por el plato - si es grande es Gen3, o Gen4. Si es pequeno es Gen2.

Hi, really helpful video! Are there any specialist tools required to disassemble to this stage? Thanks in advance!

You need the special lockring tool for the Bosch motor, and be careful as it is reverse threaded - some lockrings are plastic and easily broken if you push them wrong way. For changing the bearings, you can make some makeshift presses out of threaded rods and sockets, but you will need a bearing puller with thin jaws to pull out the main bearing. Also if you are changing the bearings, most of them are with special dimensions and aren't found easily. I will be uploading a more complete motor/bearing overhaul of a bike that came with really noisy bearings, showing the complete process. Cheers.

plastic gears? are you kidding me??? for how much money mid drive ebikes cost this seems like a decision made on purpose to reduce lifespan of the product.

I think it is done for the sound - some bikers are very sensitive to the sound, and it is always mentioned in the reviews. That's why plastic gears are being used (or belts in the case of Brose/Specialized)

It is very unfortunate. Let's hope that the warranty covers it all.
