:( .. Been awhile since we had a crash. Just goes to show even if you have a plane that flies great, accidents can still happen. Was definitely off my game today. Hope you guys still enjoy, I appreciate you watchin! Check out the FMS A-10 Thunderbolt II Twin 70mm EDF A-10 PNP: bit.ly/3CC7xB7
As long as you learn something from every crash you are doing well. Some people don't learn from their crashes and will always crash or never progress because of the fear of crashing. One thing Is I don't fl my EDFs with all the ordinance on it. Causes so much unnecessary drag which eats up your flight time and makes landing much more unpredictable. It's great for the hanger as eye candy. A-10s need lots of throttle and come in almost high alpha for landings. The best way is to practice with a delta-wing EDF jet like most Migs. You can learn a lot about flying delta-wing EDF jets as they are more forgiving. Thanks for posting the mistakes. We all learn from them. You should get a pet lion. I know that is random but it would be cool, lol.
Appreciate your input as always! You nailed it. Thankful I have these videos to look back on and see my mistakes too. I watched a lot of videos on the A-10 and most reported the difference was negligible with ordinance on or off for this jet. When I did the maiden it felt great too, so I kept them on. But in this case where i dropped full flaps & landing gear at too slow of an air speed im sure it didnt help me what so ever hahaha. Thanks for watching & commenting! Im running out of space for my planes, not sure where ill put the lion haha
Good to hear such enthusiasm. My grandkid flew his A10, did a high speed flyby, took the bombs off wings scraping ground but kept it in the air. 8:128:128:12
Definitely noticed that on a few passes! I take the blame on the crash landing, that was all me and not the planes fault. Appreciate the kind words and you watching/commenting!
Kudos for taking responsibility for the crash. In hindsight, what do you think you did wrong? As a viewer I think i know what you did wrong but I'd rather hear it from the pilot.
Couple of things. Normally when I go in for a landing, I do one fly by to make sure my gear is down and it also puts me in the mindset to focus. I skipped this for really no reason. Second, I dropped my gear and it slowed the plane down more than expected, while I cut power too. In addition to that, I dropped my FULL flaps instead of just take off flaps which I used to land on the maiden. I didn’t keep my airspeed up overall, resulting in a nose dive bringing it in. Finally, I haven’t done a flap elevator mix with my landing flaps. I don’t know how the plane reacts with full flaps down, so that was smooth brain to try and do it without testing it first. Just had an off day and made some critical errors on my approach! The good news is I learned. Appreciate you watching & commenting!
Haha dam! I had the same thing happening to mine. I mixed it a little up to flap mix and that made it so much better. Well, guess its part of the hobby 😅 love the self mocking with dr evil 😂😂
@ as I type this I’m sitting looking at it in all its glory! I’d be lying if I wasn’t a little gun shy after this incident haha. But the next Wisconsin nice day I’d love to get it out again! I want to play around with the CG on that one a little more
@@Mach3RC i know what you mean, damaging a new jet is frustrating 😅 for some reason it always needs to go wrong 1 time and after that it will probably fly flawless 😅 Eventualy because of my shitty runway i swaped to the freewing 2x80mm a10.because of the trailing linked gear and for me it worked out even better eventough the colour scème on this jet is epic
That crash is thrust line related. You added power which without an upward elevator mix cause the nose to pitch down even more and sent your beauty in to the ground. Ask me how I know
Honestly I blame the ground. The approach was def solid, but half frozen grass might as well have been concrete!!! I’ll stick with my eflite a10, I know two brothers mentioned reinforcing the gear wells with balsa/carbon fiber since the FMS a10 is pretty heavy. Either way I know you’ll have her back in no time
I really think this one was all me. I came down too quickly by dumping my landing gear and flaps at a low airspeed. But yes absolutely, I NEED REDEMPTION!!
Yea I had the freewing 80mm and a big issue was the elevator authority, once you cut the throttle you lose a ton of elevator and then when you put in power, especially when you’re slow, causes the nose to drop because the engines are above the wing. Those nacelles are walls when not providing thrust. My a10 crashed because of this
Not so bad Hey I bought the 64 mm futura back in late spring and I haven't flown it yet I'm going through that weird thing of im afraid of crashing on my maiden its my first ive only been flying the fms easy trainer glider for 2 years already what's your thoughts
If you have reflex v3 or AS3X & Safe, take it up! The Futura flies great, the only thing you gotta be careful of is a bouncy landing. Utilize the gyro on your first couple flights until you’re used to it!
You really need to look closely at the plastic retract housings. FMS retracts will crack with a lot less force than required to rip them out of the foam. If there is any roughness in operation the all thread shaft is probably bent. Yes there is a reason I know this. It doesn’t require a bad landing. Just hitting a rough spot on the field as the nose touches down. On another FMS aircraft I eventually figured out the main gear retracts had a heavier case. Since it had the same throw I was able to convert it for the nose gear position. The main gear retracts cost less. That has now made retract failures less common for me.
Hello fellow Wisconsinite! Curious to know where you're flying out of. Our club is near beloit. I've got an a-10 that's gotten the crap beat out of it. It's more hot glue and gorilla glue then foam maybe now. Lol
Fms planes.often have very little glue and tend to come out easily. Did the same on my 1700 mm Corsair. I added plenty of glue, and now it can take a hard landing
This is the first time I’ve had landing gear rip out from FMS. With this landing, I’m putting it 100% on me. I came down way too quick. Needed to keep my airspeed up
If you haven’t flown ANY rc planes, I’d suggest getting into a prop plane like the FMS Ranger or Super Cub. Once you’ve done that and you’re confident, I’d look into the FMS Futura 64mm or freewing f22 64mm with a gyro receiver.
100%! Well said. I’m glad I have these videos too, I go back and look where I messed up. Had an off day for sure, we will come out swinging on the next flight!
Ahh thats a shame mate. Looked like a good approach and the ground just came up quick on the camera fast. Had you done exactly the same but 2 seconds sooner you'd have made that landing without damage. Hopefully its no damage to your wallet and its just a 10 min hot glue gun job.
@ My Eflite t-28 is on its second fuselage and 4th front strut connecting pin. I did the FW T-33 nose retract conversion to it. So much better replacing a $3 part vs a $30 part.
What?! The A10 is a baby in the air.. I got the eflite A10 64mm when I had minimal experience and it's just like trainer.. so trainer like that it ended up being boring to fly. All the big hitters on YT also comment how docile the A10s are. This guys flown the F16 90 with success and that's certainly not a beginner jet. Jeeze ppl crash man, ppl make mistakes.

