Had a 1340 [1275GT] at just 18 while working in local Garage [Payed just 500 Quid] Back in late 80s, No Finance 25 Quid a week out of Wages. GOT TO GET ANOTHER FOOK IT. Very Nice Car Buddy Keep em Going [Farcking speed ramps these days] and cameras looking up your arse [if they had a chance] .
Hey man, Its sounds great but how come you are not going much over 3.5k rpm? Fresh engine that has not been bedded? It sounds like it would give an amazing roar at 4/5k. Could you post a video of you giving it the boot on a B road?
@@pauljeffries It would be interesting to see if that conversion has be done on the likes on an Mg Metro Turbo. They were always crying out for an extra gear.
Sounds like a rally car gearbox. Straight cut gears sound fantastic.
Makes me miss my old Mini. That had straight cut gears too, but I used to use all 7800 rpm all the time. :)

I just had straight cuts put in my Cooper S, sounds amazing, my wife not too sure lol😂

Hi, yes, the gearbox would suit any rod change A series set up, jack knight gearboxes aren't available new anymore, I use tran-x gears now.

They are a 4 speed box, not a 5 speed

What carb did you have in this video and are you running standard crank and rods?
Hi, it had a 40 dcoe weber at the time, the crank and rods were A+ turbo items that were balanced.

How much bhp? looks pretty quick.
It's got 89bhp at the moment, the engine will be coming out soon for some upgrades
this is up there with a mazda 787b or spitfire merlin engine tbh
The straight cuts don't seem too noisy, what make are they?
It's a jack knight box and drops, they are actually quite loud, the video doesent do them justice to be fair
Surprised you can still find a jack knight box in good condition.