unfortunately it mate the same fate as the 30 mm, I guess a 10 is just an unlucky plane for you
and finally... A new video after almost 1 entire month of waiting!!!!!!!!!

That's the beauty of a warthog. Even F.U.B.A.R. is not gonna stop them from flying. It'll be back up and at em in no time. Just like the pilot. 👍
Hotglue works wonders on foam planes and never breaks in the same place.
Oh i got LOTS of glue! Going to have a glue party. Me and the A-10 are the only ones invited
Good to hear such enthusiasm. My grandkid flew his A10, did a high speed flyby, took the bombs off wings scraping ground but kept it in the air. 8:12 8:12 8:12
great video ...that model has a downward thrust line ..so be careful when giving it bursts of throttle..keep the great content coming

not to bad at all my guy cant wait to see it next she flew great
I’m already excited to fly it again and redeem myself!
BRRT BRRT was cool lol Dude I do the finger thing too lol 😂 take off was great. Nice video 🫡 sucks but they all have an expiration date!
Thank you! It does suck but we will be back.. appreciate you watchin 🙏🏻
nice to see that the damage is not that bad. awesome jet! :D

As someone who flies 3D, you can knife edge this A10 all day and do crazy flat spins. That crash is airspeed related
The A10 crash trama returns
Omg I didn’t realize.. am I cursed with A-10s? I can’t be.. I love them too much! WE GOTTA BREAK THE CURSE
So cool you flying rc A-10 warthog❤❤❤
This is my favorite RC plane. Above all the rest.
Same, I really really enjoy it!
oh this beauty😱 greetings from Germany 😁

Thank you so much for subscribing! Glad you’re here 🙌🏻
Ouch... I still haven't flown mine...wall art !
It is such a beautiful plane.. but you gotta fly it! Don't let my silly mistake slow you down. This plane flies amazing
@Mach3RC I've been making the stupid mistakes !
@@crazyaces9586 Must be something in the air 😂 Fly it as soon as your comfortable!! Its such an amazing plane
Approach looked good but landing was too hard rip langing gear
Yeah I dropped my air speed way too quickly with the landing gear and full flaps down. I learned from it at least!

Nooooo I hate when that happens
Same 😞
@ it completely repairable though right
Winter sucks. RC withdrawal is real im tellin ya
I gotta find a way to fly more in winter, the sim only scratches the itch so much :(
@Mach3RC either get some lighting game going or go heli and buy something like a Blade Nano you can fly indoors
Our flyin’ season has finally arrived here in Phoenix. Been beautiful out at the field lately! 😎 ☀️

Interesting! Definitely has a few unique flight characteristics.
@ haha lol yea but it does have great presence
I have a identical 3d printed a10 and seeing how bad the landings can go with the a10 makes me so nervous for the maiden 😅
GOOD VIDEO
Glad you liked it! 🙌🏻

Absolutely! It would take some work but people do it and it’s really cool
All you tech/mech wizards with 3d printers and soldering irons out there, can one of you please fit one of these gorgeous planes with a bb Gatling?
That would be awesome haha

Love this plane! Kills me it won’t be perfect anymore.. but they usually fly better after I crash em! 😅😅
Sure looks good. Is the white painted.
Awww lol. Well... she was a good flyer
Yea man last few days have been gorgeous out.
They always seem to fly better after a crash.. so we’ll see if it’s still as good! Hahah
That sucks poor A10 !!!
We’ll get er fixed!

Oefff!! 😮
The quality from the video was good 😂
(Just kidding bro) crashing sucks
We’ll come back stronger!
You probably would have been ok if it was not a grass field. I mean to say, it did not look too hard a landing I guess?
Grass isn’t the problem, I’ve already flown the plane here before. I just came down way too hard
Just a bit of hard landing. CLICKBAIT :-) Keep flying.
If I was riding in this jet I definitely wouldn’t have called it a “hard landing” hahaha
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!

You need to stick with trainer planes for a little longer. A-10 isn't something you jump into . Start with trainer style jets

The a-10 does not have a camera if that’s what you were asking
@Mach3RC how flying long distance it 🙃
try rc boats or needlepoint! flying is not your strong point.
Lmfao
OMg that’s terrible, but funny. 😂
it is the opposite of smart to fly a model airplane with PRETEND ORDNANCE mounted.!!!!!!
The ordinance really doesn’t affect this plane.
